With all their gaming devices and addiction to certain TV shows, I can't believe they don't have a DVR to record a show and watch later.
They do have it, it was mentioned in the later episodes where Penny recorded some tv shows.
I think you are confusing Sheldon with a normal person. He is a man of schedules and habit.

I read a story once, where Sheldon was in the hospital, and Sheldon called Leonard and asked what he was doing. The scene feels like from the show; it’s funny too:
"Why were you sleeping anyway? Why didn't you get up early to watch Doctor Who?" Sheldon asked.
"Because I don't have to, I can watch Doctor Who online anytime I want."
"And deprive the network if its ratings?"
"Sheldon..."
"Leonard, I think you need another lesson of mine on the importance of TV ratings for our favorite shows. Has my Firefly lesson taught you nothing?"
"You want to take the bus home?"

I used to think in same line... But realised it's not marvel or dc stuff. So much continuity at micro level not required, when you have many seasons to run.

Please tell me you watched the 10th or the 11th doctor or whatever bit of the war doctor was there atleast. And then didn't like it. If not you need to watch those, that's where it was peak.

Sheldon: [(1) I imagine there aren't many kosher corn-huskers.]
Howard: Yay! If you'll excuse me, I have some Bar-Mizvah bonds to cash.
First one: he was asking her if she wants to move in with him, in a fun way
Second one: Sheldon was making a play on words, a corn husker "undresses" corn, and as Kosher is a term that basically means food a Jewish person can eat, he was saying that there aren't many Jewish-friendly people that would undress Howard
Third one: Howard was saying he needs to cash in his old bonds so he could give her more money, so she would keep sleeping with him
To help you a little more accurately...
He actually says CASA Wolowitz. CASA= Spanish for HOUSE, so it's Wolowitz's house.
She recognises his name as Jewish, Jewish people like good delicatessen food, hence MEXICAN DELI.
CORN HUSKER is a nickname for Nebraskans (all their sporting teams are so called). KOSHER is Hebrew for anything that's okay in Judaism- not just food.
Very few Jews live between the west & east coasts of US, so she wouldn't have had the opportunity to bed any in her home state., hence: "My first Jew".
It's all "mildly anti-Semitic" but funny as hell.
I remember seeing this in my High School chemistry class, and my (at the time) close-minded, minor brain think Dr. Who was some boring, educational documentary series. And since the only shows I liked to watch at the time only had 22 min. episodes, that Dr. Who was no different, and Sheldon was just stubborn and way more nitpicky than *I* was. But then Dr. Who was temporarily on one of the channels I watched, and saw how wrong I was... I also now understand and agree with Sheldon on that "Dr. Why Bother" comment.
Satisfying to see bad karma caught up & howard suffered in the end

Just like you, right, Penny? I mean, she was getting that from Leonard even before they were dating and sleeping together. And to reiterate, another reason why Leonard should have taken his own advice.

@@WilonaMinaWalker I am watching something else. As a matter of fact, I watch Sabrina, Everybody Loves Raymond, King of queens and other sitcoms from the 80s-00s except for the cringe-fest of TBBT. However, every so often I like to talk smack about this atrocity of a show.
The show was filmed with a live audience. You lack subtlety.
