Hello Doc, Just FYI. LENOX's middle opening position is for blade change. You can pull out the blade only that position with button pushed. Its my go to Utility Knife. Thanks for Amazing tool videos. 👍
I looked at this knife at Lowes, as I was buying the foldable and the blades. I like the design and execution of the folding knife quite a bit: Its blade-right configuration, multiple surfaces that allow for a firm purchase, as well as the choice of materials. It doesn't look out place on my office desk. I bet this knife would have a similar effect. While at the store, I noticed a line of Fiskars shears. We use shears at work daily. Thinking of buying a pair and checking them out. If they work out, I'll get a bunch for the staff. FWIW, we use Fiskars scissors that are at least 15 years and it's not light duty. They're cleaned and sharpened regularly and they keep on going. Can't say the same for literally ever other scissors of this kind that we've tried since buying those.
The mechanism is very interesting and quite functional because users do not need to be afraid of the possibility of the blade to fold accidentally and cut their fingers. But for work or DIY i still prefer the 25mm snap off knife because it has a finer blade length adjustment, the OTF mechanism is also relatively easier and safer when sliding out and retracting the blade.
Thanks again for watching. I pick up tools that catch my attention. Fiskars has been making innovative cutting tools forever. If they make it, I find it interesting.
Does it expose exactly half the blade or slightly more? I don't understand why they would expose slightly more than half the blade if they're only going expose about half of it. It makes it so when you flip it around you don't get a completely new surface and it ruins the whole knife for me.
Hey Doc, QUESTION: Do you know where I can get those Utility Blades that have the Square cutout in the center, like the one in your Fiskars Folding Blade Guard? Or, do you know what they are Called? I have the ToughBuilt Utility Knife/Scraper, it uses those Blades but I can't find them. THANKS! Love the Daily Videos! They Start my Day @3:00am!🔨👍😁👍🔧
Hi, Do the knifes hold any standard blade, or are they type specific to each knife holder, as i would be harder to find and keeping a stock of specific blades for each knife
The Fiskars hold the standard replaceable blades. Nothing fancy. They just come with the blades with the square holes of which I'm told are to aid in certain blade dispensers.
Love your content! I have a question though, why do you own so many of the same tools? Are you a collector? Or do you just buy them to do reviews for content?
I don't understand these flip open utility cutters. You take a regular cutter with a thumb operated retractable blade and it's operable single handed. To me that means I can pull it out of my pocket, extend the blade, make my cut and retract and stick it back in my pocket all single handed. You can't do that with most of the flip the open ones. While I have some Milwaukee and Kobalt flip units, I generally reach for one of my old craftsman or Stanley slide out cutters.
Some models have the thumb operated knob and also have a flip close - those make a lot of sense. The advantage here is compact storage, while allowing for staying open locked (with blade retracted) while on the job. I agree it's a hassle if flipping close is the only way to secure the blade.
As an electrician I like the profile and sturdiness of the flip open knives. I have enough stuff in my pockets all day, I don't need to add a huge knife when a smaller better one is available.

Nice! I didn't realize there was so much variety of utility knife out there.
For some reason ACE stores in my area are dropping those Fiskar Pro utility knives for about $9 and the replacement blades.

Does it work with non Fiskars blades. For example normal ones without a hole in the middle?
Will you do tower light review? Just to see what's your take on it
You should take a look at the cat safety utility knife it looks quite unique
