  • Today we are looking at some new hand tools from Fiskars, specifically a new compact utility knife that will hopefully become my new EDC and a couple of shears for heavy cutting tasks.

    Does the compact knife not flick closed? I have the regular sized one and it flicks closed like the fastback.

      I have two and the one flicks open and closed like you would expect. The other has a hang up from day one, might be a small defect or imperfection. I have considered taking it apart to check it out but haven’t yet. But yes, if you are wanting a knife that will flick open, these should. 👍🏻 Thanks for watching

      So far it has been superb! It was the exact size that I was looking for and the lock and blade retention have been spot on. 👍🏻

    Wonderful review,my father-in-law always told me to have a good pair of scissors he’s a retired carpenter and I actually have 2 great pairs in my tool pouch and 1 in my tool chest. Just recently subscribed to ur channel and enjoy it greatly.🤙

      Thanks Dave, I really appreciate the sub and comments. 👍🏻 A good pair of scissors are worth their weight in gold, your father in-law is a wise man. Even the more common household Fiskars scissor seem to cut and last forever. I am excited to give these shears a workout and see what they are capable of. What scissors are you currently using?

      Your welcome. We also use the Fiskars scissors in the kitchen. I found the kitchen shears that come apart for easy cleaning after cutting raw meats are so handy. 👍🏻

      What is an angled cut the stop? Googling doesn’t really help either

    Thank you for this review.Im interested in utility knife. As you said looks a little too thick . looking for a Mini utility bladed knife

      You are welcome. The compact utility knife has actually been perfect for me. I was worried that it might be a little thick but I really haven’t noticed it. Depending on your use case, there are companies that have some really thin and minimalist utility knife options. Hope that helps and thanks for watching. 👍🏻

    wow, those tiny Fiskars are really hard to find, no kidding. I want one so much. Can't find it anywhere near Australia. :(

      Yeah I can imagine that it is even harder in Australia. Sorry about that, maybe if you reached out to Fiskars they will have an option for you? Good luck and thanks for watching. 👍🏻

    Nice review, I really hope their Power Gear line like the Bolt Cutters get tested against Knipex. Or their tin snips against Midwest. Not much about them online and they have been out for a while. Fiskars generally make great stuff

    • @garnerreviews
      @garnerreviews  Год назад +1

      Great idea, thanks for reminding me about their Power Gear line. I actually have some of their snips, maybe I can find a pair of Midwest to do a test and comparison with. 👍🏻 Thanks for watching and commenting.

      @@garnerreviews That would be great, it's a shame there is so little on their Powergear line besides the gardening stuff. I hope it didn't flop because it's good to see innovation in hand tools that require higher leverage
