One thing to mention if you don't. Fiskar's has an awesome warranty. In the states it seems like it is more honored then some people I've talked to in the UK. I have many, many Fiskar's tools and I have had them send out new replacements, no questions asked. I email a picture and that is the end of it, one shows up in the mail. I mean they have led the way in many crafting, logging, and gardening/landscaping tools. They are also one of the oldest companies and had a huge impact on the Finnish agricultural industry.
That's great to know. I have to say, it's not a very popular brand in the US and this is only the 2nd Fiskar's tool I have owned. I hope to see more of them in the big box stores.
I LOVE Fiskars products and you are spot on about their warranty! I was very pleasantly surprised when I contacted them about my telescoping loppers, one of the lock mechanisms broke and I wanted to but a replacement part--they sent me an Entire new tool! And, did not want the old ones back...amazing to me
@@diytoolreviews8278 Same here. I bought/replaced certain tools based on his reviews. Overall, when it comes to tool reviews & variety of different brands head to head along with a review just about every week, his channel has been very informative & entertaining to watch especially when the tools get put through abuse. Just a few times I thought certain abuse tests make no sense but rarely.
I’ve had the Fiskar Pro for over a year & I love it also. I took the clip off, adjusted it to my specs & now it works great. Their tools are made for hard use. The ergos are designed for comfort & cutting proficiency.
Lol, I ordered the fiskars knife too after seeing it perform on project farm. I've loved it the last two weeks, and the boss is always borrowing my knife now. The belt clip on it is great and I've found all sorts of great places to stash it. Love that knife.
Looks like the belt clip will be fairly easy to remove and I don't like belt clips that much anyway. If it's nice and smooth so it doesn't irritate the leg while in the pocket, is easier to conceal and shaped so as to make it easy to quickly feel it correctly oriented in your hand and deploy with great speed, now that's good.
Work in a lumberyard, got a basic FastBack, but getting the Fiskars Pro and Exceed Designs V3 for EDC. A few other people have Milwaukee Fastbacks and I don’t want mine swiped or mixed up with my coworkers. I’ll use both and test them out with some hard use. I’ll get the Dewalt blades as well thanks to Project Farm’s video, and with cutting plastic banding every day.
No doubt, this vid popped up in my feed, as I'm not even subscribed yet. But I'm going to go buy a fastback, because I need that screwdriver bad lmao. I had never even seen one until now. I kept on waiting for him to show the screwdriver on the Fiskars but nope. I was a sheetrock and metal framer for decades, so I doubt comfort is going to be an issue for me.
I have the matching breakaway knife that takes the huge long breakaway blades. Its just as nice and its a beast for cutting and shaving things down when you need more blade !
Personally just switched from my all time favorite which was the Milwaukee compact Fastback to the newer 6 in 1 because of the extra features and most importantly the extra blade storage. The compact is the best size for its also awesome button actuation mechanism, but the 6 in 1, even though a bit larger, has won me over with the extra features and blade storage. At least as the best edc utility blade. Fiskars makes some great stuff. I own several of their axes and saws so I have no doubt that the utility blade is quality, but it seems to big to carry in pocket every day imo. Especially since the pocket clip is not nearly as nice as the Milwaukees. But ultimately the extra blade storage and multifunction of the 6 in 1 just has the Fiskars beat handily, at least for edc purposes imo.
Get a pair of pliers and adjust your belt clip, no big deal. I have to do it on ALL my knives. I wear heavy duty pants and the pockets are about double thick as normal jeans. Don't do too much go at it slowly and I haven't found any clip I 'make a bit larger or put a bend in the end if you dont want it larger in the gap. Thats why we have tools isnt it? To make adjustments sometimes :)
Belt clips are nice but I work in the trades and I don't ever see anyone clips to there belts .I know I don't. I use my level pocket or my tool pouch . I also was skeptical after viewing project farm ,but after seeing this I'm definitely going to pick one up thanks.
Same here. I love traditional folding pocket knives but I carry a fixed-bladed knife with sheath and keep my pants pockets free for other things. Large items in my pants pockets tend to be uncomfortable during a day of labor and a sheath'mounted tool is easier to access and put away.
Great video i had the fiskars before i ever owned a fastback always thought they were over hyped but after i bent the pocket clip a little i loved the fiskars until it started falling apart my rubber grip started peeling off and then my screws fell out at work i found one in my pocket but lost one and couldn’t find a replacement so i bought the 1502 metal body fastback with the 5 blade storage and have never looked back i love the way it feels in my hand and it feels less bulky but has blade storage which i hated not having extra blades on me at work cutting boxes all day
I have that exact Fiskars model and I threw the belt clip away. Wasn't gonna use it so now it is even more ergonomic and a bit sleeker. I have just seen a smaller fiskars pro utility knife that looks amazing.
I switched to a 20cv folder and straup it when I get home. Give it a try 👍You get great economics, a knife you can be proud to show off and you don't have to buy blades anymore. But when I do big drywall jobs I use a hatchet that has a hammer on one end. That's how I was taught anyways. Thank you great review 👍
the fat knobby handle is perfect when your hand starts cramping. and that thumb stud on the back spine is perfect for hitting with a hammer to do a hatchet job on something. I dinged up the blade latch pretty bad doing that, but it still holds them fine. just a bit harder to wiggle out.
Take a flat head or chisel, bend the clip away from the knife, it will fix that tight low profile issue with the clip...have to do the same thing with the belt clips on my fat max tape measures to help them easily clip onto my tape clips on my bags for work
Love my Milwaukee. Smaller one fits in my pocket well and I always have it. That one is $13 on Amazon. They have many different types also. It's in my list now.
Ya ive had a few fastbacks. The older one s blade storage i cant find anymore. I use the old one wo storage for awhile, right before xmas i bought the one w the screwdriver and the compact ina pack for $20. The one thing i dont like about the screwdriver one is they added blade storage, but only ond blade fits. Still a great knife. I like the compact a lot as well. The original has the more heavy-duty feel, but they're all great
Thanks for the review. Other YT videos rank it at or near the top, mainly for its god ergonomics. Fiskars has bedn making hand tools that fit your hand for a long time. I carry my knife in my pocket, so I don't care about the beltclip. The less obtrusicve the better. I just ordered one for $16 and change because I'm impatient. Hope you'll test Fiskar's claims for its blades, so I can decide if they are worth a premium price.
That Milwaukee button location looks like it would be easy to accidentally engage if gripping it tight. Why put it right over the choil like that? But the Phillips attachment is pretty nice. All hail Todd.
Just earlier saw a video about this Fiskar knife (on bzeug's channel), and is seems that the clip on it is much better suited for molly loops (hope I spelled that correctly) than belts and/or pockets.
Looks like some one could do a mod since the FISKARS clip unscrews ? - they make a bunch of really weird / futuristic sewing blades and scissors for anyone wanting to see some really futuristic designs by FISKARS
Fiskars uses the same colour scheme on almost all its tools, axes, rakes, kitchen knives, etc., and the rubber is quite resilient atleast on kitchen knife handles. It does not get sticky with normal use and care. If the Milwaukee belt clip is not copyright design there is high probability that it might find its way on Fiskars too, they don't hang themselves on locked designs but do a lot tuning and tweaking on their products.
I dunno, maybe a fullsize Fastback would do just as well. I especially like the thick one with the extra blade holders on it. I mean I like a tiny blade holder too, but for real work I'd take a fastback or the Fisker thing over a cheap fixed Stanley...
I just buy husky blades in the double pack at Home Depot when they are on sale, maybe change blades every other day or so in my line of work. Cheapest way to get 200 blades that I have found.
Sadly no. I think the extra blade storage was a big miss because the form factor the knife is large enough it could have very likely accommodated that without much change.
@@diytoolreviews8278 I mean the Milwaukee can only hold 1 extra blade if I’m remembering correctly so it’s not like it has that much of an edge over it but yea they totally missed the mark. Maybe they will remake one with boy a driver and storage. That would be sweet
@user-ox7hh9zs4f I'm pretty sure if you ask most people who carry a pocket utility knife they would say that having an extra blade is clutch in so many situations. So many of us I think forget we've already flipped the blade and then are in the middle of a cutting task and realize we need a fresh blade and when we go to flip the sucker we're like dang it. But when you've got another blade hidden in the handle it's so nice.
I bought both the fastback & Fiskars Pro knife a week apart from each other. I prefer the clip on the fiskars a bit more. Both are somewhat uncomfortable in the back pocket but the clip seem better suited to hang on a belt loops.
I've gone back to my fastback. At first I started noticing the lock up notches on my blades were looking buggered up when swapping out the blades on the fiskar. Shortly after the blades were sliding out when cutting beads or what not, and the locking mechanism would pop itself up. My buddy's is still going strong and I might of just ended up with a lemon...
I've heard some great thigs about Fiskar's warranty. You might wanna give them a try. Supposedly it's a no questions asked replacement. If you do, please report back here and let me know.
@DIY Tool Reviews Good looking out! Hats off to their customer service. I reached out to them, they asked for a couple pics, expressed their apologies for the lemon and got my address. Bada-bing bada-boom I got a tracking number for the replacement all in the same day. All in all, painless process.

You could fix that belt clip by taking it off, sanding the tip to make it smooth, then bend it up to give a larger opening.

Geeeeettt tooo iitttt already
It doesn't have a screwdriver and can opener. I'll pass
its not a belt clip its meant for aprons and tool bags
Fiskar is expensive and ugly, but if you hold it once, you can't go back😂
It's yuge
Get to the point man 2x speed wasnt even enough
Fisker owns Gerber knife company !
TOOK YOU SO LONG , .... TO PRESENT SOMETHING NOT SO SPECIAL .
Fiskars is for profis.
You are all over and talk to much
Pocket clips with big ends like the Milwaukee will get caught on stuff constantly and fall out of pockets losing your knife if u r me in a ceiling or crawl space absolute deal breaker for me since it doesn’t carry well as a true pocket knife
