Tim, thanks for the video! This video definitely has me thinking, I currently use Truck Smarter but you make very valid points. How is the van freight on DAT? I used to subscribe to Truck Stop and the van freight at the time I had it, was not good, Truck Smarter had better loads and way more of them. If there are a good number of dry van loads on DAT, I don't mind paying for it because it will obviously pay for itself. I just couldn't justify it with Truck Stop when Truck Smarter was beating it out every time.
My thoughts are how many of the loads on DAT are the same load in a certain area?? In addition,out of the say 10 loads in an area,if one of them is the direct shipper and the rest are brokers for the same load is it worth paying for DAT board??
I prefer Truckstop over dat but either way you have to question anything that is so called “free”. Truck smarter is just a bunch of large brokerage houses that you are never going to develop a great relationship with. The just trucking guy sold his soul to truck smarter and keeps touting them every chance he gets. I can only hope more people start to use truck smarter and hopefully go out of business to thin this herd. I also hope insurance continues to climb and that will reduce the ability of new entrants to come in once the market comes back. Unfortunately I fear with all the illegal and legal immigrants flooding in that this truck industry is for the most part done. The Cubans flooded the market in Florida and everything going in is cheap which used to not be the way. Texas is also done due to the Mexicans running cheap in and out. West coast is covered up by three person Indian teams so that market is done. The only thing left in trucking is local or highly specialized. Just hoping I can squeeze maybe fifteen more years out of before it’s time to hang it up. I’d quit now but too late to change gigs now.

Dat is the best place for Dry van freight in my opinion, Truck stop would be good for platform freight
