hey I’m 25 1.5yr experience and I’m about to be shopping for first truck in a couple months. respect your content hustle bro, could I cash app you for a phone call? I’d just like to ask a couple questions about best next steps in your opinion for my situation specifically
It’s crazy to me that today I literally told my dad that I wanted to be truck driver and invest in real estate instead of going to med school. This route seems more beneficial because one thing I want to do is travel. This might be the move I make‼️
I have a lot of opinions about Med school. But you should believe in yourself, if you look at something seriously, and it’s what you want, you should go for it and give it your all. Plus, school is always available. These jobs, it’s a lot easier to try young.

Hell yeah I appreciate the info I got in the industry as company driver September and I plan to be owner operator and have a driver as well in one of the trucks so it’s nice to see the blueprint being put into motion.
I'm thinking about becoming an owner operator. With todays diesel prices (11/21/2022) you would pay about 70% more for fuel. That is around $5,000 less profit. Between that and the possibility of being in a bubble, I am a little spooked. I guess if I dispatched myself as well as had a paid off truck and trailer it would make a bit more sense. Even then it is looking like a bad time to get into trucking. If we are really in a bubble, when it pops it could be a bloodbath for owner operators and small companies without a lot of capital to get through the lean times. I think the best move might just be to keep saving and wait it out for now. Maybe wait until I can buy a truck and trailer cash and reanalyze the market then. Thank you for the information you shared in this video.
Thanks for sharing your experience as an owner operator. It's awesome to see your success at such a young age. May God continue to bless you with His abundance.
With a 30 day month, 24 days out, that averages 541mi/day. That's pretty solid running, but not over the top. That seems like a pretty decent amount to get a feel for the "average" possible pay, current inflationary pay for loads notwithstanding. To say $20k/month cost prior to profit seems like it could be a good rule of thumb for operating cost. So $2/mile, (30% less than you averaged), your profit would be $10k, still a pretty decent profit! I also advise to SAVE as much as you can! Bitcoin, crypto-currencies, Robinhood. The rich get richer because they invest, they have their money work for them.
Ken, why don’t you get your own authority and get your own loads from the boards like JB Hunt, Uber etc where you can negotiate the price and increase your profit? Get a fuel savings card, meant for owner operators like us. It’s a large group of O/O who join and get fuel at large fleet prices. Love your videos!!
You don’t need your own authority to do that and Uber sucks and so does JB yes you can negotiate but you also have to deal with other O/O undercutting your bid. You can negotiate on Dat which he’s doing
Lol @ JB Hunt load board. Why would he wanna haul that cheap ass freight? Any driver is better off using DAT and Truckstop. And running under your own authority is just more headache. You can make it work, but unless you want the problem of dealing with the paperwork for all the lanes your drivers run, you got another mouth to feed, the dispatcher(s)
Thank you for putting this out there and for a young man you have pretty good knowledge keep on grinding and do your thing and thank you again for sharing this this video
