In this video, I test out and compare the Jacquard YouCan Refillable Rechargeable Spray Bottle system against the Preval Amazing Spray System . I used them both to spray some thinned out rustoleum farm paint. In my opinion, there is a clear winner in this comparison but in the end, that's just my opinion!

If your paint is too think you just need to remove the filter at the bottom.of the tube. Its in thr instructions

Honestly I have used the Preval sprayer before and had decent success with it. I painted a guitar body with waterborne paint and it actually atomized the paint pretty decently. I know it sucks in the moment but honestly everyone should just buy a spray gun and learn how to master that if you are just doing small projects. You are going to have cleanup regardless. Better off with a spray gun to get the right kind of atomization

Along with this, and seeing the reviews on Amazon, I'm avoiding the You Can. Primarily because several reviews were saying that theirs exploded, and causing injury. Don't know if they didn't follow directions properly, but I'm not feeling like risking it, in case they did properly follow directions, and it still blew up. I happened to see my sister had bought the Preval sprayer for some craft project she's working on. I'm interested in using one of a project I'm planning, but don't want to spend stupid amounts of money on a decent spray gun for a one and done project.

It exploded because they unscrewed the cap before releasing all the extra pressure

    • @ricardombr
      @ricardombr 2 года назад

@@maxd925 I would rather test it myself, I saw that the you can has a normal spray paint cap and tube therefore, when he was trying to fill it with paint he should have turned it upside down, the rest of the problems though, idk
it should be written in the can how it should be filled

Need to thin it with something other than water which dries quicker. Try alcohol or windex. Maybe add a bit of glycerine to prevent tip clogging.

Paint on the YouCan should def be thinner but great video man, I appreciate it

  • @cerpow

The problem with YouCan is that they come with crappy spray nozzle tip. The thin tip flies away when you spray and after that, it sprays like yours. Try and use another tip from another spray can

Ok...just watched the rest of your video....
I had NO problems with the Jacquard setup. First off, with every pump system I've used, it's locked on to the valve stem when the lever is pulled DOWN after placing it over the threads. Your pump may be different.
I do wish that you would have practiced the process simply with water until you had it mastered. It would have looked better for you as a professional as well as being a lot less messier and not wasting any product aka paint.
The paint does need to be water thin with 50psi minimum air pressure.
I have just seen this was uploaded in Feb....I've had a spinal surgery (5 in the last 4 years) so look over my "brain fog" lol. Recovery from these surgeries are horrible.
Did you ever get the Jacquard system able to work for you?

Looking at it, it seems the paint was too thick in the YouCan to become atomized. The thinner paint in the PreVal was think enough to atomize? Also, paint sprays 100X better when you put the paint cans in a bucket of warm water for a few minutes instead of spraying cold.

He used the same thinner filtered paint on both. Plus he was to nervous of making a mess on moms kitchen to make different batches.

OMGGGG! I thought I was the only one that did this! Well that is until I tell others and they go crazy with the results! Not only does the paint mix up easier and dry faster, there is WAY less orange peel! Also, the flakes in metallic paint spread way more evenly when heated!
Thank you for suggesting this here!

@@justinmurphy2227 anyone ever try to atomize chalk paint? Its basically acrylic mixed w plaster of paris to make a very flat, matte color, which looks good on upcycled furniture. Intentionally distressed furniture/farmhouse/ shabby chic look.
I tried it in my preval and it just kept clogging up. I thinned it w water but then it sprayed into a dripping mess.

No drop cloth on the kitchen table! You have a garage, this is where that kind of potentially messy stuff should be done. Plus many thin coats is always better than one thick coat. As nearly everybody on here has stated that paint should have been thinned at least 50/50 ratio.

  • @koskey06

U need to add a little thinner or solvent to make it less thick so you get a smoother finnish

Rechargeable=filling it with compressed air again and again.
Like when you "recharge" the refrigerant in you automotive or home's AC system if it leaked out or was replaced.
It is not just an electrical term.
So refillable and rechargeable are two separate, but needed, terms to make the Jacquard system work.
I'm just going in to detail here so someone doesn't look for a charger or battery system when or if they purchase the item.
I have just purchased both systems by the way to use DuraCoat's products with. I restore car audio amplifiers and other equipment, with. I will also be doing a review comparing both. I will say that I see one mistake that is made a lot with the Jacquard system after reading the reviews on Amazon and other places....a pressure gauge is a MUST when "charging" and "recharging" it's tank/canister. I use Ryobi's P737D to charge with and this model has the digital gauge. I also have the analog "needle" gauge unit and both are spot on when checked with nice separate tank gauge. I am able to fill the can with 33% aka a 1/3 of the paint or sprayable product and then charge it with 50psi of air in less than 45 secs. I then can use the can till empty without experiencing any pressure loss! Just keep the nozzle tip clean. I really like the Jacquard product but I'm also still looking forward to testing and using the Preval system. I think both will have a use in my paint system and home diy tool shed!
    Stay on the Gas....
    Thank you for the video!!!!
Oh yeah....here is the Ryobi compressor....

Paint is too thick, thin your paint first and then strain it, that's all user error. I reuse my Preval all the time, clean jar with thinner and put thinner in jar spray until clear thinner comes out then remover jar and spray litter air to finnish
