Breaking Rime Ice Off A Chairlift

When water droplets freeze instantly upon contact with an object, that is called "Rime Ice." Rime Ice is common after wet storm events (like when a storm starts out as rain and then turns to snow). Rime ice must be broken off of chairlifts entirely before the chair can spin. We do this by hand.
