It seemed inevitable that Jaguar would make a smaller version of the F-Pace SUV, given that car’s success, and this is it: the Jaguar E-Pace. The E-Pace is a rival to other compact SUVs at the premium end of the market, such as the Audi Q2, BMW X1, Volvo XC40 and Range Rover Evoque.
Batch takes a look at the entry-level D150 to see whether the E-Pace has what it takes to trump its rivals and live up to the reputation of its bigger brother.

"Not only is the E-Pace the top choice if you want a practical little SUV..." You mean practical little *luxury* SUV. Additionally, the auto is a 9-speed, and the top diesel is 240 PS/237 BHP.

It looks like the rear window does not go all the way down. I like the knobs. But the plasticky bits is inexcusable for a jag.
That “Jaguar’s activity key” is just a notification for car burglars to be aware that you’ve left your car keys in the car

Glad to see you back James you certainly don't mince your words when it comes to reviewing cars.. I don't particularly like this type of car/crossover, its small, heavier than and F Pace and can cost as much, however Its not bad looking and it has good space inside just not much else.
Interesting. Considered but no thank you. Went for great deal on Infinti Q30. 2.0 auto petrol AWD Glass roof. Bose. etc etc etc. 6k miles £19745

I’m sorry over 10 seconds to 60mph from a 2 litre diesel? That’s just inexcusable in 2018 when 1 litre cars are quicker than that.. how much must this thing weigh!??
Geegs read my comment again. I’m saying that JLR’s engines suck when a two litre is so underpowered and there are cars which exist with just as much power from a 1 litre. I never said that 1 litre engine should be in a crossover however... I’m just making a comparison to something like a Fiesta ecoboost. The diesel engines in most JLR cars aren’t up to modern standards when you consider the competition.

Warranty is worthless , mine broke down 8 times and they wanted me to pay £1500 for new DPF even though it was in warranty

Good review.....which like many others for Jaguars cars, confirms the firm are more concerned with form over function. The interior trim and in car tech is right up there with Kia, and their pricing is right up there with...well...Jaguar! But none of that matters to JLR...it looks nice!

eastwood978 Actually I own a 2017 F-Pace and that is brilliant so when I test drove the E-Pace I was expecting a lot more but came out disappointed

I went to a showroom to have a look at one and was surprised by how crap the interior quality was.
I’m happy with my Q3 .. there are soo many downsides on this one!!

So this is supposed to "compete"with the GLC and X3.....? In the same way that the XE is supposed to "compete" with the C-Class/A4/3 Series....? Come on now.
James Batchelor sorry my comment were towards Jaguar (in case they are reading this you know) but the whole thing just seems so cheap and poorly executed. I supposed it's more forgiveable if this competes with the X1 / Q3 but surely you'd take the X2 for similar £?
I just don’t like jaguar infotainment screens. They need to be changed, I don’t mind the interior quality tbh

A FWD Jag that's heavier than the RWD based and larger F Pace. Well done Jag. Only you can have a smaller vehicle be the heaviest. Cost cutting everywhere. The interior is crap tastic plastic. China deluxe here
