Fantastic cover!! I suspected you’d cover this at some point! Technical question, how do you choose what key to play guitar & sing? Trial & error for each song or do you know which keys to go to best for you?
I usually shoot for original key unless I want to alter the mood (my version of Breaking the Law by Judas Priest is an example of a time when I’ve tried to do that deliberately, ruclips.net/video/KOZdL6UpTA8/видео.htmlsi=jVPpmbQghunvxUIC) If there’s a song I want to do but its original key isn’t within my range, I tend to I sing it a capella in a comfortable register then try and work around that area whilst bringing the guitar back and figuring out the new key. With Dancing in the Dark, I used to do it half a step up from the original key but as I’ve gotten older my voice has changed a bit so I’ve now gone the other way, which is what I’m sharing here. too much volume at times. otherwise pretty good. i think a less is more approach would work better.....springsteen is incredibly smooth when he sings this.
