That's probably the best 30 minutes of weather I've seen in my entire career...picked up about 5 MAJOR points on WX forecasts...thank you for a great video!
As of Dec of 2015, AFDs are now part of ForeFlight, so you can get the discussion support behind TAF and MOS reports
Great video, thanks for producing
Foreflight now has this in the discussion tab for anyone watching in 2020
Great stuff, Scott. Thanks for making us all safer.
A lot of good stuff on those videos from foreflight.... Really enjoy them all
awesome information !!!
First time I ever have decoded a TAF in my years of being a sim pilot and aviation enthusiast. Amazing. They have exact cross winds and center line winds down to the knot...never knew such a thing existed.
Thank you.
I think ForeFlight now includes AFD Forecast Discussion under airport 'Weather'
yes, I use it all the time ;)
I'm runninig Foreflight 14.8.1 on my iPad. I find the AFD toward the top of the TAF for an airport. Is this the same AFD he is referring to?
I read recently that FA was being gotten rid of. How does that affect this?
Are AFDs in ForeFlight yet?
What does "time-smeared" mean? (at 11:25)
It means that it is not valid at a single time, but over a range of time.
Of course airline politics interfere with a forecasters ability to produce an accurate, safe weather picture. Shame on them.
How so? Not saying you're wrong at all just curious.
@@officergregorystevens5765 There's outside pressure by the airlines to construct a forecast to avoid the necessity to file an alternate or carry extra fuel.
