@Acy Peterson The headlines are little misleading. I dont believe they actually cut anything they added space between scares and dialogue so the audience wouldn't miss anything. Quote from the director Rob Savage: “The first time you see the creature, the audience screamed so loud, and then immediately started talking with their neighbours and chattering, that they completely missed the next lines,” he explains. “So we had to recut it and build in 45 seconds of padding, just so they didn’t miss any vital information.”

I love when the sister says that there's no such thing as monsters right before she's attacked by one. They actually hide beneath the dark and blind spots in this world, all you got to do is close your eyes or even look yourself in the mirror to find them.
Horror movies haven't been horroring and not so scary to me these past few years but this trailer FOR SURE caught my attention and looks like a must watch!
Can't exactly remember where it was but I read an article a bit back about how the monster was apparently *too* scary? Like during test watches everyone started talking about how scary it was that the people running it noticed that they kept missing on plot stuff bc of it But anyways!! Both that and the trailers giving me hope for it being a good horror movie
As a horror fanatic since I was a child, it’s been far longer than a few years. Try a couple decades with the exception of a handful. If that in American cinema. Why most of us moved over to foreign horror films. Korea has killed it for a decade. American cinema died long ago just remakes and rip offs. Hopefully as someone whose read every King novel owns every movie among hundreds of horror on DVD, this does not disappoint. Was originally a short story called the night shift. Not getting my hopes up as usual. Always better that way don’t go in expecting much. Isn’t the 80’s-early 2000’s anymore

the movie is horrible... nothing to do with steven king... it is the movie itself that was not up to par... he knows this too but this is your timeline ... enjoy
I loved the Stephen King short story when I read it ages ago. This is another case of merely using the story as a jumping off point for a different storyline altogether, though it remains to be seen if they keep the original ending, and I suspect they may have. That being said, this does look good.
Just when I’ve given up on horror films for good. This comes along. Guess it took really great production work, cast and producers to finally make one. I haven’t flinched in so long lol I got goosebumps from this. Can’t wait till it hits the screens!
The boogeyman is actually pretty good it just works for what it is. The design of the creature/shadow monster was done very well. I like the fact that they don't show it right away just in quick cuts here and there. Which works
horrible movie... dont just say it because you are in ai iphone zombie timeline... this was 1.5/5 movie... it was boring.. it was way low on the steven scale greatness scale... it would never even make a single wave in the other timeline of 2016 and prior
This isn't connected to those old movies in anyway besides the name this new movie is an adaptation of Stephen Kings Boogeyman short story in which the other ones were not
How are predictable jump scares actually frightening? I don't get it. If anything they annoy me more often than not. Especially when they're obviously doing it to hide a creature. I want to SEE a creature, I want to KNOW how frightening it is or isn't FFS. Stephen King himself basically says the same thing in his book about writing. That's why he DOES always make sure you know exactly what a creature looks like. As did Lovecraft.
I'm a purist, so the first thing that I noticed is that it's obviously a lot different from the original short story that it's based on. That, however, isn't always a bad thing. Even I can admit that. Can't wait to see what the Boogeyman looks like. For some reason as a kid I always imagined that it'd look like Venom from the Spidey comics...
Just saw it. Enjoyable and I liked how it didn’t rely on gore. Apparently, a solid, real creature in the movie and not something imagined or intangible. And the ending was fairly(though not COMPLETELY) satisfying.
I just watched this a minute ago. This truly is one of the scariest films I have ever watched and I have seen so many horror films I don't scare easily. I was on edge throughout the whole film. Great acting too. 10/10

Based on a book by Stephen King with key words: Boogeyman, Producer of Stranger Things, someone getting kicked the face by the boogeyman, and John Wick Origins. This is going to be good.
Oh my goodness. I just watched this. I have never seen a horror film this incredible. I mean. WOW. I had to actually take breaks. PLEASE DO NOT MISS THIS *MASTERPIECE!* whewww. BLOWN AWAY. The message is really something as well.
So instead of it being about a man haunted by the Boogie Man's effect on his life, the psychological horror involved, and the losses he experiences through his life its going to be a monster movie about a mom and daughter with nothing but jump scares. The short story, as a parent, was really sad and unnerving. This will be schlock.

Yeah was wondering that - the short was so clever. But I can see how the "hook" of the short could be used as the reveal - since that one main character could still be used ;-) The timeline is likely mixed around for the trailer, but could see that still playing out in this... they aged the child, added the sister angle, and technically the "dad" is still in it LOL

This is called MARKETING. Christ, is everyone here 12?!
@@Mmmmilo Just because something works to your benefit, doesn't automatically mean it's on purpose or part of some grand conspiracy. For all we know, maybe this horror movie is just that good at its sole job in scaring people! Go figure!
Yeah, right...like all the test screenings that allegedly make people faint. It was so scary we had to re-edit it!!! Lol....people will believe anything.
“It’s the thing that comes for your kids when you’re not paying attention” awesome line for a horror movie!
this was hands down the scariest thing I ever read from King. I read it at summer camp in a room with no less than 10 closet doors. That kind of room where one wall is all doors. -shivers- that room went from ok feeling to the scariest place in the world in one short story. lol I was also like 11 or 12 years old. 😊
The scene with the TV reminded me the old good POLTERGEIST of the 80s.
The golden era of the good chilling thrillers.
Finally! A Boogeyman movie that’s actually scary
Nah b!
You’ve seen it ?
Because of shots stolen from every horror movie ever made?
Appears to be, maybe…
It’s a TRAILER dude
I just watched the movie in theater and it was a horror from the beginning to the end. Acting is brilliant and the visuals amazing. As a grown man I made sure my light was on when I got home...
I agree!! And I was so anxious and creeped out! It is now one of my favorites!
I love when the sister says that there's no such thing as monsters right before she's attacked by one. They actually hide beneath the dark and blind spots in this world, all you got to do is close your eyes or even look yourself in the mirror to find them.
Deep bro
What in the hell did you smoke bruh
True, I see a creepy monster everytime I look at myself in the mirror 😅
He is right, I saw one in comments section 😂😂
They definitely lurk in the dark pounching on us checking if we're afraid, once your scared, afraid good luck.
Horror movies haven't been horroring and not so scary to me these past few years but this trailer FOR SURE caught my attention and looks like a must watch!
Horror hasn’t been horroring for quiet some time. Agreed lol
Can't exactly remember where it was but I read an article a bit back about how the monster was apparently *too* scary? Like during test watches everyone started talking about how scary it was that the people running it noticed that they kept missing on plot stuff bc of it
But anyways!!
I watched it, it was disappointing and frustrating.
this was not scary... this was mediocre steven king.....
WOW! I am about to watch this now. It looks super good. That is the adorable cute little girl from Bird Box. She is really talented. This story seems like something I would write.😍🥰❤
A horror trailer that actually gives me goosebumps & having me wanting to see it. Well done.
It’s been years since a good horror trailer has been well made.🔥
EDIT: I’ve seen the movie. Enjoyed it. Some jump scares got me. Some predictable/ some not. The atmosphere was great. So was the sound effects.
It gave me Stranger Things/ Lights Out vibes. The way the movie started has given me chills. I give it a 8/10. Wasn’t the best/ worst but I pretty much enjoyed it. The creature design was pretty cool. (🚨SPOILER ALERT🚨)Also, the way the creature threw the girl at the tv was both jaw dropping & hilarious.
If your a fan of Creature Features. Definitely would recommend!💪🏽
Yeah looking forward to watching this

@@philmcclenaghan7056 It looked pretty good, but sometimes that don't mean much.
This …. I like this. Original scary movie energy. Bring these type of movies back man. I’m excited for this
Still looks better than Halloween ends
Halloween Kills was better than Ends - there's a very low bar for Horror movies ever since Ends.
not saying much. ends was so bad
The ending was total disappointment, could have ended like that years ago. Felt rushed and lazy, terrible end of such a big movie.
This movie was pretty good, 7.5/10 in my opinion. It was so emotional, very sad with what the main family is going through. I really feel bad for the older daughter. The acting is really good. And the movie had awesome editing. The camera movement in some of the scenes where it was upside down first then the camera moved, was epic!
it didn't live up to it's hype
Why a 7.5?
@@Theanonymousspeaker Because 7.5 is just my own opinion. And to me, 7.5 is still good. Anything above 7 is good for me. Then a 8/8.5 is really good, and a 9/9.5 is really really great, and a 10 is an amazing masterpiece
@@chelsey1087 awww okay! Was just wondering. Because I’m going see it and when I here anything under a 8 i get skeptical 🤣 but thanks for getting back to me! 😇
@@Theanonymousspeaker No problem, enjoy the movie! :)
I love the "19" on the house number for a movie based on a Stephen King story. :)
Was looking for this comment.. seems not too many of us Dark tower fans that know the importance of 19 😁

This film brings into light the fear you have as a child that there’s something lurking in the dark
This short story scared me so bad as a kid. It led me down the path of reading everything scary because I wanted to face my nightmares. I owe Mr. King an enormous debt in that respect.
"He was the one you sent to kill f-ing Boogeyman." So glad to see John Wick in this movie. I'm excited
I still think the original two films from the early 2000s are highly underrated, but I’ll definitely give this a watch/chance.
Those don't have anything to do with this film. This is an original film based on the short story by Stephen King
There is a third one tho lol in 2008 not just 2

@@englishatheart Dont care
This is going to be such a great year for horror films!!!

@@MiloMilo-z7t I hope so too
This is the first horror movie that actually looks scary to me
😨😨
After the "baba yaga" jokes in Ant Man, David Dastmalchian being in this is fascinating AF.
This trailer will most definitely be better than the movie, because it is a masterpiece in of itself.
Nailed it
The mind of Stephen King always never make me disappointed at all👏👌
the movie is horrible... nothing to do with steven king... it is the movie itself that was not up to par... he knows this too but this is your timeline ... enjoy
I loved the Stephen King short story when I read it ages ago. This is another case of merely using the story as a jumping off point for a different storyline altogether, though it remains to be seen if they keep the original ending, and I suspect they may have. That being said, this does look good.
That ending fucked me up when I read it at like 2am Immediately stopped reading lol
Just when I’ve given up on horror films for good. This comes along. Guess it took really great production work, cast and producers to finally make one. I haven’t flinched in so long lol I got goosebumps from this. Can’t wait till it hits the screens!
@@jj-mj5bc smile was kinda boring impo
Any recommendations?
Looks like any other horror movie to me
the monster under your bed isn't a tale, it's a nightmare.
This is just perfect I've seen all of Vivian's movies and she deserves a LOT more roles
Never watched Boogeyman (2005) but I love Boogeyman 2 (2008). This looks great definitely seeing more jump scares in this version.
This isn't connected to those old movies in anyway besides the name this new movie is an adaptation of Stephen Kings Boogeyman short story in which the other ones were not
Honestly good. Those two movies were horrendously bad.
Never saw either of those, but I saw The Boogey Man (1980) and I wish I hadn't. Not because it's scary, but because it's awful.
I never watch all of those movies before, but i have watch "John wick" the dude who kill them.. really great movie btw
Perfect trailer! Holy moly...that first 1:20 is sublime!! Love that bass-y warping sound along with the cello (violin?)😮
Usually it's the Music 🎵 that Supercedes And brings About the Atmosphere Wow Bassy like that;))cheers!

Can't Wait To See John Wick's Cameo In This Movie
And he says "Wake the f*ck up, girl. We got a boogeyman to hunt."
Don't worry, you must call John Wick.
The 2023 horror movies give us the 2000s horror movies VIBES ❤
I just watched this a minute ago. This truly is one of the scariest films I have ever watched and I have seen so many horror films I don't scare easily.
I was on edge throughout the whole film.
Great acting too.
10/10
Watching alone with headphones is recommended?
But did it make you sleep with the light on after? 😊
no it is not... it is not scary what so ever... the only decent movie you had since 2018 is that movie leave no trace from 2018... since then everything is zero
This trailer looks awesome. Hope the movie lives up to this. Genuinely curious

We really need more horror movies in 2023😍
New scream movie was decent
@@msk9132 yes but decency is not good enough for us 😅
I thought Malum was good though lots and lots of jump scares😮😅😮.
This is not what I envisioned as a child as the boogeyman, I’d been terrified too 😂
props to the kids that are acting in horror movies :) I think it's pretty tough for them and for the producers to make sure they won't be traumatized
They called him baba yaga ...
If John Wick doesn't come in the end and kill the fuckinn boogeyman. I am giving this movie 0 stars.
Funny but doubt it…
You can't say John Wick's name in vain.
I have not seen a really good scary movie in a while. I’m ready for this one!! 🤗

"It's the thing that comes for your kids when you're not paying attention."
Oh my god, it's the Child Protective Services!
The short story this is based on is one of the scariest pieces of fiction I've ever read.
If you’re gonna take it out the theaters at least put it out for main stream 😒 now I have to wait like another month to watch it
Right like where is this movie

Monsters are real and they live in the Continental
Based on a book by Stephen King with key words: Boogeyman, Producer of Stranger Things, someone getting kicked the face by the boogeyman, and John Wick Origins. This is going to be good.
This could either be a uniquely different horror or an generic cliche jumpscare horror. Can't tell but I'm excited and hope it's great

Remember those names Scott Beck & Bryan Woods, writers of 'A Quiet Place'. then u know you're in for a ride
"A movie that isn't a cut and paste from the book like most movie adaptations? I'm so shocked!"
@@spinnyspins9135 "A youtube comment that missed the point entirely and instead becomes a reflection of the pathetic person behind the screen making the comment? I'm shocked."

At first i was like why is everybody mentioning John wick. Then I was like oh yeah baba yaga 🤣🤣🤣🤣
people are silly.
I love it.
Can you please explain what John Wick has to do with this movie?
@@Blablabla20093 nothing at all. Bit on the 1st John wick movie they called him the baba yaga which translated to the boogeyman. In the movie. Of course that's not what baba yoga means but it's how they explain it on the movie. So people are saying this is John Wicks beginnings as the boogeyman. People are just being silly.
I think we've already learned from both trailers that this will be nothing like the short story.
Litrelly fell asleep during half of this movie in the cinemas and i NEVER fall asleep at the cinemas
Must say, it had some pretty good scares and glad they only showed snippets of 'The Boogeyman'. Love when trailers hide the villain
