Newbie here on the tail end of menopause.... 55 and looking to move into the gray. I have tried a few times and couldn’t go thru with it. My hair is thick like yours. I love how you mention to embrace and enjoy the journey. Thank you for being a voice for us women. ❤️
I've always loved short hair on others but too afraid to go very short myself (thank you ex-husband for my low self esteem). When I decided to embrace my gray I let my roots grow out for a couple months then had my stylist flipper cut my hair on the longest setting. All I had was the tray left but it was so look short. I hated it for about two weeks, then I realized how easy to take care of and I was getting compliments all over the place. Now I'm rocking a short spiky beautiful silvery white hairstyle and I actually look ten years younger than I did before. Best thing I ever did!!!
I had already started letting my hair grow out in 2019. It was getting really nasty looking. Then covid hit, and I was able to hibernate over the winter and finish letting my hair grow out, out of the public eye. It was great.
I turned 50-years old last October, and decided stop the dyes, and highlights. My hair is very long, but I have been having it trimmed-------every six to eight weeks. It is a slow process, but I can already see the difference in the texture and thickness. It is starting to look so much healthier. Thank-you for all of the GREAT advice Nikol. God Bless!
Great Video clip! Forgive me for chiming in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you ever tried - Dinanlinson Bright Colour Approach (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is a great one of a kind product for learning how to get your natural hair color back without the normal expense. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my work buddy got excellent success with it.
Cheers for the Video! Excuse me for chiming in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you ever tried - Millawdon Goodbye Gray Trick (do a search on google)? It is an awesome one of a kind product for learning how to reverse gray hair fast minus the hard work. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate got cool results with it.
Great video Nikol. I have not dyed my hair for 19 months, it certainly is a journey, one that has made me realise a lot more about myself in many ways. The results now are certainly worth it, I love my hair more than any other time in my life, I am 69 years of age. 🌸
I’m 61 and completely agree with you! My hair feels so much better, I love the silver that’s revealing itself ( 9 months in) and my scalp has changed for the better too. It’s so empowering to stand in my authenticity and say “this is me, and I love me exactly as I am!”
You are my guru for makeup and embracing my going gray. Thank you for being so gracefully real and uplifting. You are gorgeous all the way to the core.
Nikol, I am so glad you are here. I love you! You are just beautiful. I am near 65, starting going gray at 35, and have been completely white/silver since 2012. I am so happy to see this video as I fight the yellowing and am searching for solutions. You are right about gray hair requiring special care. Thank you for the effort you put into these outstanding videos. They are so well done. I am going to try your recommendations.
Nikol, I have seen you in many modeling pictures in past years and I know I have posted many of them to my pinterest boards "Ravishing People" and "Beautifully Aged". I am sporting my gray hair now and I actually enjoyed my transition after dying my hair for many years. I have one more haircut to finally get the end result of no hair dye. Thank you for your video, your gray blouse compliments your beautiful gray hair! Incidentally, I didn't know you were a RUclipsr until you did the beautiful makeup on Sandra Hart, now I can enjoy another inspiring incredible woman on RUclips, Thank you Nikol
My mom and I ordered the purple pantene a couple months ago. My mom has stunning silver hair, mine is just beginning the process, but she has a lot of brassy color. One use of the pantene purple and the brass was nearly gone. After two months her hair is quite stunning. We love it, smells great, and doesn't stain your tub or shower. Great stuff.
Tell her to spray her dry hair liberally with heat protector before flat ironing or hot curls. Its burn your gray hair and makes it brassy looking. Have to grow it out again. Heat protector galore.
I'm going to embrace my gray hair. I see shinny white and silver and I thought why not!! I love all the help you've given me on this video plus the make up.
I just found your channel and am loving your videos. I am 60 years old and growing out my color and going grey. So excited for the journey and this chapter.
This is Paula Goins-Walters. I just want to say a BIG Thank You for recommending the Better Not Younger Wake-up Call Shampoo and Conditioner. I am growing out my gray and wanted to try and hurry just a little. The hairdresser ruined my beautiful healthy hair. Due to her lack of experience my hair was broken off and looked burned. I thought that my hair was just falling out, because I had NO idea that it was so damaged. I was afraid! I ordered this product and was amazed at the results. My hair now has a different texture, it shines, it's soft, and has volume. I am preparing to order the Butter Masque. This product is like a miracle in a bottle! Can't wait for this journey to be complete. Thank you for your knowledge, your kindness and your encouragement!
You are always looking your best in your videos but you are absolutely stunning in this video….thank you for your positive attitude and all the love you share with your viewers Nicole…
MY goodness/// NIKOL you are gorgeous inside and out!! what an inspiration you have been for me during a tricky time in my life! I appreciate you. God bless
i never dyed my hair but have been plucking my gray. i was scared, until i saw you on youtube! you are beautiful! i am only 37 and i am at that point that if i keep plucking i will have bald spots. i decided to stop and can't wait until i'm gray like you because you look beautiful.
Lovely Video! Forgive me for chiming in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you ever tried - Millawdon Goodbye Gray Trick (google it)? It is a good one of a kind guide for learning how to reverse gray hair fast minus the headache. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my mate at last got great success with it.
Excellent Video clip! Sorry for chiming in, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you researched - Millawdon Goodbye Gray Trick (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a great one off guide for learning how to reverse gray hair fast without the hard work. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my GF after many years got excellent success with it.
Lovely Video clip! Forgive me for butting in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you heard about - Millawdon Goodbye Gray Trick (just google it)? It is a great one of a kind product for learning how to reverse gray hair fast minus the hard work. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my close friend Aubrey at very last got amazing success with it.
Hey There! I turned 50 last August and had decided at that point to still colour my hair that's had lots of grey since my 20s. But recently my scalp has grown so sensitive to colour products, - I think because I'm also menopausal - that I've decided to just let the greys show! Thanks to you and others on YT, I've decided to embrace my grey! Now, if only I could get my 78 year old Mom (who still colours her hair) to as well! :-) Out of all the people in my life, I think she will be the hardest to convince that grey hair is awesome!
Did you have dark hair or light hair. I have dark hair and I hate the way it looks with the gray coming in at the roots so I just color it again. My sister in law is a blonde so she is not having any problems.
Thank you so much with your inspirational voice especially on gray hair. I have dyed my hair red for ages. But I let it grow out I didn't know I could love it took 1year. But it did take time and patience. It was worth it, it also it helps when your husband gives you great support I'm 72 yrs young. Nicole your hair is beautiful!!!
Hi Nicol, This is a thorough, helpful and very timely review of your favorite products for grey/silver hair. I have learned from experience to trust your recommendations. Thank you.
So happy to hear Pantene relaunched the silver expressions line. I loved it and can’t wait to order. I’m 56 and went gray a few years ago on the suggestion of my hair dresser and 3 kids in college. I cut my hair to a bob and waited for it all to grow in. It’s now below my shoulders and similar in color to yours. I get so many compliments. I’m so glad I went natural.
After 15 years I decided last month to stop coloring and embrace my gray. My hair was dark brown so just had some highlights put in to help me grow it out. I feel free already even though I have several months to go to get there.
You’re hair is gorgeous. I’m still trying to mentally get into the gray. I stopped dying because my hair wasn’t healthy, found out my new hairstylist was using inferiors products, but decided to keep the gray. My hair doesn’t like heat anymore, so that’s a difficulty to overcome.
Love this video ❤️ I will be 65 this November and I have Always had long hair, which I have not colored. So I am going grey and I'm embracing it. I consider it my highlights 😉
First time viewer. It is so strange how the universe works. I'm turning 70 this year and contemplating going gray, even though all my friends are saying NO don't do it you'll look old. Up pops your video. You look fabulous. Will have to look through your videos to see how you do it. I just hate that look of growing out gray and the white roots. Well will have to get brave enough. I have shoulder length hair.
I have been using Phyto's purple shampoo since I started transitioning to grey in April 2019 (for Canadian ladies you can pick this product up at Shoppers Drug Mart). I actually love all the colours of my hair right now - almost looks reverse ombre. People stop me on the street and ask me if it is natural. I am turning 60 in a week and have never felt better. Love your look.
I know this is a 2 year old video, but I've just watched it now. Thank YOU for the great advice... I have purchased some produs and am quite excited to try out the products I ordered.
Thank you for this video I usually hide my hair because it's gray under a wig self conscious of what people but think about me I feel so much better now thanks for sharing the products for gray hair that was just the lift I need🙋💜🎊🎉🎊🎉💋💯
I make my own purple shampoo with gentian violet so I can put my own degree of purple intensity in it, and I can use what ever shampoo I like. Also I can put the tone in my conditioners and masks. I do color the back of my hair darkest brown to black to mix with my white hair in the front. I have tried some of your makeup. So far I have loved everything. Thanks for your encouraging and sensitive shows. Song
It's so nice that you encourage women. I went back to gray to stay.I love it and finally got it cut the way that works about a month ago. I do not do anything, but wash it and it shines like satin.
Thank you so much! It's so frustrating when you go to your stylist or colorist and ask them for advice and they know nothing!!! I've asked different people for years if hair sunscreen exists. I've asked about scalp health. I've asked so many questions and never got answers. Thank God there are RUclips videos with influencers now to educate people. I'm half way growing out my grey and I love it. I've ordered some of the products that you've suggested and can't wait to try them out! I have a question: Can you talk about what coloring your hair every 2-3 weeks for 15 years does to your scalp and hair? I've asked everyone, and nobody will fess up. I believe all the coloring damaged my scalp. About 3 months after I stopped coloring my hair, massive amounts of hair fell out of my head and now my hair is very thin, which it never has been in my life. I know that aging is part of it, but I'm wondering how much environmental toxins like hair color, plays a part. Btw, just got the worst haircut in my life! I've moved and haven't found a good stylist yet. It's so frustrating!! I call my haircut a "$50 Mom haircut:" it looks like my mother cut it, but it cost $50. Can't believe how many people out there in the beauty industry are just pure hacks. So bummed!
White Dove - if you are on Facebook ask to join Gray and Proud. You’ll have to answer 3 question for the admins to admit you. Great supportive group of women sharing their feelings about graying, ideas to style going gray, products to use, etc.
Hi Nicole you do look nice with your Gray hair but l try it is very difficult for me the texture of the hair l don't like l think is a lot of work to try it to maintain this tape of hair is great that you can do it and olso look good on you
thanks so much for listing your products. I've been going through several of your videos to create & compare lists. in regards to the scalp...I've found that a scalp brush helps so much more than using my fingers/nails. thanks again! I'm loving all your videos!!!
I just found your you tube channel and you are absolutely so gorgeous and inspiring!! I am now going to give letting my natural gray grow out. Kinda nervous but the products and makeup for olive skinned women has given me the push to go for it. Thank you for your generous share.
Love your vlogs, so informative and you always introduce good products that aren’t always well known. Thank you Nikol for your knowledge, inspiration and beauty❤️
Sometimes we have to validate ourselves, first; I learned that. The journey will be cut short with the feeling of defeat if we don't take charge of our inner-attitude!
Hi Nikol , I have frizzy gray hair, I’ve tried many different products and nothing calms these frizzy . I have thick hair and I’ve been going gray for awhile . I’ve been to Ulta store and tried their products nothing works to get rid the frizzy . I to live in the south. My hairdresser tells me I need more moisture I’ve done that too still frizzy . 😫 please tell me what works and how to use it thank u nikol
I'm nearly 68yrs, my hair same colour & texture as yours. Loving the low maintenance, but lately I've got yellowing over my ears. I've tried several salon purple shampoo, but most don't work or make my hair purple, even scalp! Any advice, please?
Nikol, thank you for dedication to helping those of us dealing with not only our silver/platinum hair but also our aging issues as well. I am almost totally silver now, it has been about 12 years in the making 😳. I love you videos and your products. Much continued success on your aging series! Btw, may I ask about this gorgeous silver blouse? I have been looking for a silk blouse this shade of silver. Also, have you done a video on jewelry color choices? Gold- silver?
HI Nikol, thank you for the videos on caring for gray hair. I am in the process and am almost all gray now. I have a question about the color you are wearing. As a latina I stayed away from gray clothing most of my life because it made me look washed out. I was recently gifted a gray scarf and I had to ask. Does our color scheme change? Should I be wearing different colors now that I am gray?
Thank you for offering the products that you have talked about here today. It’s always helpful to find products that are good for gray hair. I was wondering if you were to make up on different kinds of gray hair. For example I have champagne gray here and have some blonde still in my strands and struggle with getting the right colors with my fair complexion. There is salt and pepper Grace there are people with white hair. You get the point, people who look several different ways with several different colors of gray hair :-). And, it would be helpful to have someone on your channel who does color analysis. Just show how gray hair affects the colors you should be wearing for example. These are just suggestions and I hope they turn into something concrete down the road.
I truly appreciate this as I'm transitioning to gray. I've been using the purple shampoo and conditioner and it has brightened my hair. My confidence has gone up because folks have told me it looks good on me. Frustrating why I didnt do it MUCH sooner but I'm in a really good place and dont feel awkward anymore. My hair is midway down my back but have only 3 inches of grey and I'm DETERMINED to keep going! I've been advised to get regular trimming but I'm in it for the long haul so I wont be doing the big chop..I'm looking forward to the changes that play ahead for my "grey days" The lipstick is ON POINT! Is it out yet?
Thanks for the Video clip! Excuse me for butting in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you researched - Millawdon Goodbye Gray Trick (do a google search)? It is a good one off guide for learning how to reverse gray hair fast minus the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my cousin at very last got cool success with it.
I will be 61 soon and let my hair grow out. It is growing out very white. My 85 year old mom has snow white hair. Do you think these products would be good for whiter/gray hair?
I realize I'm *very* late to this video, Nikol (I've just discovered your channel and love your style!), but I have a couple of questions for you. Does the purple dye in silver-hair lines stain at all? (Skin, tiles in the shower, bathtub.) I've heard some horror stories about that. And I'd also like your opinion on non-purple products for grey and silver hair. The one in particular I have in mind is Oribe's Silverati line, which appears to be white. Thanks so much! 💗
I loved this video and went online to try and order all the products. I am Canadian and could not find the Better Not Younger line anywhere..found it on the HSN..but they do not ship to Canada!!! Arghh..so frustrating. Do you have any other info for me on where I could get them or how to ship them to Canada? I did manage to find and order the Photo products.
Hi I’m 44 and my hair color growing in is white and I decided to go natural last month so my demarcation line is very prominent and it’s not easy but I understand it’s who I really am becoming, with that being said, I have never thought of the new fact of having to go on job interviews during this process! This has been weighing on my mind I don’t want to color again but I’ve never thought of this... I basically work administrative positions and look is important in these positions. It’s concerning me to the point I think maybe I would be passed up because of it honestly, I know my resume, references and skills will speak for itself and I shouldn’t be working for a company that’s going to overlook that just because of gray or white in my hair but the reality is still that, and that could happen ...I just want to be confident in the situation and I don’t see how so I’d love to hear if anyone has gone through this and if so Nikol if you can speak on the topic would be so helpful thank you so much🦋🙏🏼👩🏼🦳
Play with different styles, hairbands, clips, etc and try to find a way to wear it that reduces a part - which draws attn to the demarcation line. Power suit, a great lipstick and just own it! It could wind up that your confidence in being yourself sets you apart from the rest of the crowd 👍🏼😎 Good luck and stay strong 💟
I purchased the better not younger hair mask and really like it. I am trying now to figure out if there is a heat protectant that is better for silver hair. Do you have any thoughts on that? I had trouble with my front getting brassy in a couple of areas due to flat iron and just cut it all off down to probably 1 1/2”. I am just now trying once more to let it grow out because I like some length on it. I just don’t want to get that brassy spot back. I think that silver hair is much harder to keep silver. But, having said that I love mine!!!
Tammy D, I would love to know the answer to this! My dark brown hair has had silver threads for 37 years now, and my patience is wearing thin. Clearing my hairbrush produces only a dust-coloured nest :(.
I was happy with how my gray hair was growing out. But I thought I would try the purple shampoo, but it pulled out the ugly gray in my hair, I couldn't wait to wash it out of my hair, never again!
I curious do you have a Conditioner or detangler product you recommend for grey hair? I have long hair, and I noticed you mentioned Shampoos, no nothing else. I really could use help with Conditioner that detangles that best to use on grey hair? God bless and thanks sincerely
Started to go gray at 40 and been ever since for the last 27 years. Getting compliments and loving the low maintenance.... go for it, ladies.
I started my gray hair journey at 63, I’m now 70 and I’m enjoying the journey. I stopped coloring it in 2013, had it trimmed and just let it grow.
I'm only 23 years old, my head is full of gray hair and I like that. You have the most beautiful gray hair ever!!!

@jijieforsythe - I never plucked my gray because I remember my grandmother telling me that if you pulled out one, seven will comes to it’s funeral. 😉

I have short thick silvery hair and I love it, the best thing I use is Dove Frizz Proof Cream Serum! The shine will knock your eye out lol and $5
I absolutely LOVE the silver blouse on you ! Silver and gray are my new favorite colors to wear. I’ve been growing out my gray for 8 months now ❤️
Did you have dark hair or light hair. I have dark hair and I hate the way it looks with the gray coming in at the roots so I just color it again. My sister in law is a blonde so she is not having any problems.
terwya I have dyed blonde hair. My gray is darker than the blonde, but it blends pretty well.
Yes! That blouse! Nikol is the best!!!
WOW! You look absolutely stunning in that silver blouse❣
Accepting ourselves and acknowledging ourselves. Such great advice.

I totally LOVE that your lipstick is called Mindset! Can't wait to try that!

Song
The idea what she's trying to say is that you can enjoy embrace and love this journey of accepting your grey light hair
I love the grey shirt you are wearing. suits your look beautifully.
It's so nice that you encourage women. I went back to gray to stay.I love it and finally got it cut the way that works about a month ago. I do not do anything, but wash it and it shines like satin.
What kind of haircut did you get?
I just turned 60..
And I am just starting to get some gray! I am brown with golden blonde high lights...For Now! Yours is Gorgeous.....
Nikol, thanks for sharing all of your products with us. I enjoyed watching your video:)
How many times has this woman used the words; My and I.....pretty amazing!
Love the message, embracing the transitional time, not cheating yourself from the lessons of this arc in a women’s life. 🙏💜🙏
Love the hair and your real self!
Just gorgeous 🥰
Your an inspiration to myself and all women!!👠👜🌹🥰
Thank you
I'm nearly 68yrs, my hair same colour & texture as yours.

You rock the silver blouse!
I love your hair, so thick, healthy, beautiful. Iam going through the greying phase and I can not wait to see myself in a sexy grey pixie.
Thank you Mindset lipstick comes out in January!!! Will be announcing on my Newsletter and Instagram.

Love what you said, it is a challenging journey but so interesting and exciting! Thank you for the encouragement !
Gray hair is easier than dying ever was! It is not difficult.😃
My hair is just the opposite of yours, I have fine, silver, naturally curly hair. Could you address product that would work for me.
What can you do to make gray hair shine?
I will be 61 soon and let my hair grow out. It is growing out very white. My 85 year old mom has snow white hair. Do you think these products would be good for whiter/gray hair?
Where did you get your beautiful blouse
You are so right about the five colors in my hair. But my husband likes my grey and five other colors in my hair.
Gorgeous woman, gorgeous hair.
Which Hair conditioner do you recommend for natural, non chemically treated gray hair
How about black skin...grey hair dye?plsss hlp
Hi Nikol, Will you please be specific as to the Mason Pearson brush you prefer. Loving the Better not Younger you recommend. Thank you.
Every time i get weak and almost gonna dye my hair i click on ur vidoe and puff im on silver way again
Thank u 😘
Where is the matte lipstick?! Please share the link 😍
Love your blouse! Where did you purchase it?
Why does gray hair grow in different directions especially naturally curly hair?
I love Better Not Younger products!!
There is. Lot of humity where I live and my hair is think and dry and coarse I need something to make my hair soft and smooth
Gosh she is gorgeous
Hello my gray is think and coarse how do I get my hair smooth, my gray hair is wirey
Aveda Blue Malva line. I am in love with my silvering hair.
Your hair is stunning like you!
I love ur hair, is it natural or did u dye it..
Does the purple shampoo look good on salt and pepper hair? I have grays all over, but still more (drab) pepper than silver.
When will you be selling your products in Canada through Amazon.ca or Sephora?
Do you use lowlights and highlights on your hair?
I curious do you have a Conditioner or detangler product you recommend for grey hair? I have long hair, and I noticed you mentioned Shampoos, no nothing else. I really could use help with Conditioner that detangles that best to use on grey hair? God bless and thanks sincerely
I'm in the growing out my silver stage. I have some dull brown and wondering if there is any type of gloss you can recommend to bring out some shine?
Grey in my hair I’m on that journey. But these grays in my eyebrows are driving me nuts. Any suggestions?
Is your hair all natural color or do you have lowlights. Could you please let me know. Thank you
Your hair is gorgeous! My hair is thinning out!
