Great video! I also own a 2008 Viper convertible (blue w/ silver stripes) w/ about 5,700 miles, & it surprised me how much the value has jumped up on it over the past couple years.
Thankfully I was smart & lucky to also land an allocation for a 2017 Viper ACR Extreme that was special ordered as a “1 of 1” spec in a unique blue that nobody else ordered with white racing stripes (basically copying the color scheme of the Shelby Daytona Coupe). I only have 370 miles on it to date, and I’m blown away by how values have been soaring on all ACR’s the past year!
If I were you, I’d keep your 2008 because I think we’re only going to see Viper values continue to skyrocket as all new cars sold in the future become entirely electric. The nostalgia factor of these incredible kings of the road & track will only continue to grow, as they were the last of so many things, and combined with looks that never seem to age & providing one of the best pure analog driving experiences, their future as an incredible investment is nearly guaranteed. 🏎💨

This is a huge bummer. I’ve loved the Viper since I was 4. Always dreamed of owning one. When I was in high school you could get one for around 40K. Think the collectors might have pushed me out of the market for good unless I want a beat RT10. I want a driver GTS but I don’t think I will ever be the type to spend 6 figures or even near that on a car. I know you can get them for under 60 now, but by the time I get that together…who knows.

Seeing a Viper around where I live is like seeing Sasquatch.

I love that this is happening.. I bought a 2001 GTS with 4578 miles on it 3 weeks ago.. not realizing that the Viper market had recently begun to surge. I really enjoy the car so far, but now I'm hesitant to drive it as much as I'd like. Parts availability (OEM windshield anyone?), condition degradation, and the prospect of devaluation per mile are all in the back of my mind. Right up until the point where I hit WOT and the Hennessey (yes, I know that is a controversial subject) stroker under the hood comes alive.. then it all fades away. Thanks for the video.

I'm in the exact same boat! The 2008 I have in the video is too enjoyable to drive to leave it parked, but also, it's starting to come to that point where I'm worried about some of the same things you were going through. Parts availability for my original 2000 was one of the factors behind me trading up for something newer. Enjoy it!

Ben, is your 01 GTS Sapphire Blue by chance? How much did you pay for it? I have a 1 of 49 Sapphire Blue ACR with Silver stripe car that I paid $55k for back in 2017. It had 5500 miles on it. Now it has 12,000 miles on it. Congrats on your new toy btw.

Just finished everything on a 2003 SRT10 convertible. Needed tires and a few minor fixes but picked up for $51,000. Clean with 25k miles. I’m very excited, I’ve loved them for 1/4 century!

I bought my 2015 TA 2.0 three years ago with 6K km mileage. Now it has 12K km and a steady increase in price. A year and a half ago I missed opportunity to buy the SRT10 Roadster with about 10K km for 80K, after that the prices went up ... Now I'm thinking about buying some like that, but with low mileage they are much more expensive now...
    Thanks for great video!

Blue white gts is not rare. This was the only gts color in 96 and 97. I believe black and dark blue gts variants are the rarest. IMO gen 2 gts will be very valuable.

Tough choice. I'm having the same issue with my car , not a Dodge Viper but a 2006 Pontiac GTO . I have owned the car for 10 years, love it ,sweet ride but I just don't get to drive it enough. It's only got 54000km on it .

MId 2010's ACRs are selling for 2x the original MSRP now. A lot of people are buying them and sending them to Nth Moto and Calvo Motorsports for 1300-3000whp twin turbo builds. They're seriously amazing macines.

    Another great video.
One additional contributing factor to the values increasing, is that the supply of clean titled examples continues to dwindle. These can be a handful to drive. They don’t mix well with rain. Many owners tend not to drive them, so those new looking tires - are really 10 year old hockey pucks waiting for an insurance claim of an unsuspecting new owner. Just checked wrecked exotics, or look at the FB Viper boards - its like a monthly wake. I know this first hand because I totaled my 3rd one. But like yourself, I was already hooked on them - so I replaced it with another within a few weeks. I drive mine. To me they are a dream car, not an investment - but they do pay dividends in SMILES😎

I say if u happy to have one why sell for profit. i use to like Ferrari and lamos alot cause design or shows but now since since seen viper show i got hooked on vipers by design and prefer the red paint over other paint jobs any. cool to see and maybe some day get a ride in one by chance anytime but guess it like riding in a corvette but just faster idk. but had chance to get a ride in corvette from friend years ago so nice to feel the speed and engine roar as it drive down street any. not sure they have vipers at dealerships to show off or sell any if not making no more but be cool to see one just for show anytime.
