electric is the future of nothing transportation wise. the electric grid will never be able to handle it, and the batteries will always be too weak, and too excpensive. it would be the end of vehicles able to last more than 10 years. the expense would kill people. motor sports would be extinct, and car shows would be gone. everything would be a throw away vehicle.

Literally no one doubts the performance of electric. But clearly, the overall practicality of it isnt there yet.
Motocross isn’t exactly about practicality anyways

Well now, i never considered all the races I'd start winning if i just bought electric. Oh wait. I don't race. I commute in sub zero temps, and take 1,000 mile road trips.
Electrics aren't criticized for being slow, or low performance. They are criticized for impracticality and affordability. Availability of resources and longevity of parts, too. My '89 Ford pickup and my KLR650 contain no lithium, Cobalt or neodymium, and will continue running well into the 2040s and beyond so long as they're maintained with cheap and common parts.

Honestly for motocross electric is op. The power delivery and traction control are in a whole different class than gas bikes. Overall I believe electric is the future of racing. But for road use i still think gas is better.
electric is the future of nothing transportation wise. the electric grid will never be able to handle it, and the batteries will always be too weak, and too excpensive. it would be the end of vehicles able to last more than 10 years. the expense would kill people. motor sports would be extinct, and car shows would be gone. everything would be a throw away vehicle.

The biggest downside in my opinion is the lack of noise and gears, they are soulless.
what do you mean by top end?
max performance? Just build one with a bigger engine.
I'd say the biggest downside is how hard it is to find a good mix between low weight, power and range because you can only have two of those right now.
Low weight, high power -> no range
high range, high power -> unbearable weight
high range, low weight -> no power
Maybe with better batteries this can be resolved at some point.
