The longer I looked at the painting that you shared, the more I fell in love with it. The pink and the hint of yellow in the horizon just took my breath away!!! Your landscapes are definitely a favorite for me!!! Your observations and rendering of the tree limbs from last week's video have had me memorized all week as I have observed the trees in my landscape!!! I had always reckoned the tree limbs to flow smoothly like a river rather than to be angular as you so wisely pointed out Reese!!! WOW 🤯😲😳!!!! You have had me rethinking and reevaluating my observations since!!! I also have to confess that I didn't see the beauty in a nearly dead tree as you did until this painting. While I watched you paint today, it came to me!!! Certainly, the curving structure of the tree, all dark and moody against such an exquisitely beautiful and color infused sky speaks to something deep inside the heart of the viewer. It has a sense of the wabi sabi which is such a metaphor for life. Thank you for sharing your work with us Reese. You have a depth to your work that very few artists possess. While I love all of the paintings that you shared today, today's painting is my favorite... for many reasons...one being the fact that I feel a part of that one because I was able to watch it come into existence. Secondly, The sky felt very true to those that I have often observed and the loose color application along with the scratchy lines of grasses gave it a very realistic feeling while not being a piece that you spent months to execute. It seems to me to be a reflection of the artist in that it was not pretentious or exacting, rather it was delightful and relaxed and frolicksum. 🌿
Wow, what a heartfelt comment. Thank you so much. I am so glad you enjoyed the video. I do love trees, but I've always found the structure of trees either in the winter or on their dying state to be more haunting and maybe baring of the souls of the trees... thus more interesting. I'm glad that tip helped in their structure. Of course, rules always vary, but I think it's often true with trees. Have a gorgeous week 🙏📚🧣🖌🎨☕️⚘️
Thank you for sharing more of this exploration, I love watching you work! You captured the scene so beautifully. 🤩 I’d say the last one is my favourite too. There’s something fascinating about the tree and the colours and the light really bring out the magic of that time of the day. 🌅
Thank you so much, Dawn. I totally agree. It's a magical time of the day. Sometimes, I even get to see a deer or something come out as the night creaps closer. As always, thank you so much ☺️ 🎨 🖌 🦌☕️🧣
I loved the sketchy one. The colors are muted and you can see that it is nearing the end of a day! Loved watching you work and listening to your thought process! 🙂
You are very kind. It's my favorite, too. That last page is in more my draftsman style while staying loose. It was fun to make. I appreciate your encouragement. Enjoy your week. 😊🖌🎨🙏🧣
Good morning Reese! I love them all, but the last one is my favorite as well. Thank you for sharing your process with us. Great photography! Was that a drone shot in the beginning? What a peaceful way to start my day. Have a blessed week.
Yes, you are right, that was a drone shot. It's allowed me to get a few cool shots when it's cool outside. I really love that you found today's peaceful. It's always something I hope to achieve. I appreciate your support. You have a blessed week as well!!! 🫶✏️📚☕️🧣
