At first I was like “why is he going so slow” and then I realized he’s only done this in real life so he knows his limits and doesn’t want a crash to take him out, smart man!
Brooo my dad did the same thing when I put him in VR on iRacing. He wanted to drive the Indy car around watkins glenn (in test mode) but he wouldn’t go over like 90 mph the whole time. When I asked him why he was going so slow he’s like “I’m not tryna die today my heart can’t take this”😂😂😂
Man your so lucky to have family member show an interest in what you care about. He looks like he had fun and also understood your passion. Truly wholesome asf.
Many years ago when the original MicroProse GP came out, I as sitting at my desk with my old Logitech FF wheel driving along when my Dad poked his head around the door and asked what I was doing. I told him I was racing cars, asked him if he wanted a go and he replied “nah, I’ve had a few beers I’d be over the limit”
Ahh mate I had same sort of thing happen with my family, (though not as funny a remark!) It's like they saw the racing games and thought they'd be too hard or they couldn't do it and I'd be like "please!! You'll love it" but sadly they always made pleasant excuses or the dreaded "no no, you do it, I'll watch" and that was if they stayed in the room at all! Many many years later and I wish my old man was around to see how things have moved on. Still at least now I see my nephew start to get into games. That's been wonderful to see.

Sim racing sometimes is just sim driving. Its very peaceful and fun to be able to just hop in your lambo or rari or audi and whip around or go for a drive. Something almost any person would enjoy, whether you play games or not

Awesome to get a chance to do that, I wish my Dad was still around to share something like this with my setup, great on you for that you will never forget that great day.
The boy at start picking his nose and eating it is priceless. I have done the same thing with my dad when I got my sim set up , he did silverstone which he has been going to to watch for 30+ years and still managed to get lost while only going 45 mph max.
Haha! He has a habit of putting his hand in his mouth. It’s a comfort thing. Trying to break the habit at the moment actually. I don’t think he actually intended to eat boogers. Or maybe he did. Lol
@@boostedmedia he will brake the habit when he can reach the peddles and do the gears then you my friend will have to wait your turn lol awesome sim set up btw👍
Man, my grandpa is 67, he's been a truck driver for around 40 years now and has always been super into nascar. I've been wanting to buy a racing sim setup for some time now, with part of my reasoning being so that he could try it. If he likes it I would really like to get him one of his own. This video just furthered that desire. One time I had him try some racing games on controller and he really enjoyed it, so i think he would love to try this out.
Dong forget some of the older generation are complete hustlers when it comes to cars and motorbikes. like you hear stories in the family 'your dad was one hell of a driver in his day' then he has a go at your racing game and you are slack-jawed on his skill.
Now that's what I call a cool grandpa. I mean, all grandpa's are cool, but not many can tell they did this, after having seen the whole thing in real life as well. Hats down to him.
Oh, this awesome I loved it. I'm only about 4 months into this channel so I never knew your American side of the family that's cool mate. My mother's fam lives in the states so I've got U.S cousins from California which is cool. Even when they are older they never stop learning. Seeing your Father in law catch some slides, I was like Ohh look at that! The reflexes from his youth kicked in there. It was great to see. Great video man. 67 Mustang GT Oh baby!
When the kid started going “ooooooo oooo oooooo” when the old guy was talking about his race experience it scared me I thought someone was screaming in my house
Your grandpa looks so well and sound I wish I could enjoy things the same with my grandpa but sadly he has dementia since I was very young so I don’t have those experiences and I think he hardly knows me
When my Dad tried out my "Rig" (VR, Fanatec Wheel, Assetto Corsa, Mods), he didnt drive over 40-50 mph in 15 minutes because he was afraid i think. For me, i find all this simulation, way way more intense when you drive longer and way faster at the limits, cutting curves, then for me it startet to become so damn intense. Wished he would have tried it longer and faster, too. In real he drives often and sometimes very fast with 230 hp car.
Came here after watching the thumb injury video to see will tell his son to be careful of the of the steering wheel it could hurt him. A week later it nearly breaks will's thumb. Strange coincidence lol
I wish I started simracing before mine died, he would have loved it. My grandpa was one of those crazy "I'm going skydiving, I'm already at borrowed time so screw it" type of idiot. The man was indestructible, survived cancer 2 times, had a cerebral infarction, two heart attacks so got a pacemaker and a stoma because of partly removed bowls due to cancer. Died of just getting old at the age of 82 years. If I have put him in my rig with VR I would have needed a baseball bat to get him out of there 😅
I like the FOV. I can't afford 65" 4K monitors LOL. What sizes are you using here and angles/distance if you happen to know? Trying to price things out for a new setup..
These are 35inxh ultrawides but if I had my time again I’d go 32 instead. These were unnecessarily wide at the cost of height. Viewing distance was 800mm from my eyes. Angle was 60 degrees. Total width of the rig was 1.8m
