    What a great song!
    Perfectly sung.
I saw Percy sing this a few years ago in downtown Baton Rouge...in front of an all white R&B band.

Back in those days, the problems for black recording artists, were still bad.
Especially for, a country boy like Percy.

I was born, raised and still live in Tuscumbia, Alabama. It sits right beside Muscle Shoals. I wasn't born when this came out but this song will never lose it's relevancy. We love Mr. Sledge and even named the street he lived on in Leighton, after him. There have been a lot of songs come out of Muscle Shoals but it isn't well known. The area still has it's "small town" feel and while you can find yourself a bit bored from time to time due to the lack of things to do, it has been a wonderful area to have lived in. Fits me perfectly. Kudos to the geniuses who put such a moving song together. It is timeless.
