This song was from LUNA SEA's first album, released in the early 1990s. At that time, Japan's economy was in a downtrend, there was a sense of stagnation in society as a whole, and young people were in a pessimistic mood. Therefore, I interpret this song as a song that reflects the atmosphere of such urban Japan at that time, in which they repeatedly act in search of a temporary love to escape loneliness in the concrete jungle city, which seems like a deja vu. Thanks for introducing to LUNASEA. Peace from Japan
Regarding the lyrics, in the first few albums, they usually talk about 'hate', 'humanity' (in the bad way), 'regret' and something like that. But after the reunion, they have become more mature and they have had a new take in the lyrics as you can see from the album called luv (love) and cross. Although regret is still one of the biggest theme, now they are more about 'love', 'care' and 'humanity' (but in the good way). But their songs have also gone softer and quieter, does not mean that theyre bad, its just the old ones are too good to be compared to.
Luna Sea is one of my all-time favorite Japanese bands. Their music is so good. This is one of my favorite songs by them. Really nice riffs. If you don't mind slower songs, you should check out their song "gravity". It's a really cool song.
