Hello. I love what you did. I'm looking at purchasing 1995 dl3 that was converted already.
    1. What should I be concerned with
    2. What should I check
    3. Should I get the engine indirect by mechanic before purchase.
    4. It does say new ac units is required. Where can I check for cost of repeat? Would it be better to replace with separate units on top?
    4. Also there is a lake in the air tank. Is that for brakes and suspension system? What is the cost of that repair.
    Thank you so much.

Hi, sorry, I don’t have a lot of answers for you. You should definitely get a full inspection from a heavy duty mechanic that is familiar with coach buses.
And if you’re getting a coach bus, you may need a special license to drive it, depending on where you live. Thanks for watching 😄

      @equiprvrepair 10 месяцев назад +1

      1. Inspect the electrical panel under the drivers window. Looking for rusty connections, proper grounding. Overall rust on the body and undercarriage. Tires. Check fluids trans, oil, etc. check for leaking oil.
      2. Definitely pay a Heavy Duty Mechanic with bus experience to do a safety inspection.
      3. I was quoted $4000.00-$6000.00 Canadian to replace the AC on this coach. I would go with ACs on the roof, but they don’t operate while you are driving…. It really depends on where you are located and the weather you deal with.
      4. These buses have multiple tanks and are tied together .The main tanks supply the brakes and suspension. And the main tanks supply air to the auxiliary tanks. They also have auxiliary tanks that supply air to the window wipers, main door, air locks on the under storage doors. There’s also the wet tank that needs to be opened at the end of every trip which removes moisture from the air lines.
      Hopes this helps!

@equiprvrepair thank you very much for the info.
I will do some more research for mechanic to check.
I will most likely use your check list to give it a high level check to determine if I will proceed further.
The owner has been very helpful and straightforward on the phone.
      Thanks again.

The bus we have is the longest bus they commonly make, so even if we started over, we wouldn’t have any more space to work with, we would just have to try to change the layout, which I don’t think would change a whole lot….
