      I’ve never seen a bus build that didn’t have the “bunking system” for the kids. The parents usually emphasize that each child “picked the colors and decorations ” for their space. All put in separate lights and electrical sockets for each child. So if the need a fan or to charge their devices it was available. The parents seem to always have the bedroom in the back for privacy. It’s rare I’ve watched a build that the bedroom systems aren’t set up like this. It would be interested in seeing a different type of layout. Something out of the ordinary …

    I've seen probably hundreds of bus tour videos & when I read the title "family of 10" I knew it was going to be either a complete fail or complete win & you guys of course NAILED IT! I know being a mother 7 myself that it's not always as it is in the video but still the design itself is clearly what keeps everything having "a home" so everyone knows where to find whatever they need but most importantly where to put it back after usage! The basics of food, clothes, school, a few things that each wants in their personal space keeps everything minimal, decluttered & mindful of what's truly important! I just discovered your channel & I'm excited to binge watch your videos but I'm guessing that you guys spend the majority of your time outside as weather permits which is what makes my childhood memories so great. We spent our after school hours outside everyday until bedtime. With far too many children growing up these days w/ a screen as their sitter, best friend & playtime it's SO GREAT seeing family's like yours allowing the great outdoors to be your children's playground & teacher! No doubt they'll all grow up to the type of citizens this world needs MORE of! Thank you for allowing us a peak into your beautiful life & for being the example that hopefully more & more families aspire to live like. 🙏

    I love the fact that you gave so much room to your children and kept only a bed for urself. I've seen some that the children got only a bed and the parents had a whole room. I've always felt that was very selfish because the children doesn't have a say in their lifestyle and are basically forced to live in cramp quarters. But you obviously love your children dearly to have so much of your bus dedicated to them. So much of your tour was about how things were made suitable for the children, it really warms my heart.
    Thank you for being an awesome parent.

    Wow. First time seeing any of your videos and I'm so impressed with your design. I've seen other families that gave the parents a large bedroom and took up lots of valuable space for their own things, leaving their children with very little room. You guys are taking up as little space for yourselves as possible in order to give your children long bunk areas they can actually stretch out in and enjoy. And the toddler bed is genius! I hope being able to stay in the room with you helped make his move into his own "big boy" bed much easier.
    Loved every second of this video! Again, just so amazed at the planning that went into your design so that you could give your family plenty of room to grow and thrive. From the long couches to the long bunks - just everything about your home shows how dedicated to your family you are. I'm surprised you haven't cut out a skylight or something over your son's bunk so he can sit up straight again - well, until the next growth spurt, that is 😆 You're simply amazing.
    I want to see more of this beautiful family - your happy little helper is absolutely adorable. Had to subscribe. Thank you for all you do for your family. Keep making magical memories for them ❤️

    The first large family I’ve ever seen actually prioritise their kids comfort over their own. You have no floor space in ur bedroom and even gave your kids enought room to sit up in bed. Welldone for that because most other large families tend to say ‘I prioritise my kids comfort’ but then have a king sized bed and tonnes of floor space in their own bedroom, while their kids are all crammed in shoe boxes. 😊

    This conversion is stunning and looks like a beautiful home spacious enough to accommodate a large family. But one bathroom for a family of 10??? I saw a double decker bus conversion with a family of 8 that isn't nearly as well designed for 8 as this bus is for 10; however, their bus has 2 toilets and a separate, standalone shower which is both practical and genius for obvious reasons. It's just odd for a build of this quality and size that there was thought put into installing a piano, but none put into a installing a second toilet downstairs which they clearly could have done. Nevertheless, well done!

    • @BoydFamilyAdventures
      @BoydFamilyAdventures  2 года назад

      Thank you for the kind words! Our original design had the bathroom closer to the back of the bus, between the bunk beds and the master bedroom, but the wheel wells were the problem…. There are limitations when converting a bus that you don’t think of until you get in there and are actually doing it! We have actually thought of converting a double decker in the future…. We shall see!!

    • @adribourgeois
      @adribourgeois 2 года назад +35

      Hello! I’m the eldest child in this crazy beautiful bus.❤️
      I understand what you’re trying to say. But I personally disagree with this whole modern day “teenagers need to be alone” idea that people are obsessed with. I believe that family members(especially teenagers) need to be close(emotionally and physically) with their parents and siblings. That said; I also believe that younger people have an ingrained need for silence and seclusion at times. Living in a bus doesn’t eliminate our ability to create this. I can go for a walk in the pasture alone, and sit in silence with only my thoughts, just listening to the wind. Or when the other kids go out somewhere to play, I can stay behind and sit on my bed listening to music or reading a book. If a parent goes out to run errands, I can tag along with them and talk just one-on-one for a while. This goes for all of my siblings. But most of the time we love being together. Whether we’re; reading, singing, playing, chatting, or just sitting together in silence.
      People seem to think it’s hard to be alone by yourself while living in a bus(sometimes it is) but for us it wasn’t much different when we lived in a house. The kids spend most of their time outside, so it’s not like we’re in each others faces all the time. Mostly though, as a big family; we just enjoy being together. Thank you for your comment. I wish you all the best in life.✌🏼

    Awesome use of space! Do you travel full time and how do you power the appliances? The children I see are adorable...you are blessed!
    I am fascinated by the nomadic lifestyle so I really appreciate the bus tour, thanks

      We are not always on the road, but we do live full time on our bus. When we are parked, we are usually somewhere that we have 30 amp power to plug in to, which is how we power all our appliances. If we do not have power, we use a generator or just run off our battery system. We can’t power any of the big appliances on the batteries other than the fridge. We will be doing a video of all the underneath workings of the bus very soon, so stay tuned and thanks for watching 😁😁

      Clutter is always a battle in a small space with so many people, some days we are winning that battle, and some days we lose that battle for sure! But it keeps life interesting 😉

    i do have one suggestion, bc the kids are getting older and need privacy so maybe also put curtains above the bed? you have the ones on the window but maybe add one next to the "hallway" ?

    • @BoydFamilyAdventures
      @BoydFamilyAdventures  2 года назад +6

      That was the original plans, but the kids protested??? It was complete anarchy…😂😂. Bethany recently requested bead curtains for her privacy. I’m working on that request!! It’ll be a future vid!!
      -Michael

    • @HelenHorsley
      @HelenHorsley 2 года назад +2

      Complete anarchy 🤣🤣 I love that the kids get a say on what happens in their space! It just shows how well you have brought them up too, complete and honest transparency! Many kids would want curtains to sit behind and hide what they are up to like playing on a games console when they should be sleeping! I wish we had had transparent walls when our son was younger! Lol xx

  • @toothfairy5352

    You should add curtains to the beds for privacy then it’d be perfect.

    What a wonderful home layout! I love that you have made it so your kids (most of them! LOL) can sit up in their bedroom area! Very creative on putting the bunk above your bed over feet area. …. You can always add one over your head area for the newest one, for a short while. I love how you have made your rolling home so roomy and workable for everything your family needs to do! Thanks for sharing! Wishing and praying lots of wonderful memories for you and your family!

    Looks like everything is well organized. A place for everything and everything in its place. Only thing that large family is missing is a dishwasher. Sorry but unless your kids do the dishwashing I’d need a dishwasher or paper plates, etc. How do you have privacy for conjugality. It must be quite a feat with such a small space and so many people.
