AJ & John, plus their four incredible little ones, converted this school bus into their dream home to create memories they will cherish forever. Before they chose buslife, this wild family lived on a farm where they encouraged their kids to discover themselves before they jumped into life on the road. They originally planned on living in their bus for just a year, but within the few short months they've lived on the road, both AJ & John already know that a year won't be enough time.
This beautiful bus features a massive U-shaped couch, double door refrigerator/freezer combo, a full sized bathroom, plus a fun bunk room for their children. John, who is a carpenter, absolutely loved building this bus & has decided that building out skoolies could be the business adventure of a lifetime & a way to keep them traveling for as long as they desire.

This is one of the first time I’ve seen kids not in coffin bunks while parents get a huge bed. Love this so much more then many of the buses I see.
Hi guys, what an absolute beautiful well thought out bus. ,so glad that you think enough of your children as to not to put them I small bunks, hope that your travels are all fulfilling.
Regards from Hereford UK

Parents need to sleep well for us to handle all this crazy!! Lolol in my opinion. And plus the kids always end up in the parents bed!! 😂💕
I’ve looked the “bunk area” over a few times and it doesn’t look any different from so many others. The bunk area ( closed in beds to support privacy) with a bigger bed against the back window. I’m confused or missing something.

What a great example of a healthy family. The layout, design and decor is awesome. It felt homey right off the bat!
Hey thanks! We’re a very grateful, happy family-always seeing ourselves as rich folk-very content waking up making every day great in its own way ☺️
Beautiful bus. Not every parent does plant based well. But everyone in this family looks very healthy and well fed! And it makes me wonder if we could do more plant based meals. Thank you!
I use to be the picky-est eater on the planet-no joke! So much of it is about your mindset. That and, for us, doing it TOGETHER made it so fun! We had wanted to make the switch for years and finally got serious about the adventure & made it a priority. Best wishes to you on your journey!☺️
Hands down the Best parents! The children's sleeping areas are well thought-out. Nice place for them to be! Your bus has Character. Cozy but enough space, the book shelves, the clothes in a Beautiful antique looking closet! A thoughtful transition for the whole family! Thank You for sharing your home with us!
Six kids in that bus in the winter, i'de loose my mind. Great job on the bus, though.
Aw it’s so sweet to read comments like this☺️ We appreciate it!!!!
so well designed. Love the kids area, they got bunks, floor space and a sitting bench and storage. Brilliant!
Thank you sincerely!!! I put so much thought into the design & it’s worked out awesome-for everyone!!!! -AJ
That's a 39 feet Thomas flatnose bus. Possibly the best school bus ever made. Drives like a dream.
Great home on wheels. I cant see anything i dislike. That draining for plates is a brilliant idea
My favorite is the bunk set up and I love the closet in the hallway
What a privilege it would be to be a member of this family, sets you up for life!
Aw what a kind thing to say! As parents, we strive to create an environment that supports our kids exploring all of their curiosities & choosing to sell the farm and evolve to our next chapter of travel in the bus, just seemed like the beat way for them to be able to do that 😌 -AJ
You did a wonderful job on your bus. I hope you enjoy your travels.
Beautiful bus, great family!
I wish they would have mentioned the home schooling and income while traveling.
Wise persons in testing the waters 1st and cautiously going slow. Lucky to have each other. Really talented husband . Unusual beautifully built structures and layout. Certainly can't limit such talent (so wise turning that into an income). Thanks for sharing.👌👍👍👍👏ooh that double sink makes much sense too.👍
That waredrobe from the restore is beautiful!!!!!
Wow! Love this bus, it's such a unique design! Your kids are going to have such a fun time traveling and learning!
Thank you so much! Yeah, before we built this one, I’d seen a few others and just really didn’t like the long hallway feel…I feel like a lot of them are just not very creative & have been built with very similar layouts 🤷 coming up with a different design, that suited all our needs and wants & felt like HOME was so fun! Can’t wait to start on our next bus here in a couple of weeks!!! AJ
One of the most thoughtful layouts I’ve seen when it comes to a large family, especially the kids room and the bathroom! It’s also nice to see lots of books around that alone makes it a home for me…. I know I’m 9mths from when you posted this but it only popped up today, I hope your all well and still living the dream 😊
I love the angles and all the bookshelving it really makes it feel open while still making the reading materials available. My books and my rocks and the things I most value and seeing such a well laid out library in a bus is inspiring
Thank you so much! Yes, designing it to feel big & still fit the things that are important to us in it was fun! I think having a partner who could make all my out-of-the-box ideas come true was what made it all possible 😁 -AJ
Love all the bookshelves!
Hello fellow Hoosiers! What a unique layout! It helps when the parents are willing to sacrifice a bedroom so the kids can have one. Love all the bookshelves and the armoire from the Restore.
Hey there, Hoosier! 👋 well, we don’t feel like we sacrificed anything because we get the whole front 2/3rds of the bus at night😁😁😁
@@amandajoboener5486 Love that attitude!!
Out of all the amazing things when you see Books, and good space for kids, as well as no big space for parents, thats what lovely, cultured, healthy, educated family looks like.
Love your beautiful bus.
By far the best layout I’ve ever seen! Excellent!!
Such a beautiful family and beautiful bus build
what a beautiful home. I love the book collection
I love the build, but leaving a farm for a bus doesn't seem wise especially in these crazy times. Did they keep the farm as a home base?
They sold their farm
thousand dollar toilet < $10 seat and bucket from Lowes. :)
Like the bus…love the family.❤
Love the kids sleeping area!
There are two types of RUclips channels, those who do it as "employment" and post a story every week and spend hours photographing and editing, and those of us who do it as a hobby and only post when we feel like it or have something new to post. I watch and subscribe to both types, but watch mostly during the winter. I have had a small channel for several years, but didn't start watching others until Covid hit in 2020 and it became a habit. If you start building busses, you could probably get customers from RUclips as well as monetize it with Patreon and related building sponsors.
Best designed bus I've seen!
What a great family you are! Your bus looks so homey and comfortable. Enjoy every moment of every day ~ your girls are getting the best education ever!!! Sending you light, love, peace, joy and abundance always! I love you.
What an adorable family and their bus life..♥️
What a wonderful couple!!
Such a beautiful home. My favorite thus far.
One of the nicest skoolie I’ve seen for a family😊
Love ur bus, u’ve got some really nice features in ur bus…everything looks really balanced & proportional. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Now that is something i love to see... shelves of books
😂😊😊The Wild Family....l call it The most beautiful place for a family.
Best wishes 2023
Beautiful bus 😊😊😊...
Love your tiny home. Keep up the great work. SC ❤
I’ve seen a lot of bus builds but this one takes the cake. It’s so home like and decorated like one too. Husband has mad skills and it shows.
Thank you SO much!!!! 😊😊😊
And yes, he won’t ever talk about himself, but I sure will-he’s amazing! So knowledgeable & experienced….I am grateful!I We always joke that I’m the dreamer who comes up with AJ the ideas & he makes then happen! 😁 -AJ
Thanks! I loved watching this tour! Amanda described this family and the meaning of the word wild, in saying they are: "not containable always adapting and evolving.... being able to express that wildness that we love about life" Although she didn't use the word "sustainable" in her description, I think this would be a very realistic definition of "Sustainability" as well!
Awww that means so much that you noticed that and took the time to write about this…. So grateful to see kind comments like this-thank you!!!😌 -AJ
as an architecture major i find the way he speaks about his design and the design itself is extremely intentional and well thought out, i love it- i would say i heard them talking about recycling and composting and gardens i would say convert that recycling half of the trash, it can split to a compactor and composter then with any spare decor areas transform them with herbs as mini gardens though out it could be gorgeous
Love it! Beautiful family!!
Love everything about the bus well layed out lots of room for the kiddies dog mom and dad its bright and very comfy looking
beautiful bus and family
Wow! Awesome everything!
I like the bus 🚌 😊
Wow! Everything is perfect. Love it!
Just adore the layout. Aesthetically beautiful design and furnishings as well. Great job! I hope you do consider doing custom builds. I’ve been contemplating living on the road and with a home like this, I’d definitely want to give it a try. I think you’d have a market for sure. Best of luck to you and your darling family!
Aw thank you sincerely!☺️☺️☺️ We are currently selling this bus & starting another build here in a couple of weeks!
I'm only at the beginning and I'm already loving this bus 🚌
Very nice ❤… happy trails 😊
That one piece for everyone's clothes blows my mind.
very nice and pretty unique design. Love your toilet and unique sitting area. Good job. Enjoy your bus life.
Love the bus, I would love to sell up and live the life you have ... But I'm not brave enough, great vid guys.....thank you.
Your bus is beautiful; I am so jealous!
I love your build!
I absolutely love this❣️
👏👏👏🍀 bravissimi!!! enjoy!!!
Well done!!! One question: do you have another vehicle to get around to go places that your bus may not go?
Would have liked to see the bus driving down the road to hear the amount of road noise. Nice bus!
Really nice ❤❤❤❤❤❤
An awesome built👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Très joli vraiment bisous
Good on you guys
LOVE
Very nice 👌👍👏🏻
it is amazing
The layout and design are so nice. Great job! I hope your journey brings many smiles and growth. The mom looks like Julia Roberts to me.
Nice house
That’s pretty cool
👏👏👏👏👏👏
style ) nice style on your bus looks good 🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🥝🥝🥝🥝🍒🍒🍒🥝🍒🥝🍒🥝🍒🥝🍒🥝🍒🥝🥝🥝🍒🥝🍒🥝🍒🥝
Mom looks like Julia Roberts. Great bus home, cute family. Lots of love.
Why dont u take a bath everyday? 😢
It’s unnecessary and overrated, a construct of marketing to sell product. One can clean oneself in other ways.
That is one L O N G bus🤣. Seems like it could be tough maintaining heat with all the windows.
Any recommendations on how to find local people to convert school bus like this?
Hey I just found you guys. I’m a Hoosier also. What part of Indiana you from? I’m in Seymour.
Some peoples lives are more interesting than mine.
Very well-thought-out design. I love all the book storage! I also lament the fact that I probably won't be able to recycle in the way I can now in my sticks-and-bricks.
I can see the Julia Roberts resemblance lots of love and respect in this family the bus is very well thought out and homey good luck on your travels
This is very nice, but I found one thing confusing. They said the parents slept in the converted couch -- but then it looked like there was a bed in back as well.
Ummm I will buy this 😭😭😭
How did he make this whole place in 31/2 months?!
I loved everything. But to me it is sooo wierd when I hear people say they don’t take shower every day! How come?
All nice but, sacrifice more then just one drawer for each kid. Sounds like they don't have enough clothes
Same..no tik tok
5 females - 1 man I'll buy him some beers when I see him out there
They have 3 daughters and a son. The child with long blonde hair is their son, Henry.
So how do your children get school?
Most families on the road homeschool. 😊
i guarantee you that once those kids become teenagers they will resent these parents for cramping them all together in such a small place with no privacy. as much as this stuff is interesting, these kids are going to hate where they are in a matter of a few years
They said they will be building another bus, so the kids won't be in this one for long.
They mentioned they built bunks for the kids at their farm and the kids all ended up back in their shared bed. Seems to me the kids are right where they want to be.
@@laurenizi when i was their age i wanted to sleep in a pile with my parents and siblings too. now i’m 23 and moved out and i think i would rather be jumped than share a bed or small space with my entire family
Those were my exact thoughts. When my two daughters were teens, it did not work out that well having them in the same room for a while. Most teen girls like their space and privacy. Even my sons liked having their own spots. Of course, with life nowadays, kids may have to adjust their needs.
As a skoolie kid myself- a teenage one at that- I have to say I LOVE the bus lifestyle! I currently share a tiny room with my four siblings and wouldn't have it any other way. Because my parents chose a life of adventure and travel, I'm blessed to be able to see and learn so much about the world. I'm gonna guess these kids will feel the same way 😊
-RaeAnna, age 17
Hey on the off chance he hasn’t had it checked yet please go get a full cardiovascular work up. The bright white nails are are indicative of poor blood circulation. It’s probably nothing, but it’s something that should be investigated just in case!
One big family bed? No. Not on a regular basis, at any age.
Would love a You Tube channel
I was wondering what they did for $.
Another family that will sell their bus and go back to house life. So many of these fake bus life couples on the tube. It’s a trend now. 😂
If the kids resent there parents.......hello....they would be a bunch of intitiled spoiled brats no matter what they got....
Children need a breathly place to live in and they need an amount of space for their activities and hobbies !! And children have the right to have a privacy space of their own !!
I think letting children live in such boxes no matter how fancy they look is torture and child abuse ....if you can't afford a healthy normal life in a normal house then don't make children and force them to live the lifestyle that you as a parent wants !! Those van, bus, etc is good for just childfree people or just for one person...but not those who have an army of children 🤮🤦♀️
Those children have more freedom and space than a child that lives in a 3000 sq ft house with their own bedroom. The Wild Family has the whole of the outdoors to explore and play. I’m sure they spend more time outside playing than most kids their age. I would have loved this lifestyle when I was a child, seeing new places and learning new things all the time!
@@lauriebenefiel1372yess!
This type of living is miserable. Those kids are miserable, those parents are even more miserable
I’ve had a fair share of observing more than one close family members live in rvs. They all pretend that they like it until they can’t pretend anymore. My brother is living in one as of now and he can’t wait to purchase a mobile home just to get out of his rv. He’s got 4 little kids. And his rv isn’t crammed but actually pretty spacious.
6:07 it’s pretty irresponsible to let them drive.
Lovely but in reality where is the privacy once the kids are all teenagers/young adults? Not ideal. Six people all using one toilet on a bus :(
A gimmick for a channel
