I love their bus conversion. I also love this couple for their outgoing personalities. You could sense that they pay it forward by helping people building their conversion after getting help themselves. The doggies need to be featured too!
That corner kitchen cabinet....has the very same Betty C. Cookbook that I've had my entire marriage 41+ yrs. Great cookbook. Like your bus! Y'all did a great job fixin' it up.
I have this cookbook also. I had a heap of old cookbooks going back to the early to mid 1900's and gave the bulk away. Now I wished I would of keep more of them. They were from different authors. I love cookbooks.
What an absolutely gorgeous home! I love the aesthetic and the different toile fabrics.....I've always loved toile! The bathroom is spectacular, as is all of the build. Such a nice couple living their dream!
Love the freezer and the hidden shoe closet! The only things I'd change is I'd get a tub from farmers supply(they come in tin or rubber) and they come in small or large size and I set it up either in the living room or outside. You can either buy a shower curtain (easy to put up) or wear a bikini. I fill it up by heating water and am able to have a nice long hot hot soak. The only thing is you have to have a place to store it but mine fit easily in my shower. I had a friend that stored hers under her dinning table. And with the hot water set up you have it'd be easy. Also a little fan set in to suck the stinky out when you poo is nice to manage the smell, mine is set in the box the potty is in and blows it outside and I didn't know how bad I needed it until I got it, its nice. Other than that I'd like to steal a few ideas from you guys, nice build! God bless you two, maybe one day we can have a drink. Nice travels and good luck!😎
To solve the "ladder to climb into bed" issue, I would just build a step, either folding or stationary, at the base of the closet door next to the bed.
I dont like that green ladder to get into the bed but Ill bet that thing is used for a bunch of other tasks around the bus too. Im pretty sure the ladder will make its way to a permanent spot in the garage when it is replaced with a better way to get into the bed... eventually.
I like the idea of a step or two myself. I've seen people who just built wood boxes as steps. When extra tired or maybe drank more wine than you intended, a stable way to get into bed is a good idea. Just my 2 cents.
Their ingenunity is astounding! Love that they did this on a budget. Their patience and perserverance has resulted in the most beautiful bus build I've ever seen! xo
What a great job of hunting down the practical and decorative bits that really set your home apart. It's comfortable and welcoming as well as beautiful. You have really created the means to have a life you enjoy.
Love ❤ your schoolie home 🏡. I think 🤔 you should have some type of protective device on your back generator so it won't get stolen or messed with. You guys are a sweet couple 💑. May God Almighty truly continue to protect and bless you 🙏 ❤.
Really like the "L" shaped kitchen. I'm planning on keeping my current couch & chair for the LR. Will just remove feet & put on a frame w/drawers/baskets underneath. The raised isle bedroom is awesome. Sooo much under storage. I want to make the back wall, behind the bed, into a full closet & w/d area. Saw a conversion do that. Your build has given me some new ideas for mine. THANKS!
What a cool, efficient bus conversion! Plus, it sounds like your time-to-time employments are part of your adventure, meeting interesting people and seeing the USA. Fantastic!! 👍
I loooooove your kitchen! Its closed off from the back of the bus and I love how you have it cornered. The bathroom is equally cool looking and up to date as well. Your entire bus build is very impressive and looks very cozy and comfy. Thank you for sharing your home. Be safe, stay well and God bless
Adorable interior! They did an amazing job and really showed how you can build a bud out affordably if you can wait for deals to be found. The only improvement to the video would have been to show the dogs sooner! 😉
Fabulous !!!! Fabulous !!!! Fabulous !!!! I give this build two snaps of Awesomeness !!!! For this not to be high tech, it is OUTSTANDING !!!! I can see me living in this. Wow !!!!!
Genius! So well done and you're searching for all of the component parts you needed was unbelievable. It taught me the lesson that you don't always have to have it now that you can put it on a want list and wait for when you find the perfect one at the perfect price. Your schooly looks so tidy and clean and sleek it's just very very well done. Enjoy your journeys and be safe.
Wow! Y'all have had quite an adventure just learning the things necessary to 'run' your schooly home...using a lot of ingenuity. And I love how y'all picked up stuff along the way to furnish it. I also appreciate your advice to folks about working while traveling - picking up jobs as server and bartender, tip money undoubtedly trumps the hourly wage. And y'alls outgoing and fun personalities are most helpful with 'wait-staff' jobs. Y'all are inspiring! Safe travels and take care now!
That cabinet at the door is a great idea! I'm allergic to latex, and lots of shoes contain latex, so that's a great idea, for eliminating most of my allergy risk when people come by for a visit! I will probably convert a small van, so I can save on fuel costs.
I love your build....and your bargain hunting attitude. It seems that you all are "wired" that way, but to be mutual, it puts a little friendly competition behind the project. Thanks for sharing!
Admire your spirit of adventure to challenge yourselves to travel a “new” road while you’re still young enough to really reap the blessings of such a lifestyle change. Also, so impressed with all the wonderful bargains you found & used in your build👌. This was really fun to watch. I have a daughter who has told me for years : “no matter what it is you want to do, there is a RUclips video out there that will show you how!” So, was giggling when you said that very sentiment 😍
I love the Sugar Bear Bus, it's so pretty on the inside and the way they have it all set up is so nice. A really great home on wheels. I liked this video.👍😀 (My daughter's nickname is Sugar Bear, my mom started calling her that when she was 2 years old, 27 yrs ago. Lol...)
Great job you two, you hard work and shopping around has really paid off!! The great average of building it yourself, is you can build it to your specific needs and likes and if anything goes wrong and needs to be worked on or replaced, you know how it was installed or built. Once again very smart build and very wise and smart couple!! Thank You Both!!! Enjoy and have Fun!!!
Beautiful! Does the couch paint rub off on your clothes? Also, what happens if u have to go potty in the middle of the night? I would break something for sure climbing a ladder like that!!
I dig it, my wife and I are toying with the idea of doing this very thing, I have been looking at class C motorhomes, but I like the idea of doing it yourself, and no roof leak worries with a bus, the getting odd jobs to pay your way, I am an automotive painter, the wife has worked in a Nursing home for 30 years now, we could do that. I think I would want an acre or two somewhere secluded for a home base though, solar, windmill, septic, definitely in a humanity friendly state lol.
Your bus is lovely. You may want to consider a new way to store your dog food. Once kibble is exposed to air, it can start to go rancid. It should always be kept in an airtight container.
I love you and I love your bus ♥️ and I love all the budget items that you shared with us and taught us how to look for them or keep our eyes open. Thank you for that.
You both have built a Beautiful home inside your bus! I'm hoping to build a home inside a bus. Your encouraging words has given me the bost to do it. Thank you!
guys great build. it reminds me of my old gray ghost., a 1976 dodge stoolie. it had some real issues after two hundred thousand miles. the kick I got it for free from a guy that just wanted it gone. he used it for scout camping, back in the day. I built it out that kicked ass. when I sold it, it had four hundred thousand miles, and ten years later, for ten grand. but the issues that kicked me were the electric grid that allow me to use water, solar, and wind, and shore power. now that issue did take some doing. I was using Led's, from back then. 40 watts used by lighting, 300 watts, used by refuge, 2000 watts for heat. all run off of 8000-watt generator system. that was about all the real issues I had, other than tires brakes, and motor issues. the Allison trans ran great in all those years. but is all that time. my camper never looked as great as yours's do. best of luck, and safe trails.
Nice build, But I LOVE her mans hair! A silver pony bun and Long Beard! Whooaaahhhh!!! Nice! And Where ever you guys were at while filming this vid is soo pretty! Tell us Where?
Nice build and great to upcycle all the furniture. Very spacious inside, and the bathroom is lovely! Nice match with the decor all the way through, it has a lot of charm. I would change the steel panels on the fridge though, as those dents are too many. Try flattening them out. Panels can be taken off. First, try heating the dented area with a heat gun (Wagner $22) for several minutes. Keep the heat source moving so the surface heats evenly. Frequently, this alone is enough to remove the dent. If it isn't, immediately apply something very cold like dry ice to the dent while it's still hot. Predator 3500 Generator Inverter is cheap at $930 over a Honda Genny at $2300 or an Onan Cummins, but you get what you pay for. The reviews have a lot of 1-star comments about how it dies in no time. What is the point of returning it, when you are stranded somewhere without a generator and your holiday is ruined? Pay the price and get something reliable. This is junk. What a lot of work too, to empty out the gas tank, disconnect, drive to HF, and reconnect new one. Not worth the bother. Add one to the basement on a pull out tray and be happier.
Wow! What a bus RV!!! Job well done! Especially to the generator being on the back of the bus. Another thing you can do to keep your batteries charged is solar panels on the roof you can get from the sun. :)
They are like me...always on the look-out for ways to save money...love what they've done...their skoolie is much bigger than mine but still, lots of good tips and insight. Thank you for sharing. Will be Subscribing/Following them now ☺
Urine isn't gray tank, it's black tank👍🏾. LOVE that you "thrifted" so much of it. Thanks for work tips. What's your last kid doing after high school now?
Greetings from NYC. What a beautiful home! I love the decor..it is so elegant. Great job! I have to watch again because I am interested in how you painted the fabric Ingenious!
You guys are such good expressers. I love what you have done. A beauty. I aspire. Blessings and many happy miles, aaaaaaaall the way from South Africa. 💕
I love all your “stupid good deals”. The way you two are so thrifty but everything came out so good. You guys did this thing right. Love it.
What a steal! $800 and it was drivable, what good fortune 😀
I love their bus conversion. I also love this couple for their outgoing personalities. You could sense that they pay it forward by helping people building their conversion after getting help themselves. The doggies need to be featured too!
Thanks!! Lots more doggie clips on our channel @sugarbearbus!
Oh and paying it forward was just about every stop in some way!
I agree buying from thrift stores is the best way to build out a bus. Looks beautiful.
I love this type of layout where you get a full bathroom and a seperate bedroom.
It made it more if a home for us! Be sure to sub to our channel @sugabearbus

What a journey you two are on! Love the name and design also. Continue having fun and be safe out there!
WOW! You two are the primo economizers, financial managers & bargain finders of all time!!!!!!!!!👍 Sugar Bear looks like a wonderful home!

NICE 2 STEP STOOL
CORRECT!!! OR FIND ONE AS A STUPID DEAL!!! HAHAHA!!!
I like the idea of a step or two myself. I've seen people who just built wood boxes as steps. When extra tired or maybe drank more wine than you intended, a stable way to get into bed is a good idea. Just my 2 cents.
Excellant..this couple stayed faithful to the reason to do simple living.. wonderful advice. And not spend 100,000$.
Their ingenunity is astounding! Love that they did this on a budget. Their patience and perserverance has resulted in the most beautiful bus build I've ever seen! xo

Good taste planned setting that looks spacious n comfortably nice

Such a gorgeous bus! It is beautifully decorated and feels very, very homey! Amazing... Such a great couple too!!!
