Little spring for DVR is what I am trying to find now for friend of mine. Came out easily but no idea on where it is. Had no problem removing the ODD, whoever the switch you popped out at beginning was shaking loose inside. I want to make sure the spring is not jammed against some electronics or PCB or wire. No idea what it looks like. Never had one fall apart like this. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ How much thermal paste did u use. I’m debating cleaning for friend of mine but may just give it good blast of air.

Lenovo: you need to disassemble the whole laptop
You only need to disassemble the keyboard and the fan bracket for access to the cpu... so two screws.
Thanks to your video, I've just successfully replaced both hindges, cleansed and replaced the thermal paste in my T420. Thank you so much!!

Wimped out when i had ti remove the layer the keyboards on, but at least i cleaned the fan a bit.
