Definite yes on the Game Gear and Neo Geo Pocket Color as future cartridges.
@@eskanda3434 Neo Geo Pocket is not Nintendo, is SNK. However, SNK is not licensing their games to anyone (except for the guys who made that bartop), so I doubt we'll get a cart soon, especially for a console that is almost UK-exclusive.
@@OM19_MO79 Oh I don't know Snk seems pretty happy releasing their games on every platform possible.
You can bet they will do snk games,,, but they will be nes and genesis ports....
The Lynx looks better than I ever imagined. The games have a really unique & charming art style, like Dos-era gaming.

Thanks so much for covering our new releases, an excellent video as always. We are really excited to bring these to the Evercade and have plenty more to come!
When I click on the Amazon link it shows that the Lynx cartridges are unavailable. Why is that?
They are available in the UK and can be shipped world wide from various suppliers or try Video Games Plus Canada
Im covering Evercade on my channel now:)
@@chrishenderson4757 Amazon USA are unable/unwilling to list Lynx carts for preorder. They will be available on release date from Amazon.com
@@EvercadeRetro I hope you also replenish the other carts that are out of stock and work that Namco licensing. It's not cheap to get things from Amazon UK or any other European Amazon version, they are currently not giving affordable shipping options for some reason.
Thanks for the review! Hope everyone enjoys the Lynx collection carts. And let me know if you'd like to see another down the road. :)
Um, YES PLEASE!!
I'm seriously considering buying an Evercade and these two Lynx packs now that I know they exist. I was a big Lynx fan as a kid. Would definitely love to see more. APB, Rampage and Paperboy especially.
Yes please!
LYNX games are what I've been waiting for.
Don't tease us like that, Carl!
Looks amazing, especially the Lynx and Xeno Crisis cart!
I've been on the fence with this one, but having physical media and a manual is a rare thing nowadays, nice thing to own and preserve a bit of gaming history, leaning to buy again 😉
Save your money the evercade is rubbish and I've now sold mine. The instruction manuals are obsolete as the buttons are all back to front. And they are literally two lines about the game. No actual details as to how to play them.
@@rgrRyan....couldn't agree more. It's garbage!
Its an excellent piece of kit for the money. Feels great in the hands and its a great experience if you like the Nostalgia.
@@rgrRyan 🤣🔔🔚
Worth the money to buy the premium pack with the 3 carts. The handheld has a great look and feel and the buttons have a nice response. The directional pad has a sweet genesis feel to it as well. The system has some downsides to it but overall a great deal if you're into the nostalgia and old 8 and 16 bit games, some of which u might not have gotten to play back in the day. Hope that helps.
You sold me on this !. I love dizzy games ! . Everyone of them . To see you review them got me very excited . I'm a huge code master fan . So to see this warms my heart and I'll be buying one and this cart . Thanks for showing me this I'm very happy I can buy it .
I love my Evercade, I have every cart so far and can’t wait for these four, great video as always 👍
Lynx games are the ONLY reason I'd get an Evercade!
I'll never get it because you can play all these games on TV with retropie.
Me too. I bought mine when I knew they are going to release these carts.
@@123doomdoom playing handhelds games on TV is like to see a 240p video of youtube on a 50 inches tv, its awfull man, i prefer small screens for these games
Evercade cartridges use flash memory, they are not ROM like old console cartridges. Evercade cartridges WILL NOT last nearly as long as NES, SNES, GENESIS, etc cartridges. In fact, flash can have its memory wiped in under a year.
Evercade claims they use "high quality" flash but that is irrelevant, the flash being "high quality" will not stop it from being able to lose its data as fast as "low quality" flash.
Evercade knows this which is why they aren't nearly as open as they should be about their cartridges using flash memory.
Optical media is the king of data storage for longevity, but ROM cartridges can have a long lifespan too as has been proven, flash is trash for longevity.
The evercade is worth the money. Some people complain about the carts being flash media and not ROMS. I personally don't care so much about that as I enjoy the experience it has to offer in the here and now. Then again,I am definitely not one of those collectors who cares about being able to play these games in 25 yrs. I just beat Boogerman(which was fun and is a solid platformer) and don't intend to revisit it. What made it fun was being able to play the game for only a few minutes here and there(I am very busy with wife and kid) and to save immediately wherever I was in the game and then jump right back in where I left off. That i found to be awesome and something I could have never done had I'd been playing it on my original Sega Genesis back in the day.
I played Chip's Challenge which was pre-installed on an old Compaq PC my dad bought at work. Brings back memories. Nice to see a handheld version.
I pre-ordered all 4 of these carts as well received my shipping notice for Xenocrisis/Tanglewood & Oliver Twins with the 2 Lynx carts coming late November.
Love watching your videos during quarantine. It gives me somethimg to do. Thank you MJR!
Great review , MetalJesus you are the second person i have seen review this so far on youtube. Your video is way more informative for sure on all this game.
It's great to see new cartridges come out for the Evercade. I'm especially excited for the Atari Lynx collection, as that's a system that not a lot of people either know about or played those games! Also...Tanglewood is SO MUCH FUN! Have you played it?
You had me at Atari Lynx. I always wanted that when it was slightly new. That Nymph game is tight too. Well done.
@MJR : Have you ever come across H.E.R.O. on handheld device, or is there a remake of it with modern graphics but with the same tight control? Still the best Atari 2600 game ever made.
I was one of the beta testers on Tanglewood when it was being released for the Megadrive/Genesis, and had SO much fun with it. Totally worth doing a 100% run of the game for reasons I shall not spoil. We have a few videos of it on our channel. Really looking forward to seeing what Matt from BigEvilCorp has coming up next.
I bought the Evercade for the Lynx games and have become a huge fan of the system. Really looking forward to the next wave of games!
@@acecarrera1 There's a GBA Activision collection but it's kinda choppy.
The lynx games hit me hard. I use to own a lynx and had a ton of games for it when I was a kid and as I got older I still played on it, till one day my place got broken into and it was stolen.
I have an Evercade and love it for my Retro fix on the go! Picked up the initial 3 pack Atari Collection 1, Interplay Collection 1 and Namco Museum Collection 1 with a signed Dizzy coming soon!
I will be requesting the others I don't have as Christmas or birthday presents as I never know what to ask for. I will build my full collection over time.
I completed my lynx collection last year but with added levels I'm going to have to buy these! Todds adventures in slime world is an EXCELLENT game too. Fun and challenging.
You can buy the Buried Treasure version of CMII from Songbird for use on your Lynxen.
Awesome review as usual. Keep the videos coming and I can’t wait to try one of these out!
Thanks for the great review...love my Evercade, can't wait to get the new cartridges.
I didn't know about the extra levels on Crystal Mines. They should make more of a song and dance about the Evercade version having extra content.
You can buy the version with extra levels for $60 from Songbird Productions. Or this for $20.
Good on them for releasing more cartridges. Hopefully they keep bringing the updates.
I'm very excited about the new cartridges! And thrilled they're continuing to support the system with new releases! Plus the Oliver Twins! I mean, come on! I gotta get that!
That’s going to be a great one I am covering when the guys come on my show.
One correction: the Buried Treasure expansion was made by the original creators of Crystal Mines II and sold through Songbird in the early 2000s. You could load the extra levels onto your Lynx via a USB to Comlynx cable!

Check out this awesome interview Carl Forhan of Songbird did with them back in 2000: songbird-productions.com/2020/09/09/throwback-interview-with-ken-beckett-creator-of-crystal-mines/
Awesome video! I think those lynx collections are my next purchases
The Lynx cartridges grabbed my attention as I had one as a kid and loved it. It’s just hard to lug it out much given the damage it has taken over time and the amount of batteries it eats if you don’t use an AC adapter.
As far as cartridges I would want, an Epyx game pack of their 80s classics like the Games series, Impossible Mission, etc, would be great.
A Compile cartridge including the various Aleste games like Power Strike, MUSHA, etc could also be great.
Treasure Island Dizzy was the first game I ever managed to complete, I think it's the reason I love metroidvania games so much
DEFINITELY considering one of these now. This seems like it’s right up my alley.
I just got my Evercade and I'm loving it! I can't wait to get all these carts!
I really would love a turbo grafx collection..... I absolutely love the evercade,,, it is such a well made , sharp little hand held.... and every game comes on a cartridge with a case and instructions.... it’s sad that that is considered a bonus these days!! I can’t stand digital only crap!!!
Great video man. I don’t know why, but it’s just so relaxing to watch your vids. Perfect to just chill out and soak in the retro goodness :-)
Thanks 👍
Nice video! Im really looking forward for the new releases.
Love scrapyard dog on the lynx!! Game is a blast and has a ton of secrets to it. Most people don't know that you can duck down over trash cans or look into tree holes and be brought to secret levels. Plus the levels are cool since you leave town and head through the mountains and into the desert.
Heck I would buy a evercade just for this one Lynx game alone.
Very happy to see that new carts are coming for the evercade
Awesome I just ordered one off of eBay Did my research on it first of course then saw your videos on it and bought it
i had a Lynx II back in the 90s and Slime World was such a blast! Nice to see it's on a physical cartridge again.
Cool that theese guys puts new stuff over it!!!!!
Fantastic video I'm waiting for all four to hit my doormat like Warren I'm in the UK so hopefully they will arrive soon .
You are so good at showing then off in detail brilliant as always MJR 😀😀👍👍🕹️🎮
My daughter is in XenoCrisis as a hostage! We also interviewed the creator on our podcast on iTunes (42 Level One) and my name is in the credits for tanglewood - the dev Matt actually made the whole game on software and hardware available during the mega drive/genesis lifetime...crazy
Great video by the way , one of my favourite channels of late:)
It's nice to see they are putting out more cartridges for this.
Great video, thanks!
Regarding the Dracula game's "smart" menu, all it takes is to have a number set for each command and have it scroll according to said number, so everything is in a list or data array: 0, 1, 2, etc. Now, the number plus a contextual additive based on location and a set number of different things that might interact with it (say, cupboard, and maybe an item you would put inside or just extract) and just add or subtract said value to or from the command so that the command and the item are set at 0 or "First-Seen Option".
On my list..
I have the whole collection so far..
Love it like a circa 1980/90 handheld explosion!
I got an Evercade with every cart and the case a few months ago. Pick it up for a blast on Tanzer and a few others once a week or so. As a massive Dizzy fan growing up it was The Oliver Twins collection annoucement that got me to order one. I would love to see a Bitmap Brothers collection.
I got the Evercade Handheld and I am really enjoying it
I have this can't wait
This handheld is great, both in idea and in performance. I am sold on it. Purchased.
I wasn't sure about the lynx collection as I had a lynx and quite a few games in the past. After seeing that Dracula is on the first collection I have to get it. I had that game and never managed to finish it and I never thought I would ever play it again.
Four of the best releases for Evercade:) Can't wait for mine!
great video Jason
Wow i LOVE the Atari Lynx Collections!!
Speaking of caves, Crystal Caves HD 💎💎👀 is out
I guess there is also a DS version?!
Okay, I used to have a nice Atari Lynx and about 25 carts, but I never knew about some of these back in the day. Very cool.
Some of these are very new! The Lynx homebrew scene is fantastic!
@@openskiesmedia I will look into it! I hove a few Atari 2600 home brews that are really good like "Fall Down" OMG! Great game. So Lynx stuff should be stellar!
I live in the UK and have all ten cartridges and I am looking foward to the next four I am fifty years old and remember most of these game and you review of them was excellent kind regards Darren
I would love to see some more familiar stuff like a Konami or Capcom collection.
That would be cool!
I don't think we'll get a Konami cart but a Capcom cart would surely be ahead, I just hope they finaly get to do arcade emulation and not just console.
I also forgot, there's a Jaleco collection coming as well next year. Considering the record of the other mini consoles, Irem and Capcom collections must be in the works; it's always Data East, Technos, Capcom, Irem and Jaleco. Now we need Toaplan, Taito and Telenet to join the party.
The Oliver Twins are actually 2 twin brothers. They are legendary in games design.
Nice, Evercade is a great alternative! Looks good
That was quarter pipes in the bmx game. Half pipe is a back and forth ramp where each side you can get air and then turn around in air and go to the other side and then back and forth
Those Lynx games are incredible for the time.
Man I’m just now hearing of this thing! Very cool system
Songbird Productions is awesome! A guy who loves Atari got a ton of licenses of Jaguar and Lynx games. He’s released fully complete and unreleased Jaguar games also!
I saw Evercade on the shelf in WalMart a few months ago. At the time I just groaned and assumed it was a cheezy handheld with third string titles or games from no name developers on hardware made in China. After seeing your in depth review and the gameplay footage, I bought one and should have it to play in a couple days. Ordered the premium bundle which comes with three game packs together with the console for about $99. Now this looks like a great deal and should be an absolute blast. When I saw that the Lynx packs were not currently available I thought I’d missed the boat, but apparently these are coming soon in late November!
The retro compilations are cool, but I think it seems like a great home for Indy games to have a physical way to collect them. I hope more of them come to the evercade
I used to have nearly all the dizzy games on the zx spectrum as a kid. Seymour goes to the Hollywood was a great game made by the same company.
Yeah, seems pretty cool...👍🏼💯✔ If I ever run across this in a store I might buy it...👌🏼
I have all 4 of them on order my self can not wait
@G_J_C 95 in total 60 UK pound
@G_J_C 95 I get the evercade day one with all the first 10 cartridge and was well in pressed with it they is some gems on there and some poor ones as well but Its a symptom i intend to pay every cartridge they put out
Cool video tech talk
Alien vs Predator was originally in development for the Lynx but it was dropped in favour of the Jaguar version. There used to be a leaked playable version of it on the net, not sure if it still is. I remember buying an EPROM based Lynx cartridge with AVP on it.
I love my Evercade. ANd I think a Broderbund collection would be really cool.
I hope you know Evercade cartridges use flash memory, they are not ROM like old console cartridges.

Optical media is the king of data storage for longevity, but ROM cartridges can have a long lifespan too as has been proven, flash is trash for longevity.
Be cool to see more videos on Evercade collections
I have an Evercade and I really like it. It's not perfect but I really enjoy. I hope they keep supporting it. I would like to see some bigger name titles on it but in time I hope.
Tanglewood is a great game, when those big monsters start coming from you it really does get the heart rate up! Love it :)
This still looks great! And they have Boogerman...👍🏻I may have to pick one up someday
Cut my teeth on the Oliver Brothers Dizzy games as a kid. Hugely popular in the UK as British kids loved their Spectrums and C64’s.
New dizzy game coming
Amstrads as well
Some great games here! Terrific little machine, well worth the investment.
I am a retro collector like your self and love your videos
Really cool games. Tanglewood is such a cool concept!
I've caved and ordered one, arrives next saturday.
Hell yeah I can't wait til I get mine!!
I absolutely love the evercade and all the collections. I wish they would come out with more modern indie carts like tangle wood/xenocrisis. Although button remapping would be nice (similar to how the Retron 5 does it).
Nice! Can't wait for the Analogue Pocket to release.
Great video 🤘🏻
Thanks! These are fun videos to make. Have a great weekend!
I looooved Dracula on the lynx, it was a portable Resident evil before RE even existed
Fantastic Dizzy. Me and my Mom used to play that one on Genesis when I was 5. It's infuriating, and takes about 19 hours to complete if you want to see the ending.
It's still frustrating af to try and complete here in 2020 lol
Ability to play left or right handed is really handy!
The NES version of Super Robin Hood wasn't the first ever Oliver Twins game. The (very different) home computer versions were.
This is fire 🔥🔥🔥
@13:42 I remember that game in after school daycare
Great idea for a video! Puzzle game spin-offs from the 90s. SFII, Puzzle Bobble, Pac-Man, Yoshi's Cookie, Kirby's Ghost Trap, Mario's Picross.. I bet there are loads more.
Also, great to see ElectroCop getting some attention. The character might be inspired by RoboCop, but the game itself is innovative with a cool soundtrack. I must try and finish it one day.
After watching this I will be getting one of these. Mainly because I never owned an Atari Lynx.
Beating Xeno Crisis on hard with my best friend on Genesis is still the greatest gaming achievement of my life. Freaking love that game!
Only just discovered the Evercade and I want one, but I'm holding out for the Evercade Exp model.
It's probably more cost-efficient and easier on the eyes to buy this system and the two Lynx packs than an actual Lynx. It's a pity they didn't include the Lynx games based on Midway and Atari Games titles (Roadblasters, Gauntlet, etc.), because those are among the best that system has to offer.
Maybe they will in the future
Plus, the LCD on the Lynx absolutely, positively sucks. I own two Lynx IIs, one functional. Since I own a bazillion Lynx and Game Gear cartridges, I may spring for one of these when it's released:
Analogue Pocket
www.analogue.co/pocket/
@@winstonsmith478 If it is ever available, I'd love to get one too...
@@winstonsmith478 or you can do a screen mod for your Lynxes which would be the best option.
Wow, Lynx and Dizzy for sure
A video about the super Mario 3d all stars would be very entertaining, great video btw keep it up!
Proud that it comes from Britain! Should come with a PG Tips pyramid teabag.
Loved the dizzy franchise on my spectrum.
I was considering one of these
Love the manuals!
Wish they'd Bring them back for most games sold :)
Very informative. I used to own the lynx and now I want to go back to these games. Also this console is good for me cause I'm not computer literate and there is no possibility of corrupting a memory card as far as I can guess. They are also a good value for someone like me who doesn't have much money. The only concern is that the games look a little slow. I don't know if they were faster when I had them years ago.
