This cemetery has another really interesting story: It is the final resting place of both Knight Armstrong (who was murdered via a poisoned bottle of rum in 1845) and his suspected killer Daniel Cooper (who committed suicide in his barn about a week later). The cemetery was in the process of being restored around the time that you visited. Great video!
I have no idea how I stumbled on this video; my 4yr old son climbed into bed with me and my phone was in the bed. I woke up later and in his sleep he has been wriggling and opened the phone, RUclips and this video somehow. Very strange. I just woke up to the sound of the video beginning... But I am so very happy. I really enjoyed the video and am now subscribed. Strange world we live and love in.
Another fascinating video! Thank you. Agree about the Selinda Cooper stones, the older one looks like it was broken at some point so maybe they did commission a new one and then the broken piece was found nearby afterwards and reattached.
I think you are right about Selinda's gravestone. I found a picture from early 2000s showing that headstone on the left being on the ground and cracked in half where you can see it was fixed in your video. I imagine a new headstone was made but then they also fixed the original.
I was worried this whole video was going to be fish eye lense. It looked like a skater video. I skipped ahead and saw normal lense video. Love these videos!
So bury me with soldiers, please, though much maligned they be. Yes, bury me with soldiers, for I miss their company. We'll not soon see their like again; we've had our fill of war. But bury me with men like them 'till someone else does more
There's an old cemetery mear where I grew up in upstate NY with stones.from the 1700s. When I was a kid it was overgrown and stones were scattered. Probably couldnt even find it today.
Come to South GA and explore some of the enslaved people's cemeteries! Edit: if you'd like any suggestions or a place to start a know of a few family plots in Edison, Ga.
I'd bet my hat the idea that the second stone is because they couldn't find the first isn't the right answer. Too similar of a style, and while there were fashions in headstones as there are in everything else, that to me reads like someone saw the original and copied it. My thought is that your theory that they were planning to replace the elder stone is correct.

This is so great! Thank you for posting these sources, too.
Really interesting from start to finish. Excellent job

It's probably all a suburb now. Likely under a strip mall.
Come to Basking Ridge NJ. The church downtown as a very well maintained cemetery with stones going back to the 1700s
Fascinating.

Those are GIANT trees?! HAHAHAHAHA! 😂
I've seen bigger trees than that in LA suburbs.

Fun fact, Dime Store Adventures camped on Moses' grave that night.
Me: *thinks to self: 'Keziah is a pretty name..*
Me: *looks at date of death* "oh...she died on my birthday"😵💫
Weird camera format
