    2-4 weeks for a taper for this drug is BS. Even for a low dose, a very gradual 3-4 month taper minimum is needed. Paxil is extremely difficult to get off and has an extended withdrawal syndrome (months) for majority of users.

      The hunger comes from the anticholinergic effects of the medication. Paroxetine having the highest of all the SSRIs. It acts on H1 receptors aside from the targeted receptors. This is why it is also one of the most sedating of the SSRIs, with very little activation due to it not really targeting much of the epinephrine receptors.

      @@dan-tj1om It takes up to one month or two I think to start feeling positive effects from it. Don't get me wrong I am not promoting or encouraging anyone to take it, since you had those symptoms that medicament does not suit your state obviously. I have been taking sertaline in the past but without positive effects, so I stopped taking it, that doesn't mean the drug is bad and not effective just it didn't suit my state, like in your case. And the effectiveness depends obviously of the state of the patient itself. Also I used 5-Hydroxytryptophan natural compound, it worked for a while for me, I recommend it to anyone who has mild symptoms of depression or anxiety. But in my case I suffered from PTSD so I couldn't take only that. I hope you are doing well now, also a lot of exercise helps a lot, though I know with people who have severe depression or anxiety is very difficult to just start doing it. @@jayboiification it doesn't do that if you're eating healthy and exercising. It takes about 2months to work , but I think I might have to raise my dose because it's been over a year and my anxiety is creeping up again. Constipation is the worst side effect. So is fatigue.

      @@vanessas2363 It's not generally recommended for use during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester. Data has shown an increase risk of cardiovascular malformations in infants born to mothers on paroxetine. Paroxetine use in late pregnancy may be associated with higher risk of neonatal complications, including respiratory distress. There also may be more bleeding with you at birth as well as more irritability or sedation in the infant. As far as after birth, some drug is found in mother's breast milk. It's honestly not worth the risk. I'm a psychiatric nurse practitioner and my wife is a nurse in mother baby. If you have to be on an SSRI during pregnancy, you should switch to either Sertraline (Zoloft) or Escitalopram (Lexapro)

    Hello, what is the ejaculatory disorder side effect?

    • @lmtfa6297
      @lmtfa6297 4 года назад

      Hello there. Firstly, always talk to your psychiatrist about any questions regarding antidepressants because only he/she can give you information you should trust. Now, the ejaculatory disorder is mainly a problem of delayed or in some cases absent ejaculation. After 4 months it should either resolve itself or at least decrease. If not you should contact your psychiatrist and talk about switching medication. In case you want to use it for PE you should also talk to your urologist or your psychiatrist. (paroxetine is used as an off-lable medication for PE so you should consider that when you chose your antidepressant.) Wish you the best.

      @@Ryskitt The main bad thing about it is when you're trying to get off of it. Side effects from the withdrawal symptoms are absolutely horrible, especially if you've been on it for a long time. Smaller side effects are said to persist over a year in some people. My girlfriend was dying for the whole month after she stopped it. I advise you to get off of it asap and also change doctors, anyone who would prescribe it to you doesn't do research into the drugs they're administering.
