    Last RedBar I had this on my wrist for long enough to make the Fears chap see if I’ve not ran away. Have decided to take the plunge this year on this piece but at the moment am torn between the Aurora and the green Boutique Edition.

      Tough one but I think I'd go for the Aurora myself but either one is great

    Happy New Year sir! From the moment I discovered this latest release from Fears I was immediately enthralled. I've just recently ordered the Fears Redcliff 'Edwin Fears' edition and am patiently awaiting its arrival! However, I'm really torn between the 'Aurora' and the Copper Salmon as my next purchase 😭

      Happy New Year 👍🏻 I've reviewed both and its a tough one but I'd go with the Aurora personally

    Beautiful case and dial. Not sure about readability because reflective hands on reflective dial, but I have Shorokhoffs that's playing hide and seek with time so I shouldn't complain. Happy new year Barry and Ryan. Keep up the great channel and reviews.

    Blimey this is a handsome little devil. I am a fan of this case design as well and the size of 40 is great. Incredible dial and numerals.
    If this were a grand seiko or Longines etc it would do incredibly well and no one would challenge the price point.
    As it stands it’s from a little known company I believe based in Bristol and as such the price point and value retention will get challenged.
    Nevertheless a most handsome timepiece well done to fears and thanks for featuring.
    Ps I bought my first watch from Francis and gaye last night because of their generosity with your channel. They had a good deal on a limited edition Certina diver which I couldn’t resist. I even called Ryan up to acknowledge your connection with the purchase.
    FYI 😊

      Aww thats cool he's a nice chap i hope you enjoy it , as for the watch it really is a stunner the dial is second to none, On the flip side if the company gets big all these early models are going to be very collectible :) 😊

    Hi Barry, it looks OK, but I'd like to see a longer, more stable history before I invest in one of these. Interestingly, the Guinand watches with SW200 and SW220 in Top cost about half of what this costs, and their quality control is truly excellent. Have a great New Year Barry, and a successful 2024. LG Bob 🍻🎉

      Hi 👋 I think its just the way the MOP is cut and GS is very over rated the last one I reviewed had a mark on one of the hands , I'd think the of this is way better

    I really like Fears' style and their drive for quality, but much more so than many other ambitious new micro or revival brands, I just really struggle to see the true justification for the cost. Despite everyone raving ablut finishing and eye for detail with quality components, I feel this can be said for a growing number of micros at the 1000-1500 mark including similar or even better grade equivalent suooky movements, making these pieces easily twice the price one should expect. It seems the brand deliberately avoids this issue, seemingly explicitly pursuing fewer cash rich customers. I'm not sure, of course, if this is working, but the brand does seem to be going strong. I mainly regret that they have pisitioned themselves out of the group of peers where they would have won many more enthusiast customers. This Aurora, while I can see the appeal, does not reach the elegance of the salmon, champagne or black LE versions of this watch for me. It is very handsome.

      They have placed them selfs at the top of the tree thats for sure and that sometimes makes them more desirable. Like back in the day when AP priced there steel model at the same price as many other gold ones

    • @benjaminvis
      @benjaminvis 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@ClickSpringReview we'll keep assuming it's a deliberate strategy. But where I suppose AP's move had a long and active history and was daring, given the context of the revival as a micro, Fears' move almost seems brash. I know many enthusiasts struggle with it, which must be an undesirable side effect. While not quite to the same extent in terms of pricing, the Vulcain revival also is an example of a revival that immediately wants to compete in a higher segment. I hope they did the market research required.
