Date of transmission of this episode: 3rd November, 1979, a few weeks after the release of Join Hands. McKay and Morris quit on 7th September 1979, immediately before the tour. Robert Smith of The Cure subbed on guitar, and Budgie filled in for Morris on drums. This is the band you see here.

Late 79-81 was an interesting period of time for them. They had a new line up after the Aberdeen incident, but were also still playing a lot of their post-punk material from The Scream and Join Hands because Kaleidoscope was so different from their previous worth with the exception of Skin. Israel was probably the closest song to what we would get on Juju until it came out, and it's crazy to me that it wasn't put on Juju.

I was 14 at the time.... some nights I dreamed about Siouxsie being my girlfriend.... then the awakening was so hard.
Pure class, pure talent, pure charisma..... what a commanding stage frontwoman❤❤❤❤❤

That's me these days, haha, though sadly I've never dreamed about it. I just sleep on the thought. Maybe I'll get lucky one of these days. Discovered them a year ago now already, amazing band.

Amazing tune! I have always been a fan, I adored her! I was 15 when this was aired and watched it on a Saturday teatime, I later (or earlier I can't remember) saw this line up at Manchester Apollo, with The Cure and Spizz Energy as support! Song writing credit for this tune should always go to 'Peter Fenton' who 'SHE' sacked for being too 'Rock 'n' Roll' ! dx
