@@cordial yeah but at this time, McGeoch hadn't been in the band. And he happily admitted he was no McGeoch either. So your insult isn't one at all as he's said as much himself.
Date of transmission of this episode: 3rd November, 1979, a few weeks after the release of Join Hands. McKay and Morris quit on 7th September 1979, immediately before the tour. Robert Smith of The Cure subbed on guitar, and Budgie filled in for Morris on drums. This is the band you see here.
Late 79-81 was an interesting period of time for them. They had a new line up after the Aberdeen incident, but were also still playing a lot of their post-punk material from The Scream and Join Hands because Kaleidoscope was so different from their previous worth with the exception of Skin. Israel was probably the closest song to what we would get on Juju until it came out, and it's crazy to me that it wasn't put on Juju.
This song and album saved me from my queer, high school trauma/angst. I saw Siouxie in San Francisco in 1982. Both nights they performed. It was a religious experience.
@@antipatsy nah, McKay and Morris had walked out by then. Robert had the sole distinction of being guitarist with The Cure AND The Banshees at this point. Amazing.
This performance is incredible... It´s a hell of a song to play live, so fast it´s even difficult to breath in between verses for Siouxsie, and even for the rest of the band... and yet they get to the climax of it! Aw!
I don't know, it could have been a gag that was set up, you don't see the crowd in that shot... But then again that might've been real and flew towards some peoples faces lmao!
Surprised Sl0uxsle did not hit the presenter over the head with the microphone after that snydey cheeky comment before the banshees start playing.... I would have 😡😡
This is awesome. One of the best pure punk performances ever. Siouxsie is like a manic Lady Macbeth ! Love the totally wired-up drummer - and the juxtaposition of Siouxsie's picture next to Mary Whitehouse ! Deliberately anarchic !

Amazing tune! I have always been a fan, I adored her!
