    My grand father was taken to Fiji when he was very young by British. This happened some 100 years ago. I still speak Hindi at home with my children in Hindi though it is now called Fiji Hindi. I understand about 60 percent of Sanskrit. It is my desire to be proficient in Sanskrit but the opportunity is very less out side of India. I am really appalled to hear that people in India prefer their children to speak English.

    I have tried a lot of different ways but I found the book by Thomas Egenes to be the best way to learn Sanskrit. He explains basic Grammar rules and there is a lot of practice assignments with answers. Sanskrit is not same as any other language that I have known before. I can pick up Tamil Telugu Hindi, even Urdu easily but it was impossible to pick up Sanskrit easily like that. You need a good teacher who can simplify and teach.

      @@AB-yp7nc Yes you are right, and the book admits it that it is not always grammatically correct.
      But overall it gives a quite firm basic grip over the language. Once you get that you can move to other books, on the other hand it takes much more time to grammatically learn any language.

The nerve of the language, particularly the Bharatiya - the akshara- mala, mostly common and many words and expressions common and i feel the similarities in vyakaran points which though I am unable to express. There are only two effective methods of learning any language…
    1. Complete and focused immersion for certain amount of time. Mormon missionaries are well known for teach a new language using this method. They teach a new language in 1.5 - 2 months! Next comes US military but I am sure most major military organizations in the world would be good at it.
    2. Became smart, intellectual and financially powerful compared to others and spread the knowledge in your language and people will simply be forced to learn the language.

    This is just so true.... There is so much discussion about whether Hindi is the national language or not. Well officially it is not. But all those who say that they won't speak Hindi because it is not their mother tongue, just let them go out of their home state and stay for sometime in some other state which also has another regional language apart from Hindi. Now let us see in which language they speak! Would they learn the new regional language or would they try to communicate in Hindi? Don't bring English in between because everyone won't understand or speak English specially those who might not highly educated in English medium. I am a Bengali, stayed in Delhi and now in Odisha. The primary language for communication was Hindi for me till the time I could learn Odia. Odia people too cooperated with me😊😊😊

    Dear Arihant ji, I am from Bengaluru. My mother tongue is Tulu. I am brought up in Hyd. I made sure that I tried to speak and learn Telugu even though I didn't have it in school. In Bengaluru, I try to speak only Kannada. People are happy seeing us put an effort. They need to know that people respect their language and identity. I can speak Hindi and loved the Sanskritised Hindi since times of Ramayana and Mahabharatha. I would any day want sanskritised hindi as link language than colonial urdu or english. However, what is not appreciated is many north indians take pride in not speaking Telugu or Kannada. I have witnessed them yelling at cab drivers (shared) and bus conductors for not conversing in Hindi. Comments like, "यहां सब्जी अच्छा nahin हैँ, पनीर अच्छा नहिं हैं.. इत्यादि.." Not amongst themselves, but to us. I got lectured by an elderly man for not teaching hindi to my kids when they were v young. They spoke only Tulu at that time. They mock our skin colour, food habits and culture to us without any thought. Comments such as "you are too fair to be a South Indian" "you'll are not typically like a Bangalorean. You'll are pleasant" Even though it is technically a compliment, it feels terribly offensive and crass. People like me prefer to keep away from a fight, but behavior like this find aggressive resistance anywhere in the country. I would not want to live in any place in Bharath without attempting to learn the local language. We need not encourage supremacy but need to encourage mutual respect. Revival of Sanskrit as a link language is the best. Till then, hope we learn to co-exist without trying dominate over each other. 🙏

      One more, in Bengaluru, people do get annoyed when people come and speak to you in Malayalam and Telugu, but don't know Kannada living here for many years. So no, it is not just anger against Hindi. And no it is not just political. In our apartment, the management refused to fund Karnataka Rajyotsava fully, but had the money to host Holi, Halloween, Xmas, New Years. It obviously is hurtful and disrespectful. This is the reason it creates bad taste for the locals. It is a two way street. Pls don't make it seem like the angry Kannadiga is always at fault. The experience is very different🙏 there are two sides to the coin

      Urdu ek bharatiya bhasha hi hai, vaise bhi tumhari Tulu bhasha bahutaayat Urdu shabd hai, Kannada evam Telugu mein bhi. Uska kya karoge. Hindi toh Hindi hai, shuddh hindi naam ki aisi koi cheez nahi. Hindi se prem hai, theek hai parantu Urdu se dwesh mat kijiye. Nikaalna hai toh Angrezi jaisi videshi bhasha ko nikaaliye

    • @Roar1921
      @Roar1921 Год назад

      @@macksequeira4233 Aadarniya bhai Saab, I won't debate about Urdu being ours own or no. However, Sanskritised Hindi makes it easier for people to understand each other's languages, learn to speak more Indian languages and reduce the dependency on English. for eg: there are tons of common words in Sanskritised Hindi and Kannada, that are borrowed from Samskritam. Starts from-- Udhaaharan, Upyog, prayog, prayatn, anubhav, mahila, kirti, prasidhh, Kiran, Uday, ityaadi, ityaadi...Just gave a very small sample. There are more words from Samskritam in Kannada than Urdu. Familiarity with Sanskritised Hindi will make us polyglots, easily. not saying it is not possible otherwise, but the ease is more. Else, we will end up sticking to English as a link language. South Indians will continue to think they can never learn Hindi and bat for English above another Indian language unfortunately. Just my humble opinion🙏
