    We had proper seasons when I was a child,literally! Lovely hot summers,snow in winter etc. Now it is the opposite. Even the garden plants don’t know what to do. It’s all to do with climate change. Wonder who’s responsible?!🧐

    So, we apparently experienced the warmest April/May on record. I'm unsure on these facts considering the early to mid 2000's reached much higher temperatures. Yes we reached 41°, maybe higher in parts of the UK in the summer of 2022 but is all this just fear mongering and trying to make out we are in for more extreme heat? I ask becuase well, let's be honest the world has always experienced changes within its billions of years such as the ice age, of which it will no doubt return to in a few thousand years. Its natural for the world to constantly change its climate. So why do you, the met office try to scare people with your graphics and extreme heat warnings when it is literally just a part of the earths cycle? I appreciate what you do but the earth is not going to get so hot that everyone will die and crops will wither. It's simply apart of the earths cycle. If you believe that we are causing the earth to cook until it dies then maybe you should stop broadcasting as you are also a part of this so called problem. Anyway I'll still watch the met office for weather updates until then. Cheers

      Hi, firstly your perception of temperature is highly distorted by cloud amounts as official temperature is measured in the shade. Yes it was the warmest may on record, but the perception of other May's being warmer, this is because the human memory is imperfect and only remembers particularly hot, cold or wet spells. Therefore, many would be comparing hottest day (particularly hottest weekend day) rather than the temperature over a whole month- as people do not notice if the temperature is slightly above average. In terms of climate change, what is unprecedented and concerning is warming from a warm period, and the rate of change is unprecedented which limits adaptation from wildlife and humans.
      Hope this helps

      red colours on a map does not a climate change make,

      @CallumCollie 6 дней назад +4

      The colours are not to scare, they are supposed to help people who are colour blind or visually impaired see the forecast, to make it more accessible. This can be seen when they removed the green colours as a result of red green colour blindness
