You do a job in presenting the information in a respectful way. It can be hard to avoid sensationlism when looking for just the facts of "what happened". You did a good job
Some people are just build different. Imagine jumping out of your car to pull someone out of a flames inferno, setting yourself on fire in doing so, extinguishing yourself _ONLY TO RETURN_ to rescue someones life. I wish I had half as much courage. A piece of metal is insufficient to describe this level of heroism.
1:09:41 "Before you had barriers, you had trees." This single line, short as it is, and the clip of Jim Clark... yeah, that punched a hole in my heart. Phenomenal work on this third installment, but man, despite being a featuring of non-fatal crashes, some of these hit me really hard. I now understand why you said this would be a mix of episode 1 and episode 2, and the end result was worth every bit of patience. My favourite thing, and something that I paid attention to throughout the entirety of the premiere, is how you structured each of the crashes: 1) Giving the context and the background leading up to each crash (which, in some cases, helps lifting off the emotional baggage from a previous horrific crash). 2) Treating each of these crashes with profound respect for the people involved. 3) Narrating the aftermath of the crashes in a cathartic and emotional way, even when things didn't turn out for the better. I'm not sure if you have any writing background, but that kind of structure takes some serious skill to execute properly. And as much as this comment may look AI-generated; nah. It's just me talking out of my ass and trying to sound smart with big words. Anyway, great work on this episode Jack, and I shall be looking forward to the finale!
Thank you! No I don't have any writing background. I remember my English teacher back in school trying to encourage me to take up journalism because she thought I was good at writing but I didn't think much of it at the time. So that's basically it for my writing background 😅
i found this channel right before they posted episode 2 and i lost my mind at how well the video was made. they’re easily higher quality than any other documentary i have ever seen
When the algorithm showed me the first episode of this series, I almost didn't click on it. I was afraid it was going to be a sadistic gorefest, as so many videos with a similar theme can be. I am so glad I gave it a shot, because it was that amazing balance of brutal honesty in its imagery and total respect for the human beings at the center of those images. Episodes 2 and now 3 have kept up the great standard. I am looking forward to Episode 4! And, as someone who has, I confess, been more of a CART/IndyCar fan than F1, I really can't wait to see your piece on Alex Zanardi.
I met Mike Hailwood in New Zealand in the mid 1970s, he had one of his F1 cars on display and he was chatting and explaining aspects of the car to all who asked. A very amenable bloke.
the sight of a driver laid down directly on the track might be the most horrific thing to see... Even knowing he was still alive, Donnelly crash might be the scariest thing I've ever seen from F1
That part was initially really tough for me to watch. Then, I noticed Donnelly's twisted legs and I just couldn't bring myself to watch at all for a few moments. Absolutely horrifying.
and probably one of the most forgotten crash ever happenend in formula 1, at least for me... as @richardMcLaren said, in 99 of 100 cases, Donnelly and Grosjean would be dead, terrifying just watching it

Thank you! The research comes from multiple sources. I basically watched every F1 race I could from 1980 over a 2 year period so alot of information came from just watching those. Race reports from the likes of motorsport magazine & autosport are also good. Usually I read multiple sources on the same subject just to make sure that everything is correct. Another amazing video created with passion and empathy. Thank you again for putting the time and effort in to produce this episode without the sensationalism normally associated with horrific accidents. Brilliant work x
This series should be on Netflix or some other Pay to View streaming service. The quality of your work is among the best I've seen amongst F1 mini docs. I find myself getting lost in all this wonderful footage of seasons past. Thank you for this amazing documentary. ♥
Once again, excellent work, Jack. You're raising the bar on YT F1 history coverage. A couple of minor points - the Spanish Grand Prix dates from well before the advent of F1, first running in 1913. Oddly enough, that race stands as the only Grand Prix win for Rolls-Royce. Secondly (and more a comment than a correction), when Jochen Rindt was suspicious of Chapman & Lotus, he was right to be. The crashes at Montjuic were totally avoidable, but Colin wanted to fiddle with the cars, experimenting in the race by extending the rear wings of both cars by nearly a foot each side. These extensions are clearly visible in the colour photo's, as the aluminium used was left unpainted. Cheers... G
I'm at a loss of words. Great work as per usual. Been following since pt.1. I'm watching this from my room at a psychiatric hospital - going trough some dark times... You two made my evening. Thank you.
Well done over an hour and a hour feature length video thats alot of work and editing to do! Of the crashes the Burti crash was brutal and could easily have been fatal. You could tell Martin Brundle was very concerned.
Once again; Jack, your beautiful and empathetic retelling of these harrowing events has captivated me from start to finish. As seemlessly crafted as part one and two. I await part four with intrepid anticipation. Thank you for handling these stories and events with such class and respect.
Absolutely brilliant mate. All three videos were excellently written and presented. Hope you can make some decent historical videos about other F1 topics, like old circuits
Im loving this series. Its sad to see all these horrific crashes, but im starting to sense a theme. Episode 1 - no one passed away. Episode 2 - people unfortunately passed away. Episode 3 - people didnt pass away, you also mentioned that rindt's story will continue in episode 4.
You've really done something here with all three of these documentaries. It is a dark part of F1 but it is part of it and it's something people should know about. 🙏🏁🏎️

This is amazing work! I am a major fan of the older F1 years and you’ve captured the feel perfectly. Thank you! Can’t wait to see what comes next!
The king has return babyyyyyyyyy
This series should be on Netflix or some other Pay to View streaming service. The quality of your work is among the best I've seen amongst F1 mini docs. I find myself getting lost in all this wonderful footage of seasons past. Thank you for this amazing documentary. ♥
Thank you!
Thank you.
Big love, brother
Youre amazing brother ❤
This is excellent work, well done
Another great documentary, can't wait for the next one! Great work!
Well done over an hour and a hour feature length video thats alot of work and editing to do! Of the crashes the Burti crash was brutal and could easily have been fatal. You could tell Martin Brundle was very concerned.
You do such a good job with this delicate subject. 👍
Once again; Jack, your beautiful and empathetic retelling of these harrowing events has captivated me from start to finish. As seemlessly crafted as part one and two. I await part four with intrepid anticipation.
Thank you for handling these stories and events with such class and respect.
Once again, amazing job!!!
Good job guys! Incredible video!!! Amazing.
Absolutely brilliant mate. All three videos were excellently written and presented. Hope you can make some decent historical videos about other F1 topics, like old circuits
fantastic documentary, thank you so much!
I can only imagine the the work that went this and the preceding documentaries you made on this topic, Great Work!
Im loving this series. Its sad to see all these horrific crashes, but im starting to sense a theme. Episode 1 - no one passed away. Episode 2 - people unfortunately passed away. Episode 3 - people didnt pass away, you also mentioned that rindt's story will continue in episode 4.
Great documentary mate. Pleasurable narration on a difficult subject. Thanks.
Your made a part three! nice man good stuff.
It was worth the wait, top quality job 👏
This is an excellent series, well done
Glad to see this series back 🎉
Excellent documentary. This deserves a full fan DVD
Awesome documentary, the 97 minutes went super quickly 10/10 ❤️
Superb video. This whole series has been excellent and this episode was well worth the wait. Can't wait for #4. 👍🤙🏁
Good to see this is back up!!
You've really done something here with all three of these documentaries. It is a dark part of F1 but it is part of it and it's something people should know about. 🙏🏁🏎️
Thanks for another amazing video in this series it's so good keep it up ^^
Amazing video. Good job!
