That was never a band I listened out for, heavy metal was like a Bill & Ted thing by the time I started getting into music, but damn, that looks like one electric atmosphere running through that place, I could feel it through the screen. And the size of the crowd, 250 000 at least judging by festivals I have been too, maybe more, a lot more! That looks like a piece of history there, although it must be just after the wall came down because I swear that came down in 89? Great upload again Greg, hope Mum and Yourself are doing well, all the best m8e💯👍
Mums ok thanks Seb 🙏❤️. And your exactly right. The wall started to come down in 89. But it took until 92 according to what I was taught years ago for the Soviet Union and all it’s territories to start changing. This gig probably wouldn’t have happened under the old Soviet system. You can see the crowds sense of maybe the freedoms they never knew. Who knows. Even the soldiers are partying. 👊🍀👊. But yeah your history is spot on bro
@@gregprice103 That makes more sense, I was 9 when the wall came down so in my young mind I thought it must have come down overnight, I can remember the news reports well, I'm half German so it was interesting to me. It's not fair though, the Russians get Metallica and Germany gets a David Hasselhoff gig🤣 It's still a right nice piece of history there, something we don't see so much these days. Cheers M8e, hope you have a good day👍💯🙏💙
@@michaelbrumfitt That sounds like my kind of logistical nightmare LOL, what an event to be able to say you went to though! Thanks for the extra info m8, I knew 250 000 was a bit conservative but 1.6 million, what a gig! Cheers m8
You can see helicopters everywhere. And soldiers. I had to look up ‘iron curtain ‘ I get it now 😮
Yeah the iron curtain was coming down
