Where I come from, egg foo yung never comes with bean sprouts, just with peas and either unfilled or filled with crab meat.. We also top it with a tomato sauce.. Egg foo yung comes in so many variations, and at the end of the day you are free to have it however you like :)

Ms Harris, I been eating egg Foo Young for over 40 years and Never had it with bean sprouts. Then when I actually started making it years ago. I simply just made brown gravy using a mixture of flour/cornstarch if I have cornstarch available and I always put Paprika in the gravy because I love the rich reddish brown gravy that this Resturant use to make in New Jesey. OMG. It was the Best Gravy on Egg Foo Yung I ever had.
So I had to Duplicate it. I now finally got it down packed. Lol.
I make my sauce different from Gina. But I am Definitely Going to use Gina's Recipe. Gina Just Is Such An Awesome Chef. I only like to make Shrimp Egg Foo Yung.

Adding a tablespoon of Oyster sauce to your sauce and one to your egg mixture (remove some of the bouillon so it won’t be salty) it will give it really good flavor. That’s what we use in the restaurant.

I’ve always wanted to make this but thought it was to complicated. Thank you ❤️

    • @105murt
      @105murt Год назад

Not Complicated. Beat up some eggs. Drain and dry a can of Bean Sprouts. Put the bean sprouts (1/3 Can) on a plate and rough chop. Separate unused sprouts and freeze in small sandwich bags for just the amount you might need next time. Saute "cup up" mushrooms and Shrimp-remove shells. Give a quick saute in a shallow pan of those 3 things. Stir into beaten egg. Then, using a ladle, put the egg into a hot wok. let brown, Flip over, and brown. Turn the heat down, and remove when other side is brown. For gravy, I used packaged brown gravy powder. Follow the directions on the package and add a bit of soy, sesame oil, and a bit of hoison sauce for the gravy.

If you want thicker sauce, do like she said. Add more cornstarch. If you want darker gravy add a drop of gravy master or Burnt Sugar. They taste the same. Been eating egg fu yung over 40 years and not one time was there bean sprouts in it. It really depends on each individual resturant. In NJ and in TX and so far if I'm too lazy to make it. I've still never had one. With bean sprouts in it and I had from so many Chinese Restaurants. Each is different.

You should have scrambled your eggs first, then add your veggies.

You say OK to many times. You say more than necessary in high pitch voice and it’s annoying.

    Q. How many times can you say "ok" and "guys" in 1 short video
    A. Way too many obviously...
    1. Gravy too thin
    2. Teach that kid to not eat with his hands...

Am I the only one who loves her videos but can’t stomach listening to her eating what she made. It’s so gross that I can’t have my children hear that sloppy rudeness. Come on we get the point from words that it’s good/amazing but we don’t want to hear it sloshing around in your mouth & who talks with food with their mouth? I don’t want you teaching my children bad manners

YOU are the parent & YOU teach your children proper manners.

If it bothers you that bad, turn the volume down or off when she starts eating or simply end the video. Problem solved.

Your recipe is missing the most important ingredient, BEAN SPROUTS!

Gina, your recipe is not correct, it is made up of Bean Sprouts, eggs, and some kind of meat. Then make a brown gravy on to. Look on Pintrest for a recipe. Your look just like an omlette.

Been eating it over 40 years from NJ Chinese Restaurants and not one time was beea sprouts in it.
I always ordered Shrimp Egg Foo Yung. It had a rich reddish Brown Gravy. Since Egg Foo Yung is An
American Chinese Made Food, Each Chinese Restaurant Make It The Way They Choose. Usually When You Order Vegtable Foo Yung it will then have sone bean sprouts in it. So I'm Thinking it is a Lot of Variations of Egg Foo Yung. But it sure is a dish that
      Americans Love To Eat.😊😊

Egg Foo Yung is an omlette. Just a specified omlette with variations of meat and some Asian style veggies. With a thick sauce. Light brown to medium brown. Therefore Gina Egg Foo Yung is Correct and Delicious!!
