    since the time this clip was shot, there has been a resurgence in 70's wood paneling sales....people have been gutting old buildings and farmhouses of any usable 70's paneling they can find because of it's warm acoustical reflective properties

    This little piece of music saved me. It was a piece of hope in the midst of a dark addiction. I learned to play this piece on my strat, thats wad the beginning of my sobriety

    Tom, I know I already said it once, but I will repeat myself: your playing is so pure, so honest, so melodic and this is something what you can NOT learn-you have to be born with that beautiful gift! All those "big technicians like Vai, Petrucci etc. can take a seat, watch and cry... they can play as fast as they want, but they simply can not create something like this, they simply do not have it. You are the true artist!

    '70's paneling? That's '50's era, old growth from the golden age of paneling. Much warmer reflections than the 70's variety. LOL!

    Hey, just wanted to share with my fellow maniacs (you know, the guys who have been coming back to watch this video for a decade or more/lol) that Tom sat down and did an interview on the Thinkin' & Drinkin" podcast. Obviously, Tom doesn't do more of that stuff, so anything is a treat, but it's really a fantastic conversation. Also, in case you missed it, Jeff Senn did a TrueTone Lounge interview which is ALSO fantastic.

    The song is an improvisation. The Tone is first and foremost from Tom's hands and heart, trust me on that one. The gear is a very lightweight ash bodied Original Senn Fullerton on the Lollar Blackface neck pickup through a Princeton Reverb with a touch of delay courtesy a Line 6 Echo Park.

      You know that Bukovac is a monster when the builder leads off with a disclaimer letting you know that the tone you hear at home may not be the exact tone you hear on this demo. Not because of poor craftsmanship or shotty quality control, but because you are not, nor will you ever be, on the level of the guy creating the aforementioned tone in the demo. God, I love it! 😂😂😂 All jokes aside, Senn guitars are some of the best guitars money can buy, truly top shelf. Well done, brother!

    Man o man, this just can't be totally improvised, come on it's just to friggin' perfect. I love that tune, I already learned it step by step, sec by sec. It reminds me of John Mayer and slow dancing in a burning room, same vibe. Total impro? I guess I'm not that talented as Mr. Tom :S At least his surname is from a neighbour country I live in :P Totally awesome :O

  • @JeffSennGuitars
    @JeffSennGuitars  15 лет назад +2

    The Lollars have a wider frequency range and tend to "hear" the wood of the individual guitar better and translate that through an amp. They tend to take the "S" style guitar tone a bit further and enhance it while still having a vintage lineage.
    The Fralins are more traditional sounding albeit really good sounding at that.
    I'm generalizing though for the sake of description. We have used both brands extensively with outstanding results. The wood dictates what is needed

  • @JeffSennGuitars

    The Princeton Reverb that Tom is using in the video is a '73 with a new cabinet

    Really nice saturation and granularity to the midrange tone - very Texas Special. Takes a guitarist of Tom's caliber to manage this. Love the way he articulates with bending the trust. I might have to steal that move.

    My answer was tongue in cheek & friendly jesting/questioning. If you read a derogatory or "shitty" tone to my response then you applied that yourself. It's one of the unfortunate things about the internet/chat forums. Things can be taken entirely out of context or read with a totally different tone than intended. There are many builders these days offering similar products at many price points and if you wish to spend your money with one of them I wish you the best of luck in your quest for tone
