  • In this fully narrated video, I show you how we fit into the mix of departures spaced between arrivals at LaGuardia Airport so we can fly the BRONX CLIMB off of runway 4. What a sound our engines will make as we climb over the Bronx! I'll talk about my current status with Delta and bring you all the way down to the approach over Mar-A-Lago to West Palm Beach!

    Peter- looks like you enjoyed both legs of your PBI trip. Glad you shared them! BTW- Most aircraft parts (windows, engines, nacelles etc.) are rarely changed. Some, like brakes and tires are regularly changed. Radomes are done as needed. Ablative stresses like heavy rain and hail, or worse a bird-strike, require a new or rebuilt radome. The paint used is non-radar absorbent and getting a match with other than a brand-new aircraft paint job is unlikely. Cheers

    Great video as always Peter! Thank you for mentioning the Clear situation, it’s even worse at MCO. Reg TSA precheck much faster our last several trips at LGA and MCO, but that’s for another time.
    Last week very cool day as I watched 31 switch from departure to landing, and 4/22 switch as well. All the best, be well 😎.

    The paint used on the nose of the A/C has to be a special blend so it dose not interfere with the radar. Sometimes, the painters do not have a matching shade and they put on what they have to get the job done.

    Nice video as always. Seems like every East Coast Florida airport has similar landing procedures. Your Daytona flight last video, as well as when FLL is using runway 28 for arrivals. Also is runway 14/32 ever used at PBI? Seems rare.

    • @PeterMasella
      @PeterMasella  2 месяца назад

      True. Yes, you can see a small plane using 14/32 in the video once we vacate the runway.

      I didn’t put my name on the list for this flight as I had a good window seat to begin with and I had a travel companion sitting next to me.

    As I live nearby (Jackson Heights - about 6 blocks further than Vaughan College), I have to mention the building to the left of VC. That used to be a Marriott Courtyard that closed during COVID. About .5 mile down that road (Ditmars?) is the full Marriott. I wonder what is happening w/ the old Courtyard building.

      It would make more sense for an international hub although sadly it seems in the US there's almost no drive to make it happen anywhere. Other airports have whole hotels behind security making layovers a breeze

    I have taken off numerous times from Runway 4 but prefer sits on the left side so can see the whole New York City and sometimes it’s flew over Tarrytown, NY where I used to lived from 1965-69
    I prefers LGA over JFK 😂😂😂😂

    • @PeterMasella
      @PeterMasella  2 месяца назад

      I typically sit on the left side when taking off on runway 4 but decided to change it up a bit for this video. Unfortunately, it looks like the plane flew right over Manhattan on the southwest heading which yeilds bad Manhattan views on both sides.
