I'm 5'6" with shoes on and about 125 lbs after dinner. I have a 35" chest; I usually wear XS tops and 28x28 pants (or 28x30 cuffed).
My best suit jacket size is 34 Short, but even 34S needs alterations (mostly shortening of the sleeves and jacket), so my best-fitting suits are custom.

Brock, just curious if you happened to buy any printed “UT” T-shirts, that you didn’t feature in the video. I’m trying to figure out if the printed UT T-shirts are the same fit as the U short sleeve crewneck. My sister-in-law in Korea gifted me one of the printed UT shirts. Initially I thought the sleeves were too wide for my liking kinda like your comments about the U crewneck, but the generous cut is growing on me
Yeah the supima tee is definitely the best 💯 I was so happy that the shoulders actually fit correctly on my arms and the length wasn’t too long. The small fit perfectly on my 150 pound 5’8” frame
I've always liked Banana Republic for standard fit tees. Uniqlo is my go to for oversized, and my most recent favorite t shirt hands down has been my Wool & Prince heavyweight merino wool shirt
Uniqlo U Crew neck tshirts they are soooo good, fits me like a glove and they don't fall apart easily.

for me the U Crew Neck and Supima are my go to tees for casual wear. The U Airism is mainly to wear under Sweatshirts :)
As I am going into my late 20s its so interesting to see men's fashion (fashion in general) going in the cyclical pattern that everyone talks about. From 2010 until very recently, in the US, skinny fit clothing was the trend. Now we are going back to roomier oversized clothing just like I see in the pictures of late 90s and 00s. I'm definitely trying to build myself a timeless wardrobe right now of clothing that is neither too fitted or loose, and I feel comfortable in. It's a continual challenge as I learn my preferred fit, gained weight from lifting (and not being a skinny 20 year old), and have to account for concealing a firearm. Love these videos Brock. Keep them up.
Mate, are you describing me lol? (minus the firearm concealement as I'm from the UK).
Also trying to build a timeless wardrobe, but as a short dude at 5'1, finding perfect fitting clothes is tough!
I'm ok w/hemming, but atm trying out different T's and nearly all are too long/shoulder seam not right.
Think I've settled for one from Asket at £35, but I also ant spending £15 to get a T short (that is too long) hemmed lol.
It's all a journey!
@@GreekFireWarrior Glad to hear there are people my age trying to achieve the same style goals. I'm not interested anymore in constantly expressing myself via clothing or trends. I just want stuff that fits well, makes me look good, and is comfortable. The firearm concealment adds a bit of complexity but it's not too difficult to work with. I just need two sizes of pants for when it's in my waistband and when I'm not carrying it.

Has amazing 'basic' timeless clothes wardrobe (albeit made a few years ago where maybe now you could opt for a more straight fit jean/chino etc etc.) But nothing from with slim!
Also interesting to me is I lived in Asia for 10 years until 2018, and the trends I see catching on now in the US were already a thing right before I left Korea. Uniqlo started doing these more moder fits with their U/UT tees, and in their collaborations with JW Anderson and Lemaire. And lol, those countries certainly aren’t worried about concealing firearms. The police barely carry them and I can’t think of anywhere I’ve been in Korea where I felt at risk
I have a pretty middle of the road build so I can do both the slim and oversized style. Tbh, I like having pieces that fit differently. It’s fun to switch it up through the week.
I have a similar build and even slim fit tshirts had roomier armholes for me. Yeeaars ago I learned how to taper sleeves on t-shirts by sewing a single stitch on the inside seam. Absolute gamechanger. Makes arms look bigger and any tshirt fit perfect as long as the body is a decent fit.

@@danivill5277 You have to have some sewing experience. Real Men Real Style has a video on sewing t shirt sleeves. I'm a little more basic. Turn the shirt inside out and lay flat. Let's say when flat the sleeve opening is 8 inches and you want to slim it to a 7 inch opening. Measure from the outside corner to the inside and make a mark at 7 inches. Then sew a line from that mark, all the way to the corner of the pit seam. Make sure both ends won't unravel. Even if it comes out bad you can almost not tell when you wear the shirt since no one ever sees the inside of your arms that much. You can cut the extra fabric, or leave it incase you want to undo it and try again. It takes a few times to get the hang of it, but it will change your life haha.
Yes. I would like to see a Uniqlo review. I was looking at the Uniqlo white t shirts last night. I came to the conclusion that the Supima 100% cotton would be the best for me. But this video gave me good ideas about a t shirt as an undershirt or work out t shirt.

The Dry color and Supima tees have been my go to T-shirts from Uniqlo for many years now. I do agree with you in that Uniqlo had definitely changed the fit of their Supima cotton tees a few years back, but have since reverted back to their usual cut.
I have since dabbled in the U Airism over-sizes tees, and they have been my go to in the summer months. They are just so damn comfortable when the temperature and humidity climbs outside.
How durable is dry color in your opinion? I prefer airism cotton short sleeve but i dont like the navy color since its almost black color, dry color has the best classic fit for me and the navy color is on point for me.
@@JC-tg5xx So far dry colour tees has been holding up really well, as most of mine are over 3-4 years old, and still going strong. There are some fading for my navy and black, but I noticed that in my supima cotton tees also. They hold their shape really well, and have no holes or tears.
Honestly I tend to gravitate towards my Uniqlo tees WAY more then my more expensive tees from other brands. They fit well, have tons of colour options, and I know they are replaceable.

@@JC-tg5xx Both. No shrinkage from the dryer. I will always wash and line dry them inside-out.
Can't beat the classic Supima. I have several. I'm just under 5'8, weight around 170-180, and I find the Medium fits close to perfect

I still own plenty of the Supima cotton shirts for baselayers, but the U crew has quickly become my favourite. Its got the right weight and I like to cuff my sleeves, which holds really well
The U tee is my fav. The neck line is thick and it's only 10$ in my country.
2:26 I lived in Korea for many years and would shop at UNIQLO regularly. When I moved back to the US, I did notice the fits and the sizing seemed a bit different. Interested to order some stuff and see how the latest stuff fits

The U crew neck tees are my fav. even after multiple washes they're still great. Funnily enough i use the supima cotton as undershirts or for layering, didnt know they had an actual line better suited to that. i never wear the supima just as a shirt, though thats more because of my build, i prefer boxy tees
Hey Brock, have you tried tucking the oversized t-shirts? It gives it a much better stylish smart look with jeans or trousers.
I wish I had a Uniqlo store in Austin. I was spoiled when I lived in Korea having so many Uniqlo’s available, and there they will hem any pants you buy in the store for free, usually in less than an hour.
If one were to hem the length of the T-Shirt? Would you recommend a straight cut hem or curved cut hem to create a more streamlined look? Thanks!

My issue with supima is that the color faded very easily for me, even after 1st wash, so airism cotton short sleeve is the next best thing, wear it like a normal tshirts, with jeans, chinos, shorts, sometimes working out in it, sleep with it, my biggest issues with it is that the navy is a bit too dark, otherwise, it fits quite well and its durable and doesnt wrinkle that easily
I think the U is the best balance due to the weight/feel plus the still decent fit

Yeah i agree i have 2 of those U t-shirts and i love it. Very simple yet the quality of fabric is there.
I find the supima shirt a bit too thin for my taste, and prefer the higher GSM of the U T. Might also be my bias of confusing fabric density with quality.

I'd probably go with the Uniqlo U regular tee (not the oversized AIRism one). It has more room than the supima but isn't super trendy.

I'm looking at getting some new tshirts for my wardrobe soon and im having a tough time deciding whether its better to get something like uniqlo tees or invest a ton in higher end shirts like Asket. It's a dilemma of having to somewhat baby/worry about the higher end tees or have something to not worry about with something more affordable. Any thoughts?
I don't think you get a huge quality bump going to ASKET from Uniqlo. You're paying for a more responsible supply/manufacturing chain, though. Uniqlo is definitely fast fashion.

Only 100% cotton t-shirts for me because they wash better than the 50% poly blend/ 50% cotton. My favourite brand at the moment is “Kin” in a size large available in the UK from John Lewis.
Please, what do you think about a blue denim jacket with dark gray jeans? Would it be appropriate or better? A different color of chinos, in your opinion, is the best color for chinos with a denim jacket. Thank you.
Blue and grey is usually a solid combo! You could also go with brown, off white, white or black pants.

Hey Brock, my last batch of Supima cotton Uniqlo tees shrunk up so much in the wash, they are too short to wear now. Did you not experience that?
Def some shrinkage, but a good amount in my experience. But I don't dry with any heat, and I often air dry my clothes. If I wanted to dry with heat every time, I'd buy a size S and not worry about the shrinkage.

Did you notice any difference with the new supima cotton and your older ones? On the uniqlo website they stated that they updated it and made it thicker. I have the one white for 3 years and it was cheaper back then but i notice the white one is somewhat transparent . Now with the update they also double the price. The white is definitely not transparent this year, unlike the dry fit shirt. It does feel a bit heavier than my old supima tee, now that you mention it.

Does Uniqlo still make Airism undershirts? I have a few but last time I checked I don’t recall seeing them.
Still available here in Japan. Usual availability depends on the seasons. Heat tech undershirts in winter and airism in summer.

Hey Brock what shirt do you recommend for a guy that is 5’3-ish? Chest is 30. My only bad luck with X-tra smalls is that the length is still too long
ASKET XS/short or Buck Mason shorter length. You could also try a niche brand like Ash & Erie or Abbreviated Apparel.

Personally i love the airism oversized. Im also 5ft 6 but im 160lbs muscular. 40in chest 29waist. The small fits lovely

uniqlo' supima tees can feel and be vastly different across the colors. i got it in black, white, and grey, white and black are great, no complaints their. but the grey one was garbage, lost color in just 2-3 washes, neck area faded real ugly, the t-shirt was significantly flimsier. i had to turn it into a wiping cloth after 8-10 days of wear.

Gotta say out of all of these I preferred the $10 Dry Color on you, simply because of the more fitted arm holes.
Something about seeing all the extra fabric jutting away from your arms when they're at your sides really irks me, a preference, funny enough, I believe I developed watching your videos!
I hear ya! It does make the arms look good, but I have to say, a little extra room is so much more comfortable.

Mostly doing jiu jitsu these days. Not much extra time for weights right now, other than some body weight stuff.
Sleeves are all too long and loose, even on the Supima. Not flattering.
Shorter and tighter would be pretty uncomfortable, especially if you’re at all active. I’d rather not have to pull the sleeves down my bicep and out of my armpit all the time 😏

I think wearing a plain white tee out in public just looks like you're wearing an undershirt. I've never understood the appeal.
I actually agree, and I almost never wear a white tee (except maybe with tan chino shorts). I just went with all white in this video for consistency. I’d take grey/pink/beige over white any day!

$20-25 for a mass produced tshirts made out of widely available materials is not reasonable. There's nothing special about making them.
What do you think is reasonable for a Supima cotton tee?
@@BrockMcGoff $10 max. They even make them in Vietnam, and it costs them next to nothing to do so. "The average monthly salary of a worker in Vietnam is about $150 per month".
@@bosonhiggs1724 gotcha, makes sense. But do you think $10 is enough to compensate everyone involved? Growing the cotton plants, weaving it into fabric, designing the patterns, cutting and sewing, packing/packaging, photography, web design/dev/hosting, shipping and returns, customer service, marketing.
I'm personally okay with paying a little more to make sure no one is getting screwed, and to me $20-25 seems reasonable (if not too low).
But I do see where you're coming from, especially looking at just the labor cost in places like Vietnam.

Pricing it around $10 wouldn't significantly impact most employees' salaries, but it might mean the CEO of Uniqlo, who is also the richest person in Japan, buys one less luxury item. I don't mind people getting rich, but I do mind how exorbitant margins in the fashion industry contribute to such wealth disparity. I have bought 10-15 t-shirts from Uniqlo, paying $4-$8/each while on sale. Even at sale prices, Uniqlo makes a profit.
@@bosonhiggs1724 I agree with your sentiment about over-wealthy execs, but I don't think exorbitant margins are to blame. I think it's mostly underpaid staff (usually toward the beginning of the supply chain, i.e. garment factory workers). Having spent some time in the apparel/ecomm world, I can say for certain that no company makes a profit on a $4 t-shirt. Although that revenue can contribute to a profitable year, that specific item doesn't have any margin (it probably loses money after overhead).
Balancing exec pay would mean systemic changes, probably regulated by governments. Lowering profit margins wouldn't help anyone except the customer, and we don't need the help IMO.
