All humor aside, you've proved once again what separates the "landscape photographer" from the SERIOUS landscape photographer! You put yourself into an obviously uncomfortable spot just to get good compositions...KUDOS TO YOU...what an inspiration!!
Gavin - I feel your pain! I've fallen 3 times in the past month or so. Fallen into cold, swampy, bog water with my backpack on! Luckily not too deep but enough to get a good soaker and force me to continue hiking for a couple of hours with wet pants, wet feet and water soaked wellies! Ah, what we do to capture the light. Keep up the good work and the good fight.
Ohh this brings back memories. Decided to go waterfall hunting in the winter. On a closed track. Where Motorbikes make huge ruts. I walked and walked and walked, gave up after 2 hours of trying to find my way in a jungle.I lost my way through the overgrown trees, due to no-one visiting during our lockdowns here. I was just 400 metres shy of the waterfalls. I could hear them, but had to give up due to fading afternoon light, as I had missed my opportunity of setting up for the shot. It was downhill all the way there, slid 3 times and uphill all the way back, slid back down 3 or 4 more times. I sacrificed the whole day almost 3 hrs driving each way, I walked about in a jungle for 6 km's in total, I missed my shot, I got muddy, I was very wet, I was extremely tired and I came away with very little of photos. Exciting trip........ Well..In theory..... Hahaha.
I now find myself turning to an imaginary camera and saying “would you look at this business” when I’m out and the light kicks off. Thanks for influencing my vocabulary Gavin.
Beautiful shots of the mountains and water reflections and mixed with your entertaining style of teaching had me laughing in stitches! Thanks! Amando too is hilarious!
It is early morning and I started watching this.. and it had me laughing my butt off (no pun intended) thanks for the tips, and for starting my day off in a happy way!
Your videos are always great fun to watch. I was horrified when you took a dip, (thought your camera had gone under). Love your locations. I checked on google maps and that lake is only 2,100 miles from where I live. I'll just have to continue seeing these awesome locations through your channel. Thanks for being there.
***The Most Endeavoring Landscape Photographer of the Year 2021*** Tremendous effort and fantastic images Gavin!! If this does not win you a title, I don't know what will.
What's up Gavin? Doing what you're doing to get those epic shots is all about sacrifice. That's what it really takes. Those shots came out really nice.
there are SO many "oh it's big" puns & jokes, but i will keep it clean lol.. i actually really liked the image with the 2 tufts of grass and mudbog as foreground elements..
Once again you've done it! Fantastic photos plus educational instruction (Don't wear your camera bag in a swamp) plus comedy. Gavin Hardcastle - you ROCK.
That final image is spectacular! I think the clean reflections are much nicer than with the grasses but I don’t think I’d have liked going for a dip to get it! Unless I’m mistaken that was a little leech having a bit of a feed on your forehead unbeknownst to you at around 8:20? During a trip to Minyon Falls last year I had one on my cheek as I was vlogging and didn’t realise it was there for ages until I eventually spotted it in the screen...I’ve gotta say I like the idea that I’m not the only person to have leeches attached to their face without realising it! 😄 And as always, Amanda is a classic! Yep, she’s definitely getting that job with the forehead mo!! 🤣👍
Can't believe I haven't seen that landscape photography top tip before. Those other YT channels suck.......although, now I think about it, Adam Gibbs did invest in a set of chest waders on a recent trip.....
Fantastic shot..so beautiful. 😂😂...You definitely need to buy some waders. Hope the camera survives for you. OmG Amanda withe the mustache and the tongs 😂😂😂🤣
Gavin: I think I'm going to get in there Amanda: Is that a leech or are you just happy to see me Your images are so nice. I have been reduced to shots of birds at the feeder taken thru a window. It's just sad.
I wonder if he ever noticed that pesky piece of crap on the side of his forehead..milking away on his blood at 8:05 probably drained a few brain cells too. I hate mosquities. Great video.
I can't believe you didn't take a leaf from Adam's playbook and put on some Wellies! Oh well! The slimy bloodsucking leaches had a feast and I suppose everything needs a meal! Great video Gavin as usual. You are an inspiration to all Brits! To wear wellies!
Loved that last shot. Just beautiful. Also there’s nothing like a beautiful woman with a mustache yanking a leach out of your arse. Icing on the cake.🤪
So good man ... the blood donor zone .. millions of waves of hatred .. wet cracks and stunning shots !! So worth the effort of me sitting here in the comfort of my chair :-)
The sacrifices you make to pass on your photographic knowledge is commendable. To Amanda, next time to remove leech's you have to burn them so they release their blood sucking mouths. Though to use a naked flame in that area could have been very dangerous :)
Great job man! Beautiful pictures and as always great humor. This makes me want to sacrifice myself and make time again to go and capture photos. My graveyard job makes very difficult for me to have time to vlog again
The knarly's are sedge roots, large clumps of various bog and wetland grasses. Hell to walk through when the water is low, leg trippers and ankle breakers when grown. Just came back from a walk with the dog through our frozen bog. Having been stuck hip deep in the muck. that plunge gives me the creeps. Odd you would post it on the one day I finally got up the guts to walk out again, lol!
Sorry you fell, however I'd happily trade that for traffic I have to put up with on my way home from work. Sure mosquitos suck blood.. drivers here suck the life from me. Your photos continue to bring a smile to my face and your videos make me laugh. Thank you
The photo toward the end was worth all your trials and tribulations! Sorry about the leeches, the mosquitos, the soaked clothes and camera bag, Gavin! The lengths you will go to for a dynamite image is an inspiration to all of us. I am not sure that Amanda will get her job. Keep us posted. :)
Whenever I put my camera bag down and wander off for a shot I always find I've left something I need back in the bag! I was expecting to see the 'appropriate footwear' Gavin but looks like even you have some limits!! lol
Love a reflection, very nice indeed. I fell in the bog at Kilchurn Castle one morning, bag on my back too, got away with it but it was cold. Love the image, well worth the suffering you endured. :-)
Classic issue. Falling in. When I was forest fire fighting in the Ft. Mac area, this was a classic issue. I remember having to swim through a beaver pond with my pulaski and radio pack over my head to catch a spot fire.... I feel your pain here.
@@fototripper Depends on the situation and perspective I guess. Your leech dodging tactics and humour have probably made someone smile today and probably saved a life. I saved a tree. 😉
At 8.58 you had a walrus sized bott fly impregnating your right temple with offspring. Should emerge in September. As the camera angle changes you have another burrowing into your nasel septum. Unless that was Kit Kat crumbs.
Another good one Gavin. From that final shot of what Amanda pulled out I think you need to stop eating so much grass. My dogs do that sometimes and similar stringy excrement arrives in a day or two. :) Oh, and nice photos as well.
All humor aside, you've proved once again what separates the "landscape photographer" from the SERIOUS landscape photographer! You put yourself into an obviously uncomfortable spot just to get good compositions...KUDOS TO YOU...what an inspiration!!
I had a giant leech taken off my back in 1996. Cost half of everything I had but losing her was a huge weight off and worth every penny.
@fototripper Please never stop making these videos.
Times may be a bit crappy but these videos rise above all crap by far. 👍🏻❤️
Always a good feeling when you turn on the computer and find a new episode from Fototripper. Great shot!
I love landscape photography........videos on my computer!
Hey, It's Nigel! ;) Nice to see you here commenting Nigel. The Bonsai guru of Canada, possibly, the world! :)
Another monumental shot Gav. Old Blighty misses you talents, but love your Shoots and lessons....

Amazing, definitely worth falling in to the pond so that we could enjoy the scenery
bloody brilliant GH, no doubt about it. and that Amanda, well, her talents are endless, she's brilliant. atb matey.
Mate, how do you only have 52K subscribers?? Your content is top notch!
Amanda is hilarious! And maybe invest in some hip waders!
8:00 I almost threw something at the screen trying to get that mosquito off your forehead, lol
I felt way to anxious during that.
I now find myself turning to an imaginary camera and saying “would you look at this business” when I’m out and the light kicks off. Thanks for influencing my vocabulary Gavin.
hahahah brillyant
Beautiful shots of the mountains and water reflections and mixed with your entertaining style of teaching had me laughing in stitches! Thanks! Amando too is hilarious!
Love the video guys!! Great shot Gavin!
It is early morning and I started watching this.. and it had me laughing my butt off (no pun intended) thanks for the tips, and for starting my day off in a happy way!
Stunning shot. For me, sitting in my warm dry home, it was worth your getting wet for.

Hey Gavin, I'm so sorry for your adventure, but I'm still laughing !!
thanks for sharing, beautiful images!
ciao

Even Uncle knows when its time to don hip waders! Great shot so I suppose it was worth it! ;-)

You worked hard for those images and it paid off , fantastic location , beautiful images.
I really can't tell how much I enjoy watching your videos... ❤️
You don't get that kind of graphic content from Tony and Chelsea Northrup.
Once again you've done it! Fantastic photos plus educational instruction (Don't wear your camera bag in a swamp) plus comedy. Gavin Hardcastle - you ROCK.
Love it 😀 😍
The picture is stunning 😍
Your videos are simply the best from an entertainment point of view!
Cracking image! The things you do to get a shot, but next time take the crystals.
Funny as!!
Cracking shots of a great location....nearly as good as exotic Tynemouth !!
Amanda get extra credit this week. Nasty leeches. Great shot Gavin. You bagged it!
Another stellar video, Gavin. Keep em coming.
Really a great shot. Just proof that hard work gets rewarded.
OMG the leech...I liked Amanda and her crystals ...curiously, she seemed to have an extra one on her finger. hmmmmm???
hahah babooom hawkeye
@@fototripper I hope I'm not out of order to say that congratulations are very much IN order! 💍

:) I got a chuckle to last me the day...you manged to get a great photo under xtreme conditions..and like always Amanda was a charmer. :) :) :)
I wouldve busted out the telephoto at 6:53. That lighting is very interesting. You seem to rarely use longer lenses
Love that shot that was gorgeous Gavin that would make a beautiful print . She looked like she had a unibrow lol love you guys ❤️
Great job getting that mist in there, I'm envious!
Fantastic shot..so beautiful. 😂😂...You definitely need to buy some waders. Hope the camera survives for you. OmG Amanda withe the mustache and the tongs 😂😂😂🤣

You need to buy a pair of those long-ass rubber boots that Uncle Grumpy wears.
Awesome shots.
Superb photos again, Gavin. Can I suggest getting some waders like Uncle Grumpy!
Goop up in some Picaridin...Great shot; diligence and suffering pays off.
You brighten my day up with your humour and great photographs keep then coming
Another fine episode! Nice mountains!

Stunning shots and as always, hilarious!! :) keeping safe and well I hope Gavin?
NRS neoprene knee high socks. I love using mine for these types of situations.
Taking a dive was worth it though. Great photo.👍🙂
A mid week pleasure to be hold pure gold
Great video on getting an epic shot! Thank goodness you had at least 4 liters left after your giant vampiric leech exsanguination!

Very nice thanks for the laughs
