When the notification bubble popped up with something about, “I’m rich because of landscape photography,” my first reaction was oh no, not some jerk bragging about how much money he is making on RUclips and if you buy his 10-episode video course you can become a one-percenter too. But to my great relief and delight it was Gavin banging on about the true wealth bestowed upon those who pursue the play of light on the landscape, proving this is wealth you can share without limit.
Undoubtedly the best RUclips presenter of the times - humour without cheese,; technique without blandness; erudition without 1970s Open University monotone. All in all, every one a winner.
Man you are so inspiring, even the sun didnt came out longer and you forgot your tele lens, you didnt gave up and showed us different beautiful spots you wont notice so easy. Love your Videos!
We have just stumbled across your channel and are so happy we did!! The funniest man from Yorkshire ‘face like a pre-chewed dumpling ....’ never laughed so much in ages. Looking forward to watching many more of your vlogs and the photography is pretty darn good too!! From Two Lancashire Locals 👍🏻
Thanks for the video and composition tips, Gavin! You sure found a good place for your photos. That formation does look like a dinosaur or dragon. Thanks also for the fashion tips. Always helpful.
My wife and I enjoy all the sorts of eye-rolls Amanda can lay on you, Gavin! Another wonderful video. They bring so many smiles and we love traveling with you.
Recently found you off the back of all the boring serious landscape photographers. You are much easier to pleasure ones self too. On a serious note, the photos and your journey to take them are both amazing.
At time of writing 23 people dislike this video. Don't understand that. It's free 🤷🏻♂️ If you're not enjoying it, stop watching it 🤷🏻♂️ Keep up the great work Gavin
I find your vlogs make a nice break from reality. Your humor, great filming and interesting content make twenty minutes fly by as one gets immersed into your content. Great job, and keep them coming! I need my weekly fixes :-)
You never fail to impress Gavin! Please continue making life more bearable for us poor schmucks here in lockdown. Fantastic shots and Amanda was brilliant. Cheers!
Absolutely gorgeous photography! And your absolutely right, wealth isn't measured by your bank account, it's measured by life experiences, especially in Nature. Cheers!
I watched Gavins interview with the Irish P.P. and he was on about changing up the music when he had time. I would say don't bother I love the feel good vibes to his music selection.
Gavin, I was working on my studio pretty bored today and stop for lunch. Watch your video while eating and let me tell you I am smiling now. Thanks for documenting your trips with your usual humor and those photography tips. The perspective blend was a new thing for me! Thanks. You cannot be richier than that!
Hey Gavin your videos are just always top notch quality with hilarious humor and inspiring and very helpful photography tutorials as well. For me you have one of the best photography channels out there!! Keep them coming!
@@fototripper Joke aside, I have to admit that whenever I watch on my laptop, first I look for the final shots by hovering over the seekbar, then I watch the full episode, for the explanations and shenanigans.
one of my favorite bits you do is your time slept/ face like a " insert funny analogy here". this one made me belly laugh. thanks for bringing the fun to landscape photography. when the border opens up, and my health is good enough to hike, i definitely want to join one of your workshops.
gavin hardcastle, none of your videos are depressing! i watch till the end music starts at the very end and see you try falling...but you never do ;) keep it up sir
I drive the Malahat every day and in spring catch the sunrise lighting up the red trunks and green leaves of the Arbutus with a glow heading down hill North just past the split rock lookout.
Worked my way through all your videos, and I'm finally up to date with today's. The passion you put into your photos and videos has helped rekindle my love for landscape photography, inspired me to pick my old 50d back up, dust it off and get back out there. Cheers from the Lower Mainland.
I totally agree with what you said about the value of landscape photography. For me, photography also has a relaxing and decelerating effect. Simply good for the soul. You are definitely one of the most entertaining, informative and talented photographers I know. I like the cinematic shots in your videos. It makes me want to go out and shoot for myself. But I miss the outtakes at the end of the videos.
Thanks a lot for the very nice video! I'm really glad you survived your last trip! I was really worried, especially when there was no Wednesday's video.
What's up Gavin? Once again really good stuff. The golden light cast along the small rock formation, that really look nice. Let's see? A face like a chewed noddle. I bet you were a riot in high school home room. That was really funny. Take it easy man. Peace!!!!
Even the Eagle had a mixed day. True wealth, the experiences. Absolutely. Quote of the vlog, “We’re pretty much stuck”... followed by your “confirmation” 🤪
Lovely sidelight on my camera, oh the pain of one lens and you can see this through the half laugh of every time it was said , if I brought my telephoto.... cheers Gavin.
So many funny moments and equally great photo moments, oh and when I go out I must remember my telephoto 👀 belting Gavin! Wealth of heart! Oh and you’ll be back, take Grumps 👍 thank you so much for the kind shares cocker 🙏
Good to see you're still alive after your last adventure. This one still looked cold but at least a bit warmer. Enjoying the vids, good stuff. Makes me want to go places, hopefully not too much longer now.
Love it when Gavin talks us through his compositions and camera settings and his justification behind them. It just aids the learning process. Plus his top notch Yorkshire humour along with Amanda's Canadian humour. Amanda's always a loyal wife standing by her man even when he wants to take her waist high in freezing water all for photography not to mention his awful dress code! I personally was disappointed that with boots with holes, Gavin didn't wear his flip flops!! 🤣
lmao... great stuff as usual! absolutely hilarious your reaction to not bringing a telephoto lens. That's what I love about the the canon RF 70-200 and 100-500 ones... they're tiny which is good for bag-size but they're also VERY pricey :-/
The shot of the rock formation with those purple colors is my favorite. I love your shots. I'm not so sure about your fashion statement, LOL. I sure would love to see your edit on one of these images.
Gavin bro, I love seeing your failures. Really keeps me motivated in this hobby as I fail continuously. Really enjoy the style and humor of your vlogs over other photographers. Keep it up!!!
In this world of acquisition = wealth, I really love and appreciate your definition. I wish more folks would really appreciate all that is about us and see the wealth in health and happiness in nature vs. "the number of zeros" in a bank account as you mentioned. Peace & love from Arizona.
Gavin... I ran across your channel a few weeks ago and love your content. Your style is much like my own. I'm making plans now to get to BC and see some of your spectacular shots in person. Thanks Bruv!
You hit the nail on the head. The reason you shared about landscape photography and getting out there to witness those special moments and places is one of the main reasons I love landscape photography and photography in general. Spot on. Cheers, Gavin! Ps. I don't mind some extra zeros in my bank balance either tho. ;)
“Well it’s a dinosaur”-Gavin “sooooo...Ralph?”- Amanda. Her humor cracks me up.
I say you are even RICHER because you have Amanda to share all those moments with.
So true.
He's after yer lass.
With health and Amanda, everything else is a bonus

"Like a prechewed dumpling that's been shat out in anger".
Poetry.
100% agree Gavin. Life is all about experiences and memories. What a stunning location!

ahhh Open Uni, those were the days eh.
Your greatest enrichment is your relationship with Amanda.
Nothing depressing about a fototripper video, just seeing you having fun is worth the view.
Ahh, Sunday chuckles with the Fototripper gang.... 👏🏼👍😁
Man you are so inspiring, even the sun didnt came out longer and you forgot your tele lens, you didnt gave up and showed us different beautiful spots you wont notice so easy. Love your Videos!
I must say, you are my favorite Youtibe channel. Thanks for being you. Very gifted and genuine... makes me laugh when I need it most.
I really like your new banana mic @ (1:46) do you have an affiliate link for that?
It gets more muffled as you eat more. I'll lend you one ;)
@@fototripper After you chewed it well, I suppose?
I'm never happy with lots of 0's on my bank account. Perhaps because there is nothing in front of them.

“Shhhhhhit.....okay, let me rethink this.” I really think that moment was pretty amazing to watch. 👊🏼

...and you get to share your experiences with the lovely, charming and ever patient Amanda...you are indeed rich.
Rockefeller ;)
Good job. I'm not sure I would have seen the shot of the eroded rock. You're right, the light is what made it.
Please make a spring outfit trend on one of your next videos, you are my fashion icon!
Another excellent video. Perhaps a future one about focal length blending? That pic was excellent. Great stuff, for a Yorkshireman!
This video shows you are a combination of Bear Grylls and Project Runway, lol. What a beautiful place, thanks for sharing.
Always entertaining, always a great watch!
You are a fashion icon and trendsetter for landscape photographers 🕴
Always good for a laugh among the more serious stuff!
Thanks Gav. Another wonderful Sunday afternoon.
What an absolutely gorgeous place, especially with the honey combing on the rocks.
Great image of Petrified Rex in the dawn light! And so is that Amanda! What a doll baby she is❤

Love the guff! A good belly laugh is just as good for the soul as a great image captured.
Gavin you are a machine getting out there for a shot where you had only a few moments to capture the light right. Awesome
Great video!! I always look forward to your videos.
Awesome shots, Gavin! I love photographing Tafoni in sandstones. Great shapes, textures and colors. Well done!
This first image of yours was worth the sacrifice to get to the place, congratulations my friend.
Thanks for the fashion tips, will be trying it out soon on my local patch. Will let you know if I make it home alive...
+1 for the perspective stacking
