Teaching is a difficult thing. It requires a solid understanding of the fundementals and a language to communicate with. You've devised a more formalized language for foot placement. It amazes me that you mapped the paths of of your contact points. That was the real break through. edit: if this old man ever gets comfortable enough on a board to do tricks im going to step in some chalk so i can see where my feet go and move. Id imagine I'll wind up tracing out your paths when done correctly. I love the theory map!
I am intrigued to try this, the flight deck is a little bit too pricey for me in the uk. Hopefully soon ill be able to try it. So glad you used guitar as an example helped me realise what type of skater I am, because I am not really a theory guy, but I do try to learn a little theory here and there. Like in my 19 years of playing my theory is maybe grade 3, but I can play grade 8 stuff.

had this idea in the back of my head for years, glad someone finally put it out there!
Been avoiding this for the past 2 months cause it just doesn’t look like it could possibly do anything. The way he explained it makes a lot sense
makes sense especially if you're filming yourself, you can easily tell where your feet are and make small changes
This is actually really cool. God bless the brains in skateboarding!!!
I love to watch Andy skate...for the simple reason that you can feel how much he loves to skate. That passion is what makes him so fun to watch. Never change Andy!! Live2Sk8
Skating is grateful thank Andy and George Powell found each other. They are making some tremendous stuff for all of us 🤝
And oh yeah, we get some fantastic skating too!
I could definitely see this helping teachers of skateboarding for sure. Ex. Of they are learning kickflip “we need you to follow this line…. And the students will be able to see if shoe marks or by eye is making that happen. Excellent Idea!
I skated as a kid, never even fully landed a kick flip, but could carve and ride (also surfed). I'm a doctor now, and think Andy is one of the greatest skaters to ever live, and continue watching him. Quick question, has there ever been a scientific research study into the specific trick mechanics and mappings of skateboarding tricks? I feel like there has to be. If this was around when I was a kid, I probably wouldn't have put down the sksreboard, knowing how my brain works. You're awesome Andy.
When applying grip tape you can remove the paper in sections. Lineup half with the paper on. Stick the other half. Remove the rest of the paper and stick the remaining half.
🧠💪
@@authenticandyanderson You will like this too. It is a sine wave on a wheel. For every one revolution of a wheel a scotch yoke is rotated once (1:1). An end mill is used to cut a sine wave. A machine/tool can be made for approximately $200 - $400 depending on what supplies and route are purchased.
ruclips.net/video/0r_ikNe4dSM/видео.html I will post more videos soon.
This kid is a breath of fresh air, super genuine
Been waiting on this. I'm stoked on it and anything that help people.
This grip reminds me of a baseball I had growing up with the different finger positions for the different pitches.
Can we get a schematic blue version? That would be dope!!! I want to set it up on my Heron 2! Love you bro
As a 52yr old Gen-Xer who lived P&P's Bones Brigade first time round in my teens, I adore Andy & his authentic, genuine LOVE for skating & contribution to it.
What an awesome bloke.
Andy querido! espero que te sientas feliz como nosotros cuando te vemos patinar con ese corazon gigante. si supieras lo bien que nos haces no volverias a deprimirte jamas
I love it. Might simply have to make it my next deck!
The Frank Zappa comment absolutely sent me... great stuff man, you're an absolute wizard!!
ive always struggled with popping 360 shuvs and im going to give this a try now understanding andy's method because its making a lot of sense in theory
I always approached my skating in the same way…it’s all physics, and therefore can be broken down and understood. Love this
Learning an impossible when it first popped on the scene was fun. Just learning how to do one brought so many variable flips to my game.
Dude! You are awesome love yours video Taitai and I had a great time with you in Venice which you the best learning a lot 61 y o since 5 on the skate yeah!
The shoes, the deck, the grip, the trinity of skating like && 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
so proud of you, brother
I love the idea Andy! Awesome thinking.
Let’s test out the theory by letting some random skater kids try the lines out and see if they would work in the wild.
Just a thought.
Keep skating weird and fun bro!! Love it!! 🤙
Sweet setup ! Grip reminds me of pinstriping on low riders 🙌🔥
Great idea Andy is a thinker for sure so inspiring you gonna make me start skating again 😉
Thank you for drawing attention on Board and Trick-Physics as well as to the importance of one's own curiosity in such matters!
I just started skating. A theory board was the first thing I thought of to get better, little did I know there was already one out here and by Andy, the goat, himself.
My dude pushes product like no other!!! If he wasn’t such a good guy we’d all hate him… but instead, we love him! Andy is the best dude and one of thee best skaters of our generation!
Bro is taking the art/sport of skateboarding and making it a science. I love it!
Just ordered the board and the grip tape. Awesome video.
dude this is actually on another level
LETSSSS GOOOOOO IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
This is the equivalent of that baseball we had as kids that showed correct finger placement for all of the main pitches. Really awesome tool for kids learning.
This is awesome! Kinda reminds me of what dancers do to learn steps, they literally have footprints on the ground. It seems like such a simple idea but I think this can be really powerful. Nice work Andy!
I love music theory, or any theory really.. the theory of learning anything to be honest.. its learning life! Love it the grip, own it and the board! I'm a beginner and a thinker and it's helped so much!
Super cool dude. I'd love to check this out at some point even tho i have barely any time to skate these days. Keep killing it Andy, Powell and co!
Love the Theory! Sick grip!
Nice Trogdor hoodie BTW! 😅
