99% of people would gain more by changing the bushings (if they have them) to 699 bearings or changing the OE bearings to ones with Non contact seals. Last week, one company released an OSPW with a bearing that was so large, it had more drag than a bottom bracket. And just consider how much load goes through a bottom bracket (rider weight) vs a chain tensioning device. Ludicrous.

They are just showing how to install it because you might like the looks ;-) Seriously, watching all this marginal gains stuff (claimed or actual) I'm almost relieved that I'm too slow for stuff like that to matter. In older videos they demonstrate that tighter clothes or lower position gains more than changing parts of your bike that already work well.
The only benefits I heard in this well done video explaining how to disassemble a rear mech and add oversized pulleys was that; the oversized pulleys are more aerodynamic and they can increase chain efficiency. So if anything this would benefit backpacking bikers. Kudos to GCN Tech
@@stephenalivero4068 yes, you will save 1 watt at most, provided your chain is super clean. While bikepacking, any marginal gains from the oversized pulley will be more than offset by all the stuff that you will have to attach to your bicycle.
Good video of actually how to install , but oversized pulley s are really for pro team s , most people aren't riding fast enough to need them , and the price like what ..... Most people would be better off getting a coach for a year for that sort of money and then they would really go faster
Can you replace the tension spring spindle on a Lingmai ospw cage for a Shimano 105 rear derailleur? I think mine is defective. It doesn't fit the Shimano 105 rear derailleur body.
The pully wheel (upper) on my newly installed and upgrade derailleur on my trike doesn't seem to engage the chain very well in a couple of gears, it sounds like the teeth of the pully wheel are being slapped by the chain as it spins by, then you her a popping noise ever so often. My uneducated self tells me that adding a different pully wheel with another tooth or two would or might solve that problem, by forcing the wheel and chain to better engage. Might this be a common problem, my drive train is a collection of 9 speed parts from different makers.
If the reduction in chain friction is so important why not have a chainring the size of a dinner plate, and then you can have a nice 15-25 straight through cassette or even 16-26, get those gear ratios really close as well as reduce that chain friction.
