We cruise right on by the McNeil Island prison which is the Alcatraz of the Pacific Northwest and anchor with a million dollar view.
It is a wonder that more sailors don't explore the Puget Sound South of the Tacoma narrows. It is a real gem!
After surviving the Narrows a second time, we run aground in the marina!

The South Sound is underrated in my opinion. We have been sailing in the PNW for many years and agree that South of the Tacoma narrows there is a different feel. It is more relaxed and beautiful as heck.
Very nice. You re in my old stomping grounds. I lived on Fox Island for 24 yrs. Moved to Mexico in 2018. Sailed Puget Sound for 20 yrs. Filucy Bay was always one of my favorite sailing destinations. Btw...the algorithm sent me this because it knows I'm currently looking for an IF36 in Pacific Mxo. Cheers.
Nice Steve! The Freeport 36 is one of the best boats in it's class. We have sailed ours in 50kts and 20ft breaking seas and she held fast with a bone in her teeth. Are you a member of the Freeport owners group?
