First, let me thank you for your time with these lessons. I am once again trying my hand at the guitar, this time much older. Im also playing left handed after learning playing right handed in my youth. Any and all you got to teach I am totally appreciated.
@Relaxandlearnguitar yep! I am practicing them, and then once I think I have it, I'm going back and practicing them some more. I think some of the learning of the guitar is fairly simple. I don't think it is all complex. These strum patterns fit with all the chords I like and play. So, they are universal. You have saved me a ton of money on lessons. I just play your stuff for free, and I'm already on my way. I'm 39 years old, I've been playing for 5 weeks, and I'm picking this up really quickly.
I tried them out on my electric and sounded great. Just keep the distortion and reverb at '0'. Seeing this video makes me wish I never sold my acoustic. Think a trip to Guitar Center may be happening soon.
Have to give you a shout out here about the variety of lesson material you offer. Sometimes I am feeling lazy about practicing, for whatever reason. All I have to do to break that is peruse your lessons and so many stand out that I want to try it motivates me and gets me going. The thing I find really unique about what you produce is that you put so much within reach of a beginner like me. I don’t have to hunt through a bunch of tabs for the song I want to play to find a version at a level that is attainable. And I especially appreciate the exercises s that you offer. Thanks Kevin!
I love your videos. I am a 56 year old guy that just started playing guitar in November. 3 months in and I'm doing pretty good thanks to your videos and a few other great RUclipsrs. I appreciate the tips.
Great video. Playing with drum beat is a great idea Thanks for sharing PS I like that little guitar next to your left ear. Reminds me of a guardian angel . Nice touch 👍🏽
@Relaxandlearnguitar ty for the video. I pretty much do all of that. I think what happens is, when I'm strumming and trying for feeling and rhythm my had relaxes. It has been a problem for about 10 years for me. Quite frustrating lol

Love you
I gave up using a Metronome, downloaded drum beats at different BPM's, works much better. Great tip Kevin
Rock on!
Great lesson.
Thanks again
Glad you liked it!
Good stuff to woodshed on. Rhythm skills are the backbone of guitar playing success.
Couldn't agree more!

Thanks for watching! I do favor my acoustic :)

Brilliant content👍
Thank you!
Much appreciated
Ditto
great lesson Kevin....can you share the name of the drum beats app please?
Drum beats +
Thanks for watching!
If you can say, what is the free metronome app you use?
Drum beats +. I think there is a free one and a paid one.
On the up beat, are you only striking the high e and b (very lightly?)
Yes, maybe a little bit of string 3 too. Up strums are just on the high strings.
Kevin, why did you call it a C7? looked like a regular C to me. Thanks!
Oops. I may have messed that up
I have a problem with holding my pick firm enough when strumming. It will wiggle loose to the point of dropping it. Suggestions?

Clue a piece of sand paper on your pick less slippery
I have a real problem, muting the base string. I guess it just comes with practice.
Depend on your hand size. Try using your thumb to sit on the 6th string hanging over the neck just slightly.
Thanks Kevin. I’ll work on it. 🎸
