Your style of teaching has Greatly improved my progress. Has the feel of a good friend sitting across from me and encouraging me. I’m looking forward to the day I can play a couple songs for my grandkids. Thank you
LOL ohhhh, now you're gonna make us feel smart or something. Finally, I'm starting to feel safe/comfortable enough to understand this. Thank you so much
you are simply AMAZING! I just started mixing and matching with those, and already have a nice chord progression. I am going to dance with those for a while. I already recorded them in barre chord fashion and now I am going to play over them, using these MAJ, minor triads. Thank you so much, Kevin!
i began playing guitar in April and this is the first time I've understood why people in other videos moved the shape down the neck like F G A B C D E, you sir are a master teacher. thank you, you made me progress 🎉
I wish I didn't have the attitude when I was younger that playing less than a "full chord" was being lazy and not learning the chords. I started back in the 80's with a rock barre chord chart poster that laid out the E and A form barre chords. I hope everyone who watched this also picked up that moving down 1 string using the d g and b string, g string is now the root, d string 5th and b string 3rd, 5 1 3 and flat the 3rd for minor, now doubling the amount of chords or places to play them to change tone and or put more chords closer together on the fretboard. Great lesson and I could not help but add the A chord to the mix because it's right there and pretty much the same pattern just moved over 1 string. My take away was a new to look at something I should have seen years ago and I got a better understanding of the relationship of the noted, scales, and chords made from the scales and how they "fit" together musically. Thank you.
Kevin ur showing ur teaching skills to high level for ur beginners. My hat is off to u. Anybody reading this as a beginner on guitar. As a beginner myself I wanted to be able to play all those songs I loved that I heard on the radio. Oh boy .. I was wrong. I needed to go thru basic training. Once I got thru that. Kevin and a whole host of teachers made me who I am now. The best advice I can give to anybody that wants to play an instrument don't give up. It's in ur heart. Go for it
I would like to see anything else you have on Triads. The info always escaped me. Your way of explaining things make me thirst for more. You do not overwhelm as most teachers.
Im only a few months into my guitar playing and I often get so discouraged and frustrated with chords and scales... also impatience. Your channel has been the first one to break things down in a simple to understand way. Most other channels come at you with all this music theory lingo that us beginners arent going to understand... or they just go way to fast thinking you should learn at the same speed as they did.
Outstanding videos Kevin.....very useful. You are a great teacher. I think your F major triad diagram may be a F sharp major. Keep on going....Thank you.
Absolutely the best simplest explanation of triads,, ( for a beginner) I’ve heard 🤟 thank you. Could you do a version 2-3-4 etc for all of the possible triad shapes,. I would love to memorize all the shapes or at least how to think through each process, then I could discover how to form and find them myself. Thanks again, you have a great approach to learning guitar ✌️✌️
Absolutely explaining here with 2 simple shapes is easy to grasp other videos show all kind of different shapes on different strings quickly gets extremely confusing
Hey Kevin I'm really enjoying your videos. I am working on my F chord and love this progression for it practicing. Can you please explain your b flat fingering for me I can't see it clearly. Thank you
Thankyou Kevin --but Why are you playing the F Major normally on the 1 st fret --whereas the chord diagram next to you shows the second fret as the F triad -top e string root ---2 nd fret ? must be an error surely ? 2 min :42 ----time elapsed -rest is superb --well done !
From all the tutorials I have seen, this has not been brought up. Maybe I missed a basic, fundamental lesson. But EADGBE (standard tuning) is part of the triad. I got confused in the beginning, not realizing this. When I do the open Em, pressing two notes, I am wondering why I am only pressing two notes and not 3(triad). Then I realized since you need to lower the 3(G#) by a semi tone, that G is something you can't press.
I would just fingerpick the 3 notes of the triad. Do you mean adding in a bass note on the 5th or 6th string? Or even 4th. If so it would depend on the triad but you could add a bass not with your thumb and finger pick in 4/4 time.
@@Relaxandlearnguitar Thanks, yeah, the singer/ songwriter solo acoustic thing. A silly question on my part I suppose. Just have to find a bassline that sounds good and get my thumb and/ or index finger working. Thanks again!
2:31 put that one half step back then its the F triad ... Thanks for explaining i understand it .. But you should re upload the video with the right chord diagram
For u beginners out there. Take ur time. Strengthen ur fingers musclecly and callously and then u will be on the road to dexterity. My advise to u beginners. Take ur time but don't give up.... I grew up with music at a young age. I remember seeing a piano at my grandmother's house at the age of 6. I blasted the keys making no sense as a child. At the age of 9 I could play songs
Learn the notes on the fretboard with this lesson: ruclips.net/video/UC4JDfsVV7E/видео.html
Thank you! I made it sound like I don’t know my notes. 😂 I just have to figure out the best way to fret those bass notes. Thanks again!

Oh my goodness. Priceless. I play daily and you have opened up a new can of worms. I love it!

Thanks for that after watching dozens of triad video this one was the easiest to understand
Glad it helped!
This sounds great… will get these fingers moving up the frets !
Yes! Game changer

What a fantastic lesson! Just the right amount of theory with most of the focus on application. Been looking for something like this!
Excellent! Happy you like it and thanks for watching. RLG is all about easy application and having fun!
Best beginner video I have watched and not be overwhelmed
Excellent! Happy to help
Modified triad insert at 2:34 shows bar at second fret instead of first fret as shown in video.
Thanks for heads up
Thanks..it really works...🎉
You’re welcome!
Thank you! These shapes/ positions sure open knew chord possibilities. The finger-picking sounds very nice.
Glad you like it!
Excellent video and playing! A six string lesson that even us 3 string cigar box guitar guys can handle!
Nice!! Thanks for watching!
Hi Kevin as an older beginner I really like your style of playing and relaxed way of teaching its great stuff hope you can keep doing them
Happy to help. Oh yes, we are here for the long haul :)

Hey there. Have this one too ruclips.net/video/YauHDqKfPr8/видео.html
I have third string triad down in minor. Do I just flat the third for major on that third string, same fingering as first string major?
Thanks for another great lesson. I really appreciate your lessons, keep them coming!!!
You are most welcome! Will do and thanks for your support!
I must have watched 30 triad videos. Thanks for helping me wrap my head around it.
Glad to help!

Great lesson Kevin! Just what I’ve been needing. Many thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this lesson Kevin
You are welcome. Thank you for watching!
Thanks for your video. You might want to invest in a blue tooth speaker with a little better sound when using your phone to play a backing track.
Will do thanks
Nice work Kevin! Great concept for a channel. I have a co-worker who just started playing and I'll pass it along.
Kenny! Hey man, thank you so much. Hope you are well! Been doing Relax and Lean Guitar full time for a little over a year now and loving it!
Excellent, thank you Kevin 😊

You are welcome! So glad we could help!
Omg thank you! No other video helped me. But yours did!❤
Glad I could help!
With the first triad shown kelvin is playing an F MAJOR TRIAD but the screen shows an FSHARP Triad barring on the second fret.

Great lesson and very understandable. Thanks Kevin!

Hey Kevin I'm really enjoying your videos. I am working on my F chord and love this progression for it practicing. Can you please explain your b flat fingering for me I can't see it clearly. Thank you
Thanks for watching! I am barring the top 3 strings with my index finger for those minor triads.
Very nice...easy way...thank you
Welcome 😊
3:50 Ahhhhhhhhhh. Oooooooooo! Yipee🎉

You bet!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Great explanation, thank you
You are welcome!
This is good stuff
Thanks so much. Glad you liked it!
Brill great lesson
Thanks!
Brilliant ❤️
Thanks man!
Isn't the picture in the "how to play" @ about 2:48 incorrect?
Yikes! Thanks for catching that. The shape is right but it should be on 1st fret for the F. That is actually an F sharp picture Sorry about that!
Hi. Yep. That diagram is wrong. The diagram is F# I believe. Thanks for watching!
The 3 notes in the Em triad are E G and B. So the open E string is the third note.
Can you play the A and D or just the D string with the higher strings in the triad...or not?
Sorry, not sure I follow?
If you wanted to fingerplay triads what’s the best way to incorporate bass notes?
I would just fingerpick the 3 notes of the triad. Do you mean adding in a bass note on the 5th or 6th string? Or even 4th. If so it would depend on the triad but you could add a bass not with your thumb and finger pick in 4/4 time.

Ok. Thanks
The picture shapes of F chord is incorrect to the lesson as it would be F# according to the simplistic method shown i think ??
Yep. Thanks for heads up. I noted it in description

Good video but your diagram shows second fret for first finger for f chord
Thanks for pointing that out - I'll get that fixed in the next version.
Use a looper
your diagram shows pressing down on the second not first fret ??? Yet you say press on ist fret
Diagram is correct. I made mistake
They are triads on the 6 strings all over the fretbord.
This lesson is just the tip of the iceberg :)
Learn a new concept…in this case triads….I quickly look for The Super K to guide me through.
Or use a looper, instead of a recording.
Good idea!
👍
Maggie May looks like she may have a little Besenji in her
You are right! We did one of those DNA tests - german shepherd, terrier and chihuahua. But I am not certain that it is totally accurate.....
🤯
Your F triad is correct BUT the diagram is wrong it should be showing the fingering starting on the first fret not the 2 nd
Yikes. Thanks for the heads up.
@@Relaxandlearnguitar no problem. Luv your lessons
Kevin the diagram does not match your triad for fmjr that you are susing
Yikes! Thanks for catching that. The shape is right but it should be on 1st fret for the F. That is actually an F sharp picture Sorry about that!
Ah Ha 💡. The F chord (no bar)
Absolutely
