You know I think his review was bull shit. I could care less what you think about the car as YOUR opinion. Tell us about the damn car and its features. I know you drive a lambo and all but us poor folks could spare the smug attitude on reviews.
My girlfriend's sister has a 2012 2.5 auto model in denim blue. I've yet to check it out but I was in the turbo model they had at the auto show and I absolutely loved it! Right now I drive a 71 convertible that's still running strong at 361k! Sure beats sitting at the bus stop every morning too :)
Vw does not suck. They make the fastest, fun and fuel efficient cars. Want quality? Get a golf, passat, cc,tiguan, touareg or eos. Toyota just sells their cars by reliability, they are so boring, at least VW gives you fun to drive cars in their whole lineup. The 2.5 sucks and it will be replaced in 2014 by a new 1.8T with 160hp
this is by far my favorite generation and MUCH less feminine looking then the previous gen has been and its just an awesome unique car. i cant say so much for the retro wheels on the somewhat bland silver exterior. red turbo S for me. and i just love all the options VW gives you. while im writing an essay, its 2012 .. i know its a lowly equipped trim but some of the standard tech on other VW's not offered on this is kind of dissapointing.
to keep the cost of production down so that more people is able to afford VW. That's why you don't see a ton of cutting-edge technologies or sophisticated engines mounted on all of their vehicles. You want a vehicle you like you gotta pay the premium for it.
I would say right now the Focus and the Cruze is winning in the compact car segment because they offer a lot for little money in comparison to the Corolla and Civic. Both the Cruze and Focus have great interiors, exteriors, features and good ride/handling. The Corolla and Civic have gone back in quality and the Koreans aren't quite up there yet. The MT Focus would make the best of what it has to offer.
I just purchased my 7th BEETLE. I'm angry that the drivers manual was not in it. The one before this was 2015 bought cash. Tree came down on the road in front of me. Totaled car. I had no choice but to downgrade to a 2012. I love the car as it is a turbo. I always wanted a turbo for the style. Anyway the radio is very different and I do not understand why I can't get a video of that radio on RUclips.
Wow I'm shocked the interior quality isn't that great, I thought it would be on par with the Golf. Is this also made in Mexico like the Jetta by any chance?
Bigger wheels have lots of upside but one big negative for me: Cost!!! 17 inch tires are darn expensive compared to 15 inch tires. It sucks twice as much if you live somewhere that snow tires make sense. :( And four times as much for Canadians. :( :( :(
still look at whats in the class. sure the new civic is a major letdown the new jetta is probably worse because they cut corners mechanically, and quality is bad, and the new focus's transmission and tech has really been a letdown. although MFT is improving very much, it has a way to go. the toyota corolla is dated as hell and hyundai/kia wont hold resale. and the 0-60 times on the new civic are the exact same as the new focus.. and the focus has an extra gear.
Whiles you're mostly right do realize the Civic is being redesigned for 2013 because the 2012 was such a disappointment. The interior quality is horrid in comparison to the previous generation and the design is a bit "Korean". Also, performance isn't all that either as older Civic Si cars were more fun.
There's one of these at my high school presumably owned by a teacher that's yellow and it brightens my day everytime I see it

The I5 2.5 is not the same engine that was used in the Group B cars used by Audi. Not even close.
These are things that some people value, and I for one, don't feel very at home in an all-plastic interior.
