Nice drive and lovely scenery. I like the lights around the roof. I'm thinking of ditching my auto-everything SUV and getting a IIa to see me out, as I'll be able to fix it myself instead of needing a diagnostic supercomputer to tell me why the engine is misfiring. Regards from the UK.

There is something very attractive about simplicity and i think that old cars reflect that mindset. I also love the self reliance aspect of it. Go for it 👍

Not sounding too uncivilised in there.
I SAID, IT DOESN’T SOUND TOO NOISY!

Very enjoyable to watch. Are you generally pulling away in 2nd? It looks like you're going from bottom left to top right as your first gear change. Does this have the 2a gearbox?

Thanks James. Its stock gearbox (suffix E). I do tend to take off in 2nd when not hill start. This is so i can keep up with traffic as double declutching slows down the acceleration speed. Being diesel it has torque for this.

So, are you happy with the end result..? You certainly put some work into it.

Extremely happy, love driving the thing. Also a great sense of relief to have it all together again after 3 years in pieces!

@@suskaklapp6641 bit of advice for you, DONT strip the lot down... split the job into 3rds... start from the back tub and work that ares, then mid section to bulkhead, then finally front end. This way you always have a part assembled and controlled project!

@@rovertasmania7033My series is a cab chassis, no tray, chassis is rust free, very small amount in the bulkhead, I thought I'd do the chassis and build up from there.? I'm not that far from you, Judbury,

Best video so far showing how the driver fits in the seat. How tall are you? Trying to gauge if I can even consider driving one of these at just over 6 foot tall. Great video!

Thanks Marty... well you're in luck! I am 6'2" and fit very comfortably in the series! Actually I was very surprised myself as they look small inside but that is not the case. The driving position is good, and the lack of centre console etc (as you have with modern cars) actually make leg room more spacious. So for tall guys, its great.
