Amazing shot-by-shot breakdown, Wilkey!!
Thanks Earl!
Cool run down!! Nice work bud!! Keep it up.
Thanks 👍
Fantastic explanation of an amazing moment in time to capture. I've seen your hard work on display for many years. You and the R3 knocked it out of the park on this. BYU is lucky to have you, man!
Thanks Tim!
Another great video. Really enjoying watching these! Question about losing focus. The r3 is supposed to have “sticky” settings where the af stays locked on the subject once acquired. Until to let your finger off the focus button. I believe it’s case #2 but I could be wrong. We’re you using the “sticky” settings on the r3? And how did you go about reacquiring the focus on the player? Did you release the af (center?) and then made sure the square was back on the player before af again?
Thanks!!
AF still isn't sticky enough, I'm using spot focus on case 3 on AF, when it struggles to get subject in focus I keep holding it down and track the subject hoping it catches it. Head tracking doesn't work consistently with football helmets, Hopefully in future cameras and firmwares there is a mode specifically for football helmet tracking with offset focus to keep eyes in focus, and the ability to make it super sticky, ignoring officials and other players crossing in front of the subject.
Great video and walk through of your photos! Thank you for sharing 🙂
Thanks for watching!
Football is
But did he actually get that right foot down. Only Puka really knows if his foot dragged on that turf.
