I could see what Steichen was trying to do using an unassuming player. It was a good idea but, they’ll criticize him because he didn’t make the play.
I picked up Stroud in September for my fantasy team. He proved to be better than Lawrence and Watson. He does need to learn how to slide feet first! That’s my only “criticism”. And then to dine out he was born at Lankanau Hospital, just outside Philly, where I used to work weekends during my high school days.

The play call was perfect, clearly caught Houston off guard and had the back wide open. The call was perfect, the execution was awful. These guys make a lot of money, it shouldn't be an issue to expect them to be able to complete a very easy pass and catch. It's not the coaches fault Minshew choked and the back was unable to adjust to the bad ball placement

Why do they always have to be physically animated so much when breaking down a play on the screen? Like they're actually inside the screen, at the game, on the field themselves.
We got lucky. The only reason we won was because Goodson dropped the ball. They would have got a TD with their running game and won by a point thanks to Fairbarn. Fairbarn should send a bottle of champagne to Goodson for bailing him out. 😑

Some context, after Deshaun Watson and JJ Watt era, most ppl, including, ppl In Houston thought it will be years of rebuilding before any chance of getting into the playoff.
In addition, to get once in a lifetime time talent like CJ at #2 who is also good character off the field, vs Watson who is talented but who still have not face up to his own demon off the field….. absolutely amazing for the city of Houston ❤🎉
Speaking from a Texans fans view, that ball to Goodson knuckled badly right at the end. That was like a late-breaking slider. That whole "If you can touch it, you can catch it" thing is right up there with "the customer is always right." It's an attitude slogan you say to make a point, it's not a literal truth. Just like Fairbairn and the Texans were unlucky to miss the PAT at the absolute worst time of the whole year, we were also pretty lucky that pass was one of Minshew's worst and Taylor wasn't used. That's sports.
The Colts' ding-a-ling head coach BADLY mismanaged the clock at the end of this game. They needed to go for it on 4th down WITHOUT calling timeout first, to preserve all 3 timeouts for when Houston got the ball back if they did not convert the 4th down. And if they WERE going to call it, call it RIGHT AWAY after the 3rd down play. Instead, they tried to draw Houston offside while 20 - 25 precious seconds melted off the clock, and THEN they called the timeout--worst of all worlds. Lose precious time AND lose a precious timeout. That Colts coach should be fired for abject gross stupidity.

If Colt's fans don't call out the head coach for his inept, ineffective, predictable, conservative play calling that has dominated the inability of the offense to have reasonable 3rd down short yardage situations, you deserve to lose. The coach has been this way about all year and it came to a head last night wherein again and again because he was all about run, run, run, they continuously had 3 and outs. Wake up!
