A singer that has the complete package; handsome, charismatic, good sexy voice. Singer w/ o excessive scandals after a long career. And his long list of classic songs - right from his start. ‘ every breath you take’, ‘ The Police group.
How beautiful.. my most favorite version of this extraordinary piece of music. Sting has completed to perfection with his voice and his style of singing. What a pleasure listening to. Liked. Subscribed, and Thank you.
This is by far my favorite of Sting's many songs. I loved the movie "The Thomas Crown Affair" that it was featured in as well. You can't beat Legrand as a composer either.
I played the song at the piano in a bar. Chap at the bar told me he wrote the song after I had syncopated it... 1992. Le Shaker Vietnamese bar Nam Long. Must have been legrand
@@peter4health Wow! Very cool. It might have been. While I wouldn't say my own original music is influenced by Legrand, I have on occasion covered one of his tunes. Thanks for checking in! Take care.
Round, like a circle in a spiral Like a wheel within a wheel Never ending or beginning On an ever-spinning reel Like a snowball down a mountain Or a carnival balloon Like a carousel that's burning Running rings around the moon Like a clock whose hands are sweeping Past the minutes of its face And the world is like an apple Whirling silently in space Like the circles that you find In the windmills of your mind. Like a tunnel that you follow To a tunnel of it's own Down a hollow to a cavern Where the sun has never shone Like a door that keeps revolving In a half-forgotten dream Or the ripples from a pebble Someone tosses in a stream Like a clock whose hands are sweeping Past the minutes of its face And the world is like an apple Whirling silently in space Like the circles that you find In the windmills of your mind. Keys that jingle in your pocket Words that jangle in your head Why did summer go so quickly Was it something that you said Lovers walk along the shore And leave their footprints in the sand Is the sound of distant drumming Just the fingers of your hand Pictures hanging in a hallway And a fragment of this song Half-remembered names and faces But to whom do they belong When you knew that it was over Were you suddenly aware That the autumn leaves were turning To the color of her hair Like a circle in a spiral Like a wheel within a wheel Never ending or beginning On an ever-spinning reel As the images unwind Like the circles that you find In the windmills of your mind. Pictures hanging in a hallway And the fragment of this song Half-remembered names and faces But to whom do they belong When you knew that it was over Were you suddenly aware That the autumn leaves were turning To the color of her hair Like a circle in a spiral Like a wheel within a wheel Never ending or beginning On an ever-spinning reel As the images unwind Like the circles that you find In the windmills of your mind.
Nobody I have heard matches this version of the song. With the one film that is a rare improvement over the original upgrading it from a mere heist film. Then this song and you keep the credits running to hear it.
Great version but nobody matches Dusty Springfield. I delivered a package to her when I worked for a messenger service and she was walking around singing this while signing the paper. She sounded as perfect in person well after her career ended as she did in the studio.

Sting can do NO wrong!
From the days with the Police to his entire solo career…he’s just simply AMAZING!🤩💃🏽😌🎧
The perfect voice for this tune )
Hypnotized EVERY TIME I HEAR THIS VERSION!!! Only sting can make this amazing version of this song!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Exactement..la meilleure reprise jamais interprétée de tout les temps
What a fresh take on an old song.
Great version❤
I remember playing around a syncopated version on rhe piano in a bar and then chap at the bar said I wrote that... Sting does some great jazz
Nobody sings it like the Stingman. It doesn't get anymore romantic than this.🥂

Original song composed and Written but Michel Legrand… one of thé des jazz artist Genius of all the time. Very nice version
I love the lyrics of this song and each artist who has sung it, brings their unique signature of it. Each are beautiful in their own rights.
YES YES YES YOUR RIGHT
But for some reason only a British accent does justice to the lyrics
Noel Harrison, 1969
A masterpiece performed by true masters.
Sorry! The annoying clock sound is totally unnecessary.
How beautiful.. my most favorite version of this extraordinary piece of music.

Exquisite and mesmerizing song and musical genius in Sting❤

Round, like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning
On an ever-spinning reel
Like a snowball down a mountain

Running rings around the moon
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes of its face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind.
Like a tunnel that you follow
To a tunnel of it's own
Down a hollow to a cavern
Where the sun has never shone
Like a door that keeps revolving
In a half-forgotten dream
Or the ripples from a pebble
Someone tosses in a stream
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes of its face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind.
Keys that jingle in your pocket
Words that jangle in your head
Why did summer go so quickly
Was it something that you said
Lovers walk along the shore
And leave their footprints in the sand
Is the sound of distant drumming
Just the fingers of your hand
Pictures hanging in a hallway
And a fragment of this song
Half-remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair
Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning
On an ever-spinning reel
As the images unwind
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind.
Pictures hanging in a hallway

Never heard this version before but an excellent cover.
What a great song!
Great song
Lovely version
Wow... Another classic version of a classic song from a classic movie...
Tysm. Sting has always been one ive loved for many many years. Im so glad he put lyrics to this song. Did see movie long ago but dont remember much
put lyrics to the song? the lyrics are likely older than he is!
The version from 1969 has the same lyrics. Look up Noel Harrison
I don't understand why I've been tagged to this

That is a cool version. Next to the original version of Noal Harrison this is the best I have heard.
You think Noel was better than Dusty? You need hearing aids maybe😂
This is what the Fender Rhodes was built for.
I love this! Ty

I prefer the versions of Noel Harrison and Peter Grant. But this one is a close second.
I quite agree with you. This version does not have the depth, arrangement, and gravitas of Noel Harrison.
Many versions, his has never been bettered.
Maybe a 4th or 5th place , never on first!!😮
What? This version is a lot deeper than Harrison's. And he sings too fast.

Like your vid and Gordon Lightfoot
better. Your drone and your excellance make tbe difference.
Lucia
Gordon Lightfoot sang "If you could read my mind", totally different song😂
I think you are confusing Gordon Lightfoot (one of the greatest singer/songwriters there is) with Sting, whose real name is Gordon Sumner.
