They don’t make actors like this anymore. RIP Steve !
Since CGI.
Brings back memories of my childhood
So evocative of another time, I think you have to be a certain age to get this. The world was very different back then and I’m glad I was part of it. Sad and sweet and innocent, brings a tear to the eye.
Indeed!
I guess it was the best time. It is Nostalgy today. These times will never come back again.
Summed it up perfectly.
Agree WITH you
Maravillosa música y película exquisita 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Three things that old music had: lyrics we could understand, a story to be told and heart.
we are just a bunch of old people who can never forget their youth
Speak for yourself 😂😂😂
IF we DO, it’s like we never lived… Isn’t it..?? “To reminisce is to live again…”
This was my favorite piece of music to play slowly, cresending at just the right moments for emphasis. So soulful, emotional, and thought provoking. I Love the lyrics. 🌿🎶🎵🎹
Exactly 😂
One of the most beautiful songs ever composed & sung by a phenomenon- Dusty Springfield at Memphis - The Thomas Crown Affair
Dusty Springfield was such an incredible singer! ❤❤❤❤
Dusty Springfield my all time favorite female artist. Love her songs, her strong, clear voice. This song is hauntingly beautiful. She was fantastic. Sorry she is no longer with us.
I feel like I have lived 10 lifetimes in my 60 years. I can't even recognize myself from when I was a child, young adult, young wife, mom/single mom, middle age, 2nd marriage(21 years ago!), and all the many trials and tribulations I have been through. So many bittersweet memories. The world has changed, so much. Not for the better, imo. Growing older is kinda sad. 😢😔
Hang in there love, life is pretty much an emotional roller coaster, try to remember all the good things and keep smiling because you’ll have good times ahead. As you say “growing older is kinda sad” but a line from one of Dusty’s songs says…thinking young and growing older is no sin and you can still play the game of life to win.❤️
@@mikeholling8830 Thank you for your kind words.❤
Happiness makes up in height what it lacks in length. One day at a time is sufficient and know you are loved. ✌️❤️
@@edwardwilliams8238 Yes! ❤
You are poetic in a profane way. And if you do not see poetry in your words, please consider that you have aged like a fine wine and only you can distinguish and discern the expressions you fatefully live. Perhaps even, the ability to regret will fall away...
How beautiful were Faye Dunaway and Steve McQueen and this song by Dusty Springfield xxx
Agreed, they were mere mortals like us but were icons too us still.
IMO…. There are movies that have stood the test of time and shouldn’t be remade, updated or touched. Casablanca, Gone With the Wind, Wizard of Oz, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Pretty Woman. The Thomas Crown Affair didn’t need a redo. Humphrey Bogart is forever Rick Blaine, Clark Gable is forever Rhett Butler, and Steve McQueen will ALWAYS be Thomas Crown. The last 5 minutes of the movie are one of the best endings in movie history. Never mess with success. IMO.
Dusty’s version will always feel the most romantic to me.
boring. the original is already perfect. it's a poem + a baroque melody so it should be sung at a fast tempo. doesn't need unnecessary over-dramatic whining
Full of deep emotions.. No other version is that penetrating ..This is the best ever ...
My absolute favorite McQueen movie.
Dusty's version of this song is by far the best one. She can tell a story with her voice better than anyone.
In my opinion, Alison Moyet has the best version.
Sung to slow
The best is Barbra streisand
Listen to Sinne Eeg!!
❤ the original
What a great Film and Theme. Even today I cannot dig, why Steve McQueen had to go so early. Guys like him you consider indestructable.
Dusty ❤ RIP & great film with fabulous actors 😊 Steve was sooooo Sexy 😊
Steve MacQueen was very charming I miss him.
He was Mr Cool in person 😮
There's no one else like him...😢
She hit it out of the park. Like Nancy Sinatra's You Only Live Twice.
Dusty hit it out the park every time she sang.
You Only Live Twice is my favourite Bond theme and film! Such a beautiful evocative song.
@angelaleishman1570 Mine too.
God was Faye Dunaway beautiful!!
She still is ❤
I love it !! Dusty Springfield sang this songs awesome. Steve McQueen is so handsome..
Love this film❤
Faye Dunaway is the last of the great actresses in Hollywood. And Dusty Springfield is one of my fav singers of all time.
Cool dude Steve
Oh my..he is beautiful
I'd forgotten how ravishing Faye Dunaway was.
and she hated wire hangers
@@mlongpre100 Barbara, please!
What great music and generation. The young people have missed out.
Michel Legrand, the composer, was a genius and won several oscars with his movie music, including this one. He was also a fantastic jazz pianist.
In the movie it was sung by Noel Harrison if my memory serves me correctly
Timeless
I love and miss Miss Dusty Soringfield soooo much l loved her voice and her great stance even today her voice is just as beautiful and stunning as it was yesterday today and always we miss her and her stunning voice rest in peace with God's love Dusty your voice still makes us puiver girl
What wonderful music!
Such a stylish movie, with a perfect music score!
Wow that was good! What a voice and a well written song!
ELEGANCIA, ESTILO, BELEZA.- ERA OTRO MUNDO.- ....Y UNO ERA MUCHO MAS JOVEN.-
I was just a little too hip in 69 when they released this movie. I was 5 going on 6,and music was a very important thing for me. I also thought that Ms Springfield was drop dead gorgeous compared to most singers. I never really watched the movie, but I do remember hearing it a few times on the radio.
can never forget the unique beauty of Fay Dunaway
One of the most beautiful songs ever composed & sung by a phenomenon- Dusty Springfield at Memphis - The Thomas Crown Affair
Wonderful Dusty. The best of the best
Yes... indeed, it was a different world back then. I am also very glad I was part of it. Today... is quite strange. I'm not sure if I appreciate it, as much. Ah, but perhaps I'll learn, eh..?
Dusty for ever. Love her so much. Still.❤
like the circles that find in the windmills of your mind..
Inoubliable Steve McQueen
Easily the definitive version of this song. Mind you, it does feature the wonderful Dusty Springfield.
Gorgeous, every frame, every note.
Very great song and very singer Dusty Springfield. She i' am like un the song The look of love
This was really a nice movie & the lovely voice of Dusty's version as the theme song.I can only say it was remarkable performances ever since
Noel Harrison sang the theme tune to the Thomas crown affair
Tout à fait d'accord avec vous. Beaux et élégants.
Dusty so memorable
Dunaway and Dusty what a combo.
The perfect song in all aspects.
Fabulous Dusty great voice
Such a magical rendition ❤️
Classic Song....Classic Movie.....Classic Time....miss those Times Now.......
His niece Victoria Legrand is in the band Beach House.
Fay Dunaway what an intriguing beauty she was....
My generation.
Most of them gone now!
More's the pity.
Many versions but Dusty's is the best, bar none.
Much better than the remake with Pierce Brosnan. This movie had an elegant class all it's own.
Love him Omg
Awesome
Astonishing quality. The vidoe suits the music perfectly.
For eternity ...
The windmills of your mind
She sounds just like Musician Haley Reinhart from Chicago, Illinois USA 🇺🇸!!
Steve McQueen was so beautiful!😘
He was Mr Cool in person 😮
This song is very beatiful at the song movie Casino Royale!!!❤😂🎉😅😊
Say Goodnight Erwin Dear..”Goodnight Erwin Dear”… :)
Another time but now
😂😂 for a minute I thought that was Joan Crawford ❤❤❤ Dusty has the best version by far but I do love that French lady too…
The best
Haskell Wexler, cinematographer.
Actor Rex Harrison son was the first to sing this song.
I was so looking forward to growing up and wearing great suits. Then those damn hippies had to ruin it. 😝
Dusty Springfield'version is kind... atmospheric....
I think I'd rather Noel Harrison's more. Anyway.
The first movie is state-of-the-art;
Both main characters' actors (specially Steve Mac Quinn - of my favorites) are unique; the plot is all-time-suspense : a cat-mouse hunt-game; the music carefully fitting in every scene.
(the 2nd, newer, remake.... though decent, hardly can reach the high standards of the 1sy one - IMHO)
.........Michel Legrand............
Don't feel sorry for Faye. She was an insurance investigator trying to send him to prison and advance her career.
And yet hmmmm.. here you are.. hmmmm..
I like Dusty but the original was far better?
That is Faye Dunawey?
Yes
Great movie. The new version with Pierce Brosan was not very good due to the cop out ending.
And Pearce is no Steve McQueen.
@@angelaleishman1570 Amen to that! He's not even in the same league as Steve McQueen. Not even close.
@@barbaralangan9200 Exactly!!! 😂💕
McQueen looked like such a pencil-neck. It's hard to believe he'd make the cut in action flicks today. He'd probably play a waiter or fry cook.
BACK BEFORE HOLLYWOOD DIED...
???? This song occurred BEFORE the 60s feminist revolution???? I am just not sure the modern woman would attribute that much complexity to any guy's head.....well...unless he won a Nobel....the average are quite ....meh...not so much windmills....more like one of those handheld battery fans running on AA battery ....🤣
Seriously, love her iconic fashion style....him....meh...has the old grumpy man fashion....my grandpa wore! 😎
Steve McQueen never won a Nobel prize, but some significant races! Women want men who are alive & taking chances at least the kind I want.
im sure men feel the same about women.
Steve McQueen was utterly GORGEOUS!!!! There is no one to compare today. He had the raw sex appeal of a manly man!
What a magical version of this song, so cool.
And has Faye Dunaway ever looked so good!
